Chapter 923: Chapter 1140: Tsundere

Watching its injuries healing at a speed visible to the naked eye, then looking at the empty bottle of Recovery Potion on the ground, the Bisharp leader showed a shocked expression.

It hadn't expected that such a small bottle could heal most of its injuries. As for the remaining wounds, with its own physique, it could easily recover from them on its own.

"Sharp!"

Bisharp Leader: "That one doesn't count. Let's fight again."

Having lost to a Bisharp whose level was far lower than its own, the leader felt extremely unwilling to accept the result and wanted a rematch.

If Julian hadn't used its entire clan as leverage earlier, it wouldn't have become anxious and made such a fatal mistake.

Now it understood.

Although this human was quite devious, he actually had no real malice toward it or its clan.

He had only done that to force it to fight with its full strength.

Seriously, couldn't he have just said so directly?

Julian: 'I did say so. But you refused to come out and sent your underling instead, so I had no choice but to resort to a little... persuasion.'

"So you can't accept defeat?" Julian looked at it with disdain. "You're the leader of a clan, yet you refuse to admit your loss. That's just shameless."

"You're the one who's shameless!" the Bisharp leader snapped angrily.

If it weren't for the Metagross beside Julian, it would have shown him what a true Elite-level Pokémon was capable of.

"It's clearly because you're too stupid. How could someone as kind as me ever do something like wipe out your entire clan?"

Julian retorted with a pout. He had the word 'kindness' practically written on his face. How could this guy not see it?

The Bisharp leader decided it didn't want to talk to Julian anymore and asked bluntly:

"So, are we fighting again or not?"

"No."

Julian shook his head.

He had already achieved his goal—why fight a second time?

Besides, now that it knew he was such a "good person," he couldn't threaten it with its clan anymore.

And with the current state of his Bisharp, it wouldn't be able to fight anyway.

"Coward," the Bisharp leader said, unwilling to let it go.

Julian just nodded: "Yeah, yeah, whatever you say."

Bisharp leader:(‵皿′)

"Metagross, let's go."

Since his objective had already been achieved, Julian prepared to leave.

Tomorrow, once Bisharp had recovered, he would head to Maplia to challenge the leader of another Bisharp group.

"Wait," the Bisharp leader quickly called out to Julian.

Julian looked at it warily. "I know I'm handsome and charming, but I already have a Bisharp. So even if you kneel, I still won't take you with me."

Hearing that, the Bisharp leader's face immediately darkened. Was it out of its mind? As if it wanted to become his Pokémon. This guy's ego was really something else.

"Follow me. There's something I want you to take out of here."

Seeing the Bisharp leader walking toward a cave ahead—the place where its group lived—Julian, already seated on Metagross, signaled it to follow.

After entering the cave, they walked for about half an hour. The cave was surprisingly deep.

"Wait here for a moment," the Bisharp leader said at a corner.

Julian nodded.

"Feels a bit mysterious," he muttered quietly, wondering what exactly the Bisharp wanted him to take to the outside world.

Julian didn't have to wait long—about three minutes later, the Bisharp leader returned.

But when it came back, it was carrying a human wearing a standard trainer outfit on its shoulder.

"You've been hiding a beauty in here? Pokémon are into this kind of thing too?!" Julian instinctively blurted out, seeing the Bisharp leader emerge carrying a woman.

He had to admit, the woman was indeed beautiful. She could easily rank in the top five among the beautiful women Julian had seen.

He just didn't know how long she had been unconscious. Her small face was pale, almost too pale, and her breathing seemed weak.

"I found this human in a valley. She was already unconscious when I found her. Seeing she was a member of the royal family, I brought her back here," the Bisharp leader explained.

"How long has she been unconscious?"

Looking at her pale skin—so pale that her veins were visible—it seemed like she hadn't seen sunlight in a very long time.

"About seven or eight years," the Bisharp leader said.

"And she survived that long without being eroded by the secret realm's energy?" Julian asked in surprise.

"This woman was lucky. She must have eaten a Secret Realm Fruit before falling unconscious, so she's immune to the secret realm's energy erosion."

Julian nodded. That was the only reasonable explanation.

Then he asked, puzzled, "Why give her to me? Don't the Anglian royal family have contact with you? Why haven't you handed her over to them in all these years?"

Since the Bisharp group resided in this secret realm, the Anglian royal family took it very seriously and would send people to inspect it regularly.

However, they only ever inspected the periphery and never once entered the cave where the Bisharp group lived.

"Hmph, I just don't like them," the Bisharp leader snorted coldly.

Its feelings towards the Anglian royal family were a mix of love and hate.

Love, because they had indeed been a great help to its clan. Whenever a clan member was seriously ill or injured, the Anglian royal family would provide timely treatment as soon as they found out.

Sometimes when the clan's food was scarce, they would promptly supply provisions.

Hate, because every year, they would catch some of its clan members. Especially its own children. Over the years, it had continuously fathered offspring, yet not a single one remained.

All of them had been taken away by the royal family members.

They claimed it was because its children's potential was exceptional.

As if it needed them to say that? Of course its offspring were exceptional!

So, after accidentally finding this unconscious royal family member in the valley, the Bisharp leader didn't immediately return her. Instead, it hid her inside the cave where it lived.

Originally, it had planned to let her go once she woke up.

But it never expected this woman would sleep for seven to eight years without waking. Instead, it ended up having to find food for her every day, just barely sustaining her life.

And starting about half a month ago, this woman's life force had began to weaken.

And the next inspection by the Anglian royal family was still two months away. So by the time they arrived, this woman would probably be dead.

Having cared for her for so long, the Bisharp leader had inevitably grown somewhat attached to her. Naturally, it didn't want her to die like this.

And now that Julian had showed up.

Although this human had a rather questionable character, in some ways he was still a decent person.

So rather than handing this woman over to some other trainer entering the secret realm, it might as well give her to Julian.

Looking at the tough-talking but soft-hearted Bisharp leader, Julian chuckled inwardly.

If it truly disliked the Anglian royal family so much, why bother saving this woman—and even taking care of her for seven or eight years?

In the end, the royal family's kindness toward it clearly outweighed the resentment it claimed to feel.

Otherwise, while it might not have killed the woman—but it certainly wouldn't have chosen to save her.

It was clearly a tsundere.
