Chapter 940: Chapter 1157: Xerneas

"Mew, do you know Xerneas?"

After playing around for a while, Julian finally remembered the purpose of his visit.

That was close—he had almost forgotten he came to ask Mew for help, not just to pet it.

"I do."

Mew, enjoying the petting, narrowed its eyes and shifted positions from time to time.

As the God of Life, Xerneas slumbered within an Ancient Giant Tree as well. Mew had actually slept in the same place as it over a thousand years ago.

"Do you want to go see it? I can take you there," Mew said.

Julian hadn't expected this bonus—Mew even knew where Xerneas was sleeping.

No wonder this little guy was called the wanderer of the Pokémon world—when it wasn't sleeping, it roamed everywhere.

"Maybe another time, not right now."

Julian shook his head. He didn't have much time at the moment—he had already agreed that the other party could call again in three days.

Otherwise, he would definitely have Mew take him to see Xerneas. If it happened to be awake, he could try to build a good relationship.

Who knew—maybe if it was pleased, it might share its life energy and grant him eternal life.

"Mew, do you know the locations of all the First-class Legendaries?" Julian asked curiously.

Mew thought for a moment, then nodded. "I think so."

Even it wasn't sure how many First-class Legendaries it had encountered, but its memory seemed to contain quite a lot.

"Mew, I need to ask you for a favor," Julian said.

Mew tilted its head, as if asking what it was.

"Transform into Xerneas for me."

Although it didn't understand why Julian wanted it to become Xerneas, Mew still nodded and floated out of his arms.

Its body traced a perfect circle in the air.

And the next second, a Pokémon resembling a deer appeared before Julian. Its body was blue and black, with eight antler-like branches extending from its head.

Its entire being radiated a strong aura of life.

Xerneas!

Although Julian had never seen the real Xerneas, the one Mew had transformed into likely wasn't too far off from the genuine one.

After all, Mew was said to possess the genes of all Pokémon, making it their ancestor.

Because of this, its transformation ability was incredibly powerful, capable of perfectly imitating the real thing.

"Is this okay?"

Mew noticed Julian spacing out and couldn't help but ask.

"Yes, that's perfect. Mew, now lie down and pretend to be asleep."

Julian quickly nodded.

He then took out his phone and started snapping photos of the sleeping "Xerneas" from various angles.

He even had Celebi hold the phone to record a video.

"Here, my friend, this is Xerneas. It's currently asleep and needs a specific item to wake up, and I have that item."

Julian stood beside the sleeping "Xerneas," resting his left hand on its antlers, giving them a light tap.

"Didn't lie to you, right? Xerneas, the God of Life—the key to immortality."

With that, the video ended.

"Alright, Mew, you can change back now," Julian said.

"Mew~"

Mew returned to its original form.

"What were you doing?"

"Scamming some bad people. I'm going to trick them out of everything they've got."

The malicious grin on Julian's face sent a shiver down even Mew's spine.

The two little ones hovering in the air felt that whoever Julian had in mind was in for a terrible fate. Seriously, why provoke Julian, of all people—a guy who never forgets a grudge?

Julian spent the next two days in the Ruin with Mew.

He finally got his fill of petting it, while Mew felt like it was going bald from all the affection.

After leaving Mew ten boxes of its exclusive Pokéblocks, Julian left the Ruin.

On the third night, the Master's call came as promised.

"Right on time—not even a second late."

"Getting impatient, are we?"

Julian said mockingly.

"Julian, cut the crap. Where's the evidence?"

A voice came through the phone, noticeably colder.

"It's on my phone. How do you want me to send it?" Julian asked.

"I'll give you an email—send it there."

With that, the other side hung up.

Soon after, Julian received an email address on his phone.

He sent the photos and video directly to that inbox.

Then, he lay down on his bed and started scrolling through TikTok.

> "Ice City has a lot of southern "little potatoes" visiting—they're short, wearing light-colored down jackets, cute hats, sitting on their suitcases with their legs not even touching the ground. If you see that, you've basically spotted a little Southern potato."

> "To welcome the Southern little potatoes, we in Ice City didn't even use de-icing agents—just so they could see the snow."

Julian scrolled through over a dozen TikToks, half of which were about "Southern little potatoes"—southern girls traveling to the northern Ice City.

Because of regional and cultural differences, people in the north were generally more bold and straightforward, including many netizens living there.

Meanwhile, many Southern girls spoke softly and gently, with a warm, endearing quality. On top of that, quite a few of them were relatively petite, so northern netizens jokingly called them "southern little potatoes."

"Ice City is freezing—why would anyone go there? People really have nothing better to do."

Julian muttered as he continued scrolling. He had no interest in watching these videos.

What did the north have right now? Nothing but snow and ice, with temperatures reaching minus ten or even dozens of degrees below zero.

Having lived at Imperial University for several years, Julian knew just how cold it could get there.

Of course, the capital was still warmer than Ice City.

That region was the coldest part of the country.

"Jiggly~ puff—"

A call came in—it hadn't even been four minutes.

Julian directly hung up.

He had just stumbled upon a video of pretty girls dancing—no way he was answering.

"Jiggly~ puff—"

The phone rang again.

Julian hung up once more.

Third time—hung up again.

On the fourth ring, he finally answered.

"Sorry, I accidentally pressed the wrong button."

Huff… huff… huff!!

Julian seemed to hear slightly hurried breathing from the other side.

"You accidentally pressed the wrong button three times?! Julian, do you take me for a fool?"

The voice came through the phone, laced with fury.

She couldn't even remember how long it had been since someone dared to hang up on her—let alone three times. If it had been anyone other than Julian, even another country's Champion, she would have done everything in her power to kill them.

"Don't misunderstand, I really did hit the wrong button. My finger just slipped three times."

Julian said nonchalantly, his thumb still scrolling through TikTok.

He had forgotten that his phone was connected to Wi-Fi, so the call wouldn't affect his internet at all.

Not that it would have mattered if he had remembered—he still would have hung up.

As for the reason—there wasn't one. He just felt like messing with her.
