Chapter 924: Chapter 1141: Ex
"Alright," Julian nodded.
Although he had been unhappy that Anglia refused to let him enter their secret realm, he had already trampled their pride under his foot.
So watching this woman die inside the secret realm was something he definitely wouldn't do, so Julian agreed to take her out.
Pop!
Just then, a Poké Ball at his waist suddenly opened.
And Aegislash appeared in front of Julian.
Aegislash approached the woman, its expression filled with excitement and surprise.
Seeing that reaction, Julian seemed to realize something and immediately asked:
"Don't tell me this woman is your former trainer?"
Aegislash hadn't been caught by Julian himself. He had bought it at an auction, where it had still been a Honedge.
The Honedge line was unique to the Anglian royal family. In the entire world, they only appeared in Anglia's Top-tier secret realms, and for hundreds of years they had been a symbol of their royalty.
Because of that, trainers outside the royal family could only obtain one if they had made enormous contributions to Anglia—or showed extraordinary potential.
And even then, the trainer had to be a citizen of Anglia.
So up to now, no foreign trainer had ever owned an Aegislash. Even Celestria, Anglia's closest ally, had never been given one.
The reason Julian was able to obtain a Honedge back then was because a daring Pokémon hunter had killed an Anglian royal when they entered a secret realm, stealing their Pokémon, including the Honedge.
Afterward, the Honedge changed hands several times before eventually appearing in an auction in Drakoria, where Julian happened to be at the time.
As a Steel and Ghost type, the Honedge line naturally suited Julian's own preferences, so he bought it without hesitation.
At the time, this had caused great dissatisfaction within the Anglian royal family, who demanded Julian return the Honedge that symbolized their lineage.
But Julian wasn't some ordinary person, so he simply ignored them.
Thus, Julian became the third person outside the Anglian royal family—and aside from a very small number of Anglian trainers—to possess a Honedge.
"I didn't expect her to be your former trainer. This woman sure is lucky to have survived this long."
Julian said with slight surprise, looking at Aegislash and the unconscious woman.
Clearly, due to some unexpected circumstances, the Pokémon hunter hadn't killed this woman. However, she had fallen into a coma.
And if the Bisharp leader hadn't appeared in time, she might already have died.
Now, she wasn't dead, just unconscious, and by sheer coincidence, he had encountered her.
Julian could only say that fate sure worked in mysterious ways.
"Alright, that's enough. Why are you getting so excited? Don't tell me you want to go back with your former trainer now?"
Julian watched Aegislash circle around the woman several times, its whole body radiating waves of excitement and joy.
He immediately felt a bit displeased.
'What, am I not good enough for you? The moment you see your former trainer, you get this excited?'
'Sure enough, the current one can never beat the ex.'
Hearing that, Aegislash quickly shook its head.
It had already been with Julian for many years, and after becoming his Pokémon, Julian had never mistreated it. So even though it had now met its former trainer again, it had no intention of leaving Julian.
By now, the bond between them had long surpassed the bond it once had with its former trainer.
Though it was still very happy to see that its former trainer was alive—that much it won't deny.
"That's more like it."
Seeing Aegislash eagerly expressing its loyalty, Julian nodded in satisfaction.
He also knew Aegislash wouldn't leave him; it was simply happy to see its former trainer alive.
"Come on, let's get her out of here."
Julian hoisted the woman onto his shoulder. He had to admit, she was surprisingly soft. And despite having slept for seven or eight years, her body didn't stink at all. In fact, there was even a faint fragrance.
It truly was mysterious.
Aegislash quickly followed behind, smiling to itself. It knew its trainer had been a little jealous, so it didn't dare show too much excitement anymore.
---
Outside the secret realm's gate, half a day had passed since Julian entered.
Zekrom stood in front of the gate like a loyal guardian.
Not far in front of it stood the nine councillors of Anglia and the royal family members.
None of them had left, seemingly waiting for Julian to emerge.
"Councillor, the people are extremely agitated because of Julian. Protest marches have already reached the palace," a staff member whispered to one of the councillors.
Julian's actions this time had effectively trampled the pride of the nation underfoot.
Of course, the citizens of Anglia were angry.
The key point was that the nine councillors and the royal family members of Anglia didn't even dare to utter a single dissenting word.
Even if they weren't going to fight Julian, the least they could do was to strongly condemn his actions externally to save face.
Couldn't they at least go through the motions? Now they couldn't even do that anymore?
People were angry at Julian, but they were even more angry at their own country's officials.
So they took to the streets in protest, using demonstrations to express their dissatisfaction.
The councillors were long accustomed to the public protesting over everything.
Wages didn't increase? Protest.
Prices went up? Protest.
Medical care was inconvenient? Protest.
Too many Rattata in the sewers? Protest.
Basically, whenever they felt something wasn't right, they would protest.
Even though such actions rarely solved any real problems. But if they didn't protest, it almost felt like something was missing.
"Send someone to calm them down," one councilor said.
They were very experienced in handling this kind of situation.
'First we'll appease you, and after some time passes, you'll naturally stop protesting about this anyway.'
The staff member nodded.
Just then, the secret realm gate flickered slightly, and the next moment Julian stepped out from inside.
But why was he carrying a woman?
Seeing Julian enter alone but emerge with a woman slung over his shoulder—
His actions were just like a mountain bandit who had abducted a village girl.
Even these highly educated councillors and royal family members couldn't help but let their imaginations run wild when they saw a woman on Julian's shoulder.
Could it be that Julian had taken a liking to some woman inside the secret realm?
Maybe she refused, so he knocked her unconscious and carried her out, planning to deal with her later.
It might be possible—but wasn't this a bit too blatant?
After all, so many people were watching.
Moreover, this woman was most likely a trainer from their country. Wasn't Julian going too far by doing this?
"This is actually a good thing," one councilor suddenly said, his eyes lighting up.
The councilors beside him immediately seemed to realize something and nodded.
If Julian got involved with a female trainer from their country, wouldn't that mean he had established some kind of personal connection with them?
Then this incident wouldn't be about losing national pride anymore. Instead, it could turn into something beneficial.
Who knew—maybe Anglia and Drakoria could even become in-laws.
[T/N: For those of you who noticed... yeah I made an error previously. For those who didn't, well enjoy!]
