Chapter 1000: Taming Quest (11)

Chapter 1000: Taming Quest (11)

Kent cracked his brain on how to handle Vey, the Phoenix queen.

Initially, he wanted to use his knowledge of the outside world to win her over.

Everybody knows the Phoenix Race prides themselves when it comes to their good looks. They are creatures who focus more on their appearance than on correcting their foul character.

So he planned to use beauty products from the human world to win her over. Sadly, he found out she can travel to the human world and back, meaning she already has those.

Naturally, that was a low blow to Kent.

The most harmless way possible, which he wanted to use to get what he wanted, turned out to be useless.

However, that doesn’t mean he couldn’t use other means too.

One method he wanted to use was asking Sylvara to display her Beast body. However, he wiped that idea, knowing Sylvara hated Vey for one of two reasons.

Vey has a crush on her.

This was like an insult to Sylvara, who is a serpent. Her nature compels her to resist such things. Perhaps it is genetic, but serpents are known to be sexually active beasts who like to be pampered by their mate.

Being hit on by a lady insulted her ego, so Kent chose not to put her through that torture. With the last harmless option gone, Kent began to think.

All his options that guaranteed both safety and peace were gone; however, it also forced him to think creatively.

His creativity led him to understand something about Vey’s flame.

The Golden Flame of Life and Death is similar to the Verdant Flame of Renewal. They both heal, just that the death aspect of the Golden Flame is bad for the Verdant Flame of Renewal.

So Kent thought, what if he also found a way to cancel both the life and death aspects of her Golden Flame?

That was when the answer he sought came to him in the form of another nirvana flame. The Umbral Flame of Oblivion is the answer, and with that, he was able to suppress Vey.

The Umbral Flame of Oblivion is dangerous and very destructive. It burns slowly and inflicts agonizing pain, so he knew that was the answer.

Now, Kent could only smile as he sat in a lotus posture, feeling his Verdant Flame of Renewal grow stronger by the second.

’Turns out the healing factor of the flame in this domain is like food to my Nirvana Flames,’ Kent said inwardly.

’Makes me wonder what will become of my Nirvana Flames once I locate the true seeds and absorb them.’

Even now, without knowing how or when, he could tell the Nirvana Flames were a part of him in his past life as Chaos.

So he could only bide his time and slowly rise until he could get to them yet again and continue from where they left off.

Vey held a close look at Kent, who remained still, feeling his strength surge.

After an hour, he looked at Vey and asked, "When did you come into contact with a Nirvana Flame?"

"I didn’t," Vey answered, feeling annoyed that she couldn’t bring herself to act arrogant. If she isn’t afraid of the monarch glaring at her, then two people are making her restless.

One of them is, of course, Kent, who, despite being a Core Formation brat, the danger coming from him keeps making her feel like death was staring at her.

The second being Sylvara, whom she just couldn’t wrap her mind around, how that was possible.

The Sylvara she knew wasn’t weak, but she wasn’t strong to the point that she could make her hair stand on end. In that case, then why is she feeling this restless?

Kent smiled, hearing her answer, "I am no idiot, Vey. I have nine Nirvana Flames, so I know I can smell the Radiant Flame of Purity on you."

"I really haven’t been in contact with a Nirvana Flame until today. However, I once came into contact with something that had traces of Nirvana Flames."

"Oh." Kent’s interest was piqued. "Do tell."

Vey decided to spill the beans, after all, she had already invited the annoying human, and hearing he had all nine Nirvana Flames piqued her interest too.

"When I was young, my mother won a map in an auction. According to her, this map leads to the location of a Nirvana Flame seed. Now I know it is the Radiant Flame of Purity.

I only came into contact with it when my mom, in an attempt to locate this place, vanished without a trace."

"Wait... She went looking without the map?" Sylvara suddenly asked, and Vey shook her head.

"The map was too valuable, so she made a copy, leaving the real one behind." Vey turned to Kent and said, "The aura you felt came from this."

A leather that doesn’t seem to be a leather but more like a soft metallic material appeared in her hand. The moment Kent saw it, his eyes turned white, causing the Radiant Flame of Purity to ooze from his eyes.

Everyone around Kent felt their bodies lighten, almost as if they were being cleansed. The feeling was rather pleasant; however, it vanished when Kent’s eyes returned to their unusual purple hue.

He waved his hand, and the map flew into his hand.

"It’s indeed a map leading to a Nirvana Flame. I can sense it," Kent muttered, causing Vey’s eyes to brighten.

"Mother thinks so, too. However, she went missing before she could find it. Not that I had any hopes of returning to myself."

"Why did you say that?" Kent asked, and Vey sighed.

"It is because to get to the gateway leading to the location of the Nirvana Flame seed, one must cross the Sea of Calamities.

This sea is said to only allow those below the Demigod stage to enter, but rumour has it that there are even Demigod-grade beasts hidden within, called the Calamities.

Mother was an Immortal Lord with 58 limits broken on her body and a medium-grade Primordial Flame as her core flame when she embarked on her journey, but even she fell.

And it wasn’t just her; many others like her, some even more powerful than her, also fell. So you tell me, how can she return to me if she hadn’t already turned into piles of bones under the sea?"

Kent didn’t know what to say, so he just sighed.

However, he was certain about one thing, and that was, he had just discovered a map that led to one of his Nirvana Flames.

This means he was already one step closer to reclaiming what is rightfully his.

However, he must first handle his business.

"No need to worry, Vey. If she is alive, then naturally she will find her way back to you. However, I am here today to ask you to become my subordinate and help me handle someone I believe you would love to see dead."

"I am listening."

Kent smiled, "In exchange for your service, which involves holding back the minions of the Planet King, I will help you awaken your innate beast body, breach the 30th limit, leave this damn place, and even help you ascend to a great immortal world.

All I ask is for your loyalty and help in my battle against the Planet King."

"I am in," Vey said, shocking everyone except Kent.
