Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth

Chapter 923: Sacrifice

Chapter 923: Sacrifice

Since its birth, Yveltal had never been so severely injured; even its arch-nemesis Xerneas had never inflicted such massive damage on it.

The Giga Impacts from the twin dragons lasted a full thirty seconds. Centered around Yveltal, the clash of their attacks shattered the surrounding space into fragments.

Under the immense pressure, the sea within a radius of dozens of kilometers sank, revealing the seabed below. The displaced seawater naturally formed a colossal wave.

It surged directly toward Babath.

Originally, all four First-class Legendaries had already moved their battle away from Babath's mainland. However, the colossal wave formed by the aftermath of their fight was enough to submerge the entire nation.

Babath: 'Just destroy me already. I'm tired.'

As the Giga Impacts came to an end, Yveltal, with its bones completely shattered, collapsed to the seabed. The power of death within it emerged once again, beginning to heal its injuries.

But this time its injuries were too severe. Even if the death energy could heal it, it would still take time.

Most importantly, it depended on whether Julian would give it that time.

"Mewtwo, Psystrike!"

The twin dragons were somewhat exhausted after using Giga Impact at full strength, and their condition had already been less than ideal. So, Julian chose not to let them continue attacking.

"You two, block that colossal wave," Julian said.

Under such a wave, the people of Babath would likely all perish. And if they died, the resulting death energy, if absorbed by Yveltal, would be enough to restore it to its peak.

So these people could not die. Moreover, apart from the majority being Babath citizens, there were also people from other countries in Babath, and surely many from Drakoria as well.

Swish!

Psystrike once again transformed into an incredibly sharp wave, its substantial psychic energy causing space itself to tremble.

The wave aimed directly at Yveltal's neck, as if intending to sever it in one strike.

Faced with a life-threatening attack, Yveltal stopped channeling the death energy into healing and instead gathered every bit of power it had, forming a pitch-black protective barrier.

BOOOM!!!!

Psystrike struck the barrier and was blocked, but the force of the impact drove Yveltal’s body even deeper into the ocean floor.

"You sure have a lot of tricks up your sleeve. Too bad none of them work anymore."

Julian snorted coldly and continued, "Mewtwo, Ancient Power."

"Julian! Yveltal will never lose. You're doomed!"

Lyle had somehow made his way from Babath to this place, his face now contorted with madness. After all, the god he revered in his heart had been beaten by Julian into a tattered, feathered bird, and was now on the brink of death.

"Where did you—"

Julian had just begun to speak to Lyle when the latter pulled out a dagger and plunged it directly into his own heart.

Lyle collapsed to the ground almost instantly. He looked toward Yveltal’s direction and whispered, "Let me become a part of your power…"

"Yveltal!"

Using the last of his strength, he cried out its name.

The next second, he breathed his last.

The instant Lyle's life faded, a massive surge of black mist rose from his corpse. Seeing that black mist, Julian felt a strong sense of foreboding.

"Metagross—"

Julian had just begun to order Metagross to disperse the black mist when he saw it instantly merge into the fallen Yveltal.

And then, Yveltal was reborn.

As though time had reversed, the wounds covering its body vanished instantly as the black mist merged with it. There was no healing process—it simply returned to an uninjured state in an instant.

"Yveltal—!!"

A sharp cry erupted from its throat. With a powerful flap of its wings, it struck Mewtwo's attack. With a loud boom, the rocks were shattered, and Yveltal's body was sent flying back several dozen kilometers.

"Completely healed? Damnit!"

Julian clenched his fists tightly. Seeing Yveltal fully restored made his expression grow impossibly dark. After all the effort it had taken to bring it to such a state, everything had to start all over again.

Moreover, the aura emanating from Yveltal was even stronger than when it had first appeared.

---

It wasn’t just Julian's imagination. Seeing with the Probing Eyes, Yveltal’s level had indeed risen from 107 to 108, now only one level lower than Mewtwo.

Could the energy released by Lyle's death really be this immense, capable of boosting a First-class Legendary like Yveltal by an entire level?

Perhaps it was because Lyle was Yveltal’s summoner.

That seemed to be the only explanation.

This had become troublesome.

Mewtwo could only remain for five minutes, and over three minutes had already passed. That meant there was just a little over a minute left.

The twin dragons were also in a weakened state. If they continued to fight and suffered heavy damage, they would fall into a deep slumber—one that could last centuries without intervention.

The system shop did have items that could heal First-class Legendaries, but the required points were so exorbitant that Julian felt it would be better to let them sleep for a few hundred years—after all, they wouldn't die anyway.

Facing a Yveltal that was now only one level lower than Mewtwo, fully healed, and with Mewtwo's remaining time limited to just over a minute, Julian was getting a headache.

The effect of Unown's Protection had also long since faded.

And summoning Kyogre would likely drain his lifespan completely, even if he had plenty to spare.

The key issue was that Kyogre wasn't strong enough. Even if it came, it wouldn't be of much use.

The current Yveltal had at least the combat strength of four or even five Kyogres.

> "This guy's cheating!"

> "What do we do now? Lyle sacrificed himself, and Yveltal became unstoppable. Champion Walker finally managed to severely injure it, and now we're back to square one."

> "So this is the God of Death? It has way too many tricks, truly terrifying!"

> "I don't think there's any need to worry. Champion Walker still has Mewtwo and the Black and White Dragons. They can definitely defeat it again."

> "The Black and White Dragons are already in bad shape. The only one Champion Walker can truly rely on now is Mewtwo."

---

Witnessing Lyle's sacrifice and Yveltal's recovery, the entire world was in an uproar.

Just moments ago, when Yveltal was severely injured, everyone thought the battle was finally nearing its end. Many news outlets had already drafted their articles, ready to publish as soon as the fight concluded.

But then they watched as Yveltal was restored to full health right before their eyes, and the battle's outcome became uncertain once again.

Moreover, many noticed the grim expression on Julian's face, and a sense of foreboding began to settle in their hearts.
