Chapter 978: Chapter 1195: Re-entering The Secret Realm
After Gemma successfully captured Duraludon, she skipped over to Julian, beaming with joy.
"Thank you, Coach!"
"Mm."
Julian nodded, then asked with a hint of anticipation, "Is there anything else you need my help with?"
Gemma didn't understand why he was asking that, but she quickly shook her head. "No, nothing else. And I can't keep troubling you all the time."
She meant it—there really wasn't anything she needed help with right now.
"Are you sure there's nothing? Not even some kind of enemy?" Julian pressed, unwilling to let it go.
"Nope." Gemma shook her head.
"What about a love rival? You must have one, right? I can go beat her up for you."
Gemma suddenly froze—how could he talk about beating some stranger so casually?
"No, no!"
She hurriedly shook her head.
"Fine, if there's really nothing, then forget it."
Julian sighed, feeling somewhat disappointed.
If this NPC didn't need his help, then there definitely wouldn't be any Quests coming from her.
He had triggered two Temporary Missions from Gemma already—something unprecedented—so Julian was convinced this woman was an NPC.
"Love, see the guest out."
Since there were no Quests, why was she still in his house? Just looking at her annoyed him.
Gemma: ....?
She was completely baffled by Julian's sudden change in attitude. One moment, Julian was warmly asking if she needed help, and in the blink of an eye, she was being shown the door.
Wasn't this change a bit too drastic?
And just like that, Love escorted Gemma out.
"Slowking, get things ready. Tomorrow we're heading to the Primal Secret Realm," Julian said to Slowking beside him.
Jake and the others had already come out of the Primal Secret Realm, so now it was his turn to go in again.
As for the deal with Organization Y, that would have to wait until he returned from the Secret Realm.
Right now, they were probably searching for the Cocoon of Destruction. And who knew how long it would take them to find it?
Julian couldn't just sit around waiting for them—what if it took a year, or even several years?
"Slow~"
Slowking nodded. Looks like a major shopping trip was in order.
So, calling on Magearna and Lucario, it headed out the door, already mentally listing all the ingredients it needed to buy.
Even though Lucario had reached the Champion tier, it still couldn't escape its role as Love and Slowking's designated grocery-carrying sidekick.
Lucario was simply the most suitable for carrying groceries with both paws. Pokémon like Dragonite were too bulky, and Melmetal didn't even have proper fingers to hold things.
As for the Primal Secret Realm, Julian had already explored two areas.
The first was the Obsidian Fieldlands, with the King area being the Grandtree Arena.
The second was the Crimson Mirelands, with the King area being the Brava Arena.
And now he had arrived at the third region. From the local Pokémon, he learned that this area was called the Cobalt Coastlands, and his current location was Ginkgo Landings—in other words, he was by the sea.
"Alright, get out of here. I didn't even hit you that hard. Why are you crying? So pathetic."
Julian gave a light kick to a Pseudo-Champion level Primarina. How could its courage be this small? How did it even reach Pseudo-Champion with guts like this?
Primarina sniffled, tears and snot streaming down its face. Hearing Julian's words only made it feel even more wronged.
'How can I not be scared? I was just sunbathing on the beach like I always do, and the moment you show up, you have Salamence beat me up.'
'And this Salamence looks so vicious, too. It's still pinning me down with its claws—it probably wants to eat me!'
Hearing Julian's dismissal, Primarina immediately fled for its life.
"Wait."
Julian suddenly remembered something and called it back.
Primarina froze mid-escape, turning its head back with great difficulty, terrified that this human had changed his mind.
Seeing Primarina on the verge of tears again, Julian looked down on it even more and said disdainfully, "Look how scared you are. Let me ask you—do you have any talented offspring? Bring me one."
It wasn't that he wanted a Primarina for himself; it was for his mom. She had mentioned that one of her students at university was very outstanding and had helped her significantly with a research project.
That student was a Water-type trainer and really liked Primarina, so Tina wanted to give them a Popplio as a gift.
Popplio was a relatively rare Water-type Pokémon.
Of course, with the Walker family's resources, acquiring one would be easy. A Cyan-grade Potential one would just be a matter of asking, and even a Blue-grade one could be obtained with a bit of time.
Tina had told Julian about this a while ago, but he'd completely forgotten. It was only upon seeing this Primarina now that her words came back to him.
"I do."
Primarina quickly nodded. It had plenty of talented offspring.
"Then bring one over," Julian said.
The requirement wasn't very high—just Cyan-grade would do.
And with that, Primarina left. Julian wasn't worried about it running away; Metagross could track it down in an instant, and if it came to that, it wouldn't end with just a beating.
After about ten minutes or so, Primarina returned with seven Popplio.
"These are all my offspring," Primarina said, a proud expression appearing on its face.
"Mm, impressive," Julian remarked.
Scanning them with the Probing Eyes, he saw that six of the seven Popplio had Cyan-grade Potential, and one actually had Blue.
This guy probably not only had a harem, but the quality of that harem was also exceptionally high.
Julian couldn't help but look at Primarina with newfound respect.
Hearing Julian's praise, Primarina's expression grew even more haughty and pleased.
The seven Popplio also curiously looked at Julian.
"I'll take this one."
Julian pointed at the most well-developed one among the six Cyan-grade Popplio.
He didn't choose the Blue one because it was clearly being raised by Primarina as its successor. Moreover, he was only doing this as a favor for his mother.
A Cyan-grade Pokémon was more than sufficient.
If he gave a Blue-grade one and the recipient lacked the strength to protect it, certain outsiders—even knowing it was a gift from the Walker family—might still be tempted to do something reckless.
After all, Blue meant the potential to reach Pseudo-Champion. How many Elite trainers were stuck at the peak of that rank precisely because of their Pokémon's limited Potential?
So compared to Blue-grade, Cyan was undoubtedly much safer.
'This human's eye for quality isn't great,' Primarina secretly scoffed at Julian. He couldn't even tell which of its offspring was the most outstanding.
It hadn't wanted to bring its most excellent progeny along in the first place, but it was afraid that Julian might notice something, so it had brought it anyway.
Luckily, Julian's "poor eyesight" failed to spot the difference, much to Primarina's relief.
Still, losing its second-best offspring made Primarina feel a bit pained.
After capturing the chosen Popplio, Julian waved his hand dismissively. "You can go now."
Primarina immediately fled with its remaining offspring. It didn't even bother asking whether Julian would treat its child well—it already knew this human wasn't a bad sort.
Sure, he'd given it a beating, but there had been no real malice behind it.
