Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1155: Jest’s Name

Chapter 1155: Jest’s Name

Immortal Ritsu and Willa led Jest into the gate under the gaze of every potential disciple.

Many were jealous of him, not because he got to get in faster than they did, but because he managed to climb the Infinity Stairway that is famous for remaining unconquered for years now.

Words hadn’t reached the disciples in the sect yet, so for now, the haters and those who would try to prove something would come and try their luck as if it were some game.

But before that, those who saw themselves as high and mighty were now pissed. The rude and arrogant heirs of the prestigious immortal families were pissed.

They would smear Jest’s name, ridicule him, and even go as far as to tarnish his reputation and defame him.

However, Jest had been a slave before, and like the Sword Dao said, he was still a slave at heart. So someone like that, who had experienced the harshest life out there, most certainly wouldn’t mind a few jests here and there.

Perhaps due to the life ahead of him, his mom gave him a name for it.

"Jest... That is an unusual name," Immortal Lord Willa said, giving Jest a sidelong glance.

Jest smiled. "Imagine my shock when, on one of my many adventures in the lower realm—oh, did I mention I came from the lower realm? Well, I did, and it is an amazing place in case you are wondering.

Now back to my story...

...Imagine my shock one day when I happened to chance upon a secret archive of a long-dead immortal. I do not know his name, but he seemed to be obsessed with a certain dragon said to have ruled the primordial era.

At first, I only saw him as a joke. However, after perusing through the many scrolls I found, I was inclined to believe it.

That dragon was a menace, and I, for one, would love to stay far away from him." Jest smiled, causing the two immortal lords to look at him wryly.

"How does this have anything to do with you being called Jest?"

Jest chuckled, looking at the dull look on Immortal Lord Ritsu’s face.

"Picture a terrifying dragon who rules an entire era, but his name is Chaos. I mean, that doesn’t sound like someone who should have been allowed to rule an entire generation, right?

Chaos.

I mean, he can just wake up one day and say, ’Let there be chaos,’ and everything will go haywire.

The point is, a name is important, but it’s also a silly thing we often use to gauge how amusing we are. My name is Jest, a rather unserious name for a handsome person like me.

Somewhere far away, there can be an extremely handsome and rich young lord who likes to sit by the beach and read, but his name will be SGTCWBY.

At the end of the day, it is whether or not we actually take our name and make it memorable."

Jest chuckled. "Sometimes, we even end up with completely different names simply because of how amazing we are. So if a name like Chaos once ruled an era, then perhaps a Jest can also become something, someone more than a joke."

"SGTCWBY, what kind of name is that?" Immortal Lord Willa asked, genuinely intrigued and slightly disturbed. Her best takeaway from all Jest said was the unpronounceable name.

She couldn’t pronounce it well.

Jest smiled weakly and said, "Maybe it is an acronym."

"What is an acronym?"

"I have no idea." Jest looked up and saw a large, beautiful gate 300 meters away. He turned and looked at Immortal Lord Ritsu.

Knowing what he wanted to ask, the man sighed and answered, "The gate behind us is part of a formation that protects the sect from danger.

The real gate is the one in front of us. It acts as a teleportation gate and an entrance into the sect."

"Oh, that is thoughtful. How quaint."

Jest examined the gate and looked at a 400-meter-tall, 200-meter-wide high-quality jade stone used as a door.

He only smiled inwardly and wondered just what else these immortals considered waste.

This amount of jade could handle the cultivation of millions of people for millions of years in the lower realm. Here, it was being used as a gate.

A few minutes later, they walked through it and entered the sect’s inner region immediately. It was, as expected, beautiful in every shape and size.

They practically appeared at the center of the inner sect, drawing many eyes. Walking with the acting sect leader and the vice surely warranted some much-needed attention.

Jest didn’t mind.

His mental strength was too firm to be bothered by this many judgmental stares.

’Potential targets to help me rise in the path to sword supremacy.’ Jest smiled in his head, knowing his intentions for joining the sect were anything but pure.

After walking for a few minutes, they arrived at a pagoda with 14 floors...

"This is the Sword Bridge..." Immortal Lord Ritsu began, but Jest cut him off.

"Excuse me, but I don’t see any bridge... Shouldn’t calling it Sword Pagoda be a catchier name?"

Immortal Lord Ritsu gave Jest the ’you think I don’t know that’ look.

Jest smiled and focused on the pagoda. Knowing the Immortal Lord was this close to snapping his head off, he shifted his focus to the reason they were here.

"So, like I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, this is the Sword Bridge, and as you can see, it has 14 floors, which we refer to as levels.

Each level has a unique swordsman or woman you must defeat using everything you can do with the sword. Know that you cannot use anything outside swordsmanship. This means only sword techniques and nothing else.

You will face a Sword King at the first level. If you manage to defeat that level, you will face Sword Emperors for levels 2, 3, and 4.

If you manage to pass level 2, you will become an inner disciple. If you can pass the 5th level, which is a Sword Divine, you will become a core disciple.

If, for some reason, I can’t believe I’m saying this... but if you manage to defeat level 8, you have a chance to comprehend the Great Arcana Sword Tablet, a treasure that every Sword Immortal gets to comprehend at least once in their life."

"How about level 14?" Jest asked with a small smile, causing Immortal Lord Ritsu’s mouth to twitch...

However, he answered, "Maybe focus on surviving a Sword King first before thinking about a Sword God."

Immortal Lord Willa smiled on the side and added, "Know that the moment you step onto the Sword Bridge, every last disciple will be able to watch you.

So, better take things seriously, because if you become the first disciple to fail at level 1, it will haunt you for the rest of your life."

Jest nodded and turned to Immortal Lord Ritsu. "Say I manage to become an inner disciple, can I challenge someone to a death match?"

Immortal Lord Ritsu had already seen the interaction between Jest and the heir at the sect entrance, so he knew for a fact that the two could not live under the same roof.

Jest clearly despised the poor heir.

’Maybe I should just fail the poor boy before this brat creates a problem for himself. That is Immortal Lord Taz’s son. If he dies, this bastard will never know peace even in here.’

"Focus on becoming a disciple first."

Some time later, Jest entered the pagoda. In the entire sect, projections appeared showing Jest challenging the Sword Bridge.

Even on the outside, the potential disciple gets to witness this challenge,
