Looking at Aggron’s level and its extravagant attributes, Julian felt a deep sense of satisfaction.
This was what so-called "raising and nurturing" should be like.
Step by step, nurturing a weak Pokémon until it could challenge the heavens themselves.
In terms of imposing appearance, Aggron was definitely the most domineering among all of Julian’s Pokémon. The second would be Tyranitar, though that one was domineering with a hint of wicked charm mixed in.
"Alright, that’s enough."
Julian patted Aggron’s leg—there was no helping it, this guy was too tall.
It had originally been over seven meters tall, and after becoming a Champion-level Pokémon, it had grown again, now estimated to be around nine meters tall.
That was as tall as a three-story building. Standing before it, Julian was like a watermelon in front of a human—not exactly small, but certainly not large either.
Once the roar ended, Aggron lowered its body, rubbing its large head against Julian—its joy and excitement were palpable.
"You’ve grown this big already, don’t act like a child anymore."
Patting Aggron's head, Julian's eyes held a trace of nostalgia for when it was still an Aron—back then, he could hold it in his arms.
Of course, he could still lift it now, thanks to his Mega Pallet Town Physique. Julian had tested his strength limit to be around twenty tons.
A normal Aggron stood around 2.1 meters tall and weighed 360 kg. Julian's Aggron had the ability Heavy Metal, which doubled its weight. In addition, it was a Totem-class Pokémon.
Moreover, his Aggron had always fed primarily on various metal ores.
Therefore, its current weight should be around four tons.
With just this weight alone, a single stomp relying purely on its mass would be something Pokémon below the pseudo-Elite level basically couldn't withstand.
Aggron stood up straight, looked at Metagross, and patted its own body.
Aggron: "Come on, give me your best shot!"
It wanted to see just how high its defense had become after reaching the Champion-level. The best way was to have the strongest, Metagross, hit it once.
"Hit you, my foot!"
Julian kicked Aggron.
'Damn, my foot hurts.'
"Don't you know this is Grandma's house? If you want to fight, go outside!"
He glared unhappily at the big guy. A clash between them would not only level the Cavendish family estate with the resulting shockwave but also cause massive destruction throughout Orient City.
Metagross simply ignored it.
Aggron just scratched its head sheepishly, watching its trainer gently rubbing his leg, which secretly amused it.
Originally, there were four Rare Candies. Aggron ate three, and Julian gave the last one to Lucario, raising its level from 85 to 86.
The Poké Balls of Pseudo-Champion Pokémon like Arcanine, Kartana, and Dragonite all shook, especially Arcanine's ball, which shook so violently it almost fell off Julian's belt.
It wasn't out of dissatisfaction; these guys were just jealous.
"Alright, you lot, you should be ashamed. Do you put in even half the training effort Lucario does?"
At those words, the shaking of the Poké Balls stopped... except Kartana's was still shaking.
To be fair, Kartana's daily proactive training volume really was about the same as Lucario's.
Julian: 'Damn, miscalculated.'
But it was fine. Julian patted Kartana's Poké Ball: "True powerhouses don't need to rely on external aids."
Upon hearing that, Kartana's ball shook even more violently.
'Damnit, do you really think I'm still that innocent Kartana from back then? What's wrong with external aids? Using this kind of aid doesn't affect your foundation at all.'
Kartana even started to suspect that Julian had been gaslighting it all along.
Cold sweat trickled down Julian's forehead. How did this guy suddenly wise up? These kind of lines used to work like a charm before.
Now this trick seemed to have become useless.
"Alright, alright, you'll get one next time."
Helpless, Julian could only say that.
As soon as he finished, the other Poké Balls started shaking again.
"One at a time, and it's not like you've never had any before. Whoever's level is higher gets it next time, simple as that." Julian wasn't about to be bullied either.
Each and every one of them was a slacker, all wanting to become stronger without putting in effort.
Including Aggron, Julian now had four Champion-level Pokémon.
Thus, he completed the fourth stage of the Main Quest.
The reward for the fourth stage Main Quest was 300,000 points and special ability; Dragon Mastery (Intermediate).
A burst of warm current flashed through his body, and the Intermediate Dragon Mastery integration was complete.
"Pity it's only Intermediate."
Julian shook his head. Intermediate-level Dragon Mastery was decent for boosting Elite-level Dragon types, but its effect was much weaker for Pseudo-Champion Dragons.
Let alone for Champions.
Moreover, Julian currently also had two Dragon-type First-class Legendaries.
This Intermediate-level Dragon Mastery was utterly useless for Reshiram and Zekrom, unless it was Advanced-level.
He didn't have an Upgrade Card right now either, so he could only hope the Daily Mission rewards might provide one later.
And there were only two more Champion-level Pokémon left before the Main Quest was fully completed.
Based on the current strength of his Pokémon, the highest level among the Pseudo-Champions was Lucario at 86, followed by Dragonite and Kartana, both at 85.
So, most likely, Lucario would become Julian's fifth Champion-level Pokémon.
"Luca~"
As if sensing Julian's expectations for it, Lucario's eyes grew slightly more determined. From now on, training volume would double, double, and double again.
Lucario’s resolve was simultaneously fed back into Julian’s mind.
After all, their Aura compatibility was extremely high.
In terms of compatibility alone, Metagross shared the highest with Julian, with Lucario a close second, and the gap between them wasn't large.
"Just do what you can within your limits."
Julian smiled. Training hard was good, but there was no need to put too much pressure on oneself. He had cheats, after all. If his Pokémon trained too hard, what would he use his cheats for? Decoration?
