Chapter 939: Chapter 1156: Mew

After using their combined attack, the three Regis no longer had any strength left to stand. Moltres landed beside Julian and curled its beak in disdain.

"Next time, find me stronger opponents. Something on Metagross's level would be about right."

Julian glanced at Moltres. "Say that again when Metagross is actually here."

This bird was clearly getting cocky just because Metagross wasn't around.

An opponent on Metagross's level? If one really showed up, Moltres would end up just like the three Regis.

"Let's go."

Mounting Moltres, Julian headed toward the Ancient Giant Tree.

Seeing this, the Regis desperately tried to get up, their indicator lights flashing frantically. But with their energy completely depleted, they could only watch helplessly as Julian and Moltres left.

Under Moltres's intimidating aura, the Pokémon inhabiting the Ancient Giant Tree naturally didn't dare approach.

"Julian, I hate that b*tch."

Celebi was lying on Julian's head, tugging at his hair, looking utterly displeased.

In Celebi's view, Mew only pretended to be innocent, but was actually full of scheming thoughts.

"Don't talk nonsense—Mew is a good kid."

Julian didn't even know whether Mew was still on the Ancient Giant Tree, so he couldn't just agree with Celebi. What if Mew overheard?

He still needed Mew's help, after all.

"Hmph, I knew it—you like that little b*tch more."

Celebi got angry and tugged even harder at Julian's hair.

The Ancient Giant Tree was enormous, and Julian had no idea where Mew might be.

"Didn't you go to Mew's place last time? Take me there," Julian said to Celebi.

"In your dreams."

Celebi shook its head. There was no way it would help him go see that annoying thing again.

"Two hundred."

Julian held up two fingers.

Celebi's previously firm expression immediately wavered, but it quickly regained its resolve.

"No way."

"Four hundred."

Julian smirked and raised the price.

Celebi's body trembled slightly, its face showing clear struggle.

On the side, Jirachi was clearly excited.

"Celebi, four hundred bucks! If you say yes to Julian, you'll get four hundred!"

"Julian, I won't be bought off by your money!"

Celebi declared loudly, covering its ears with both hands.

"Eight hundred."

This time, Celebi's body trembled even more.

Covering its ears?

As if that would really work.

"Plus three 'Ken's 10-off-50' discount coupons."

"Deal!"

Celebi immediately dropped its hands from its ears and hurriedly agreed.

"Didn't you say that you wouldn't be bought by money? So why the quick surrender?" Julian said with a look of disdain.

With the resolve it was showing earlier, he thought it would hold out longer.

"With eight hundred bucks added to what I've already saved, I can buy a special collector's skin for my Pyroar!"

Celebi said, looking pleased with itself.

After saying that, it eyed Julian warily: "You better not trick me. You must give me the eight hundred when the time comes."

Julian had been wondering about how Celebi had even managed to save the money, but upon hearing that, he said irritably, "I don't need to lie to fools."

"You're the fool, you blockhead!"

Celebi stood up on Julian's head and then plopped down hard, trying to punish him that way.

"Hurry up and lead the way, or I'll change my mind."

Julian grabbed Celebi off his head and tossed it forward.

With Celebi leading the way, Julian followed on Moltres.

Before long, Celebi stopped in front of a tree hollow.

"That b*tch is in there."

Celebi pointed angrily at the tree hollow.

Julian leaned over to take a look and found that Mew was indeed inside.

It was wrapped inside a bubble, sleeping soundly.

Inside the hollow were also a few boxes of the exclusive Pokéblocks Julian had given it—but they were all empty. Clearly, Mew had already finished them all.

After all, it had been two or three years since he last gave Mew those Pokéblocks.

Julian was right at its doorstep, and yet Mew was still sleeping.

It wasn't that Mew was a heavy sleeper or couldn't sense danger.

At its level, how could it not know someone had arrived at its home?

It simply hadn't woken up because it didn't sense any threat.

Julian reached out and gently poked the bubble surrounding Mew.

Pop!

The bubble burst instantly.

"Mew…"

Mew slowly woke up as the bubble broke.

But before it was even fully awake, it felt its body being picked up, and then a hand started gently stroking its belly.

'Yes, that's the feeling.'

'Top-notch. Absolutely top-notch.'

With an expression like an infatuated fan, Julian continued petting Mew.

Then, he buried his entire face into Mew's belly and took a few deep breaths.

Mew was still in a daze.

'What's happening? What's going on?'

The confused Mew was handled like a plush toy as Julian rubbed and sniffed it.

Only after a while did it finally react, realizing that there was only one person who would dare do something like this to it.

"Mew?"

Mew: "Julian, why are you here?"

Mew wanted to break free from Julian's grasp, but he was holding too tightly, and it was afraid of hurting him if it used force, so it gave up.

"I missed you, so I came to see you."

A classic playboy line.

'Even tricking Pokémon—Julian, you're really something.'

Celebi cursed in its heart.

"Then I missed you too."

Mew felt it should be polite. Since Julian said he missed it, it should say the same, otherwise he might feel sad—even though it had been sleeping all these years.

"Hahaha, then it's mutual."

Julian chuckled, gently pinching Mew's soft cheek.

This feeling was way better than Celebi's greasy cheek.

Plus, Mew didn't shed, so no worries about getting fur all over himself.

"Mew~"

Although it didn't quite understand what "mutual" meant, Mew still nodded cooperatively.

Just then, the three Regis suddenly came up.

It seemed they had recovered some energy and rushed over anxiously.

Moltres: "You losers—wasn't that beating just now painful enough?"

Hearing that, the indicator lights on the Regis' heads flickered continuously, but they didn't attack.

They had only just recovered a bit of stamina. Even at full strength they weren't Moltres's match—let alone now.

"Mew~"

Seeing this, Mew softly called toward the entrance of the hollow.

Hearing Mew's call, the three Regis hesitated for a moment, then left one after another.

"That's it? Leaving already? Take care, don't come back!"

Moltres called out from behind.

In terms of sharp tongues, Moltres was on par with Celebi—both were masters of trash talk.

Fortunately, Moltres was strong. Aside from Metagross, it wasn't afraid of Julian's other Pokémon.

As for Celebi, it was simply because it knew Julian wouldn't really do anything to it, so it constantly pushed boundaries and provoked him.

And whenever it needed something from Julian, it would immediately call him "Dad."

It had absolutely no sense of shame.
