Chapter 1204: Vexthra’s True Strength

Chapter 1204: Vexthra’s True Strength

Just like how there are eight rankings of immortals, there are also eight ranks of gods.

Once a cultivator ascends to become a god, they enter the God Ascension stage. This is the most basic stage that most demigods pursue for millions of years. Being there qualifies one to be called a god.

Some can go on for eternity, never meeting the requirements to become a god.

However, once a cultivator reaches the God Ascension stage, climbing the ladder becomes a complex process.

No matter what, one would face setbacks.

Most gods had even given up the idea of becoming an Early God or a Real God. They are content with being only at the God Ascension stage.

Unlike the immortal stage, where one can climb the ranking by forming immortal qis, the god stage is entirely different.

A demigod can become a god today, and then tomorrow, they will gain enlightenment and become an Early god. One can also become a god today, but even after a millennium, they wouldn’t even make a quarter of progress.

Some say it takes hard work, dedication, intelligence, and luck to climb the ranking of a god.

Climbing just one rank of godhood is already impossible, much less climbing all eight ranks and becoming a supreme. There, too, there is a whole lot of drama.

Orion is a True God, one of the strong ones.

He had been a True God for the past 15 million years. He had tried everything he could to ascend to the stage of a God King, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t take that one step.

Many gods came after him, but they had long surpassed the rank of a True God. However, he is stuck, and there is no telling when he will finally make the one step.

He mastered the law of space to a much deeper level, but the next stage keeps eluding him.

However, despite his status as a True God, even God Kings and God Emperors come to him for assistance when they face issues pertaining to the law of space.

There aren’t many gods who can use the law of space out there, after all.

So his importance is paramount in the god realm.

He holds the power to command respect from even God-kings. He holds the power to trap even God Kings in space, where, no matter how powerful they are, breaking free will be impossible.

So, imagine his shock when, with just a flick of her finger, his brother was hurled away, and his precious space lock was broken relatively easily.

Of course, he didn’t put much energy into that lock, since he knew Vexthra and Aerion wouldn’t have fought too dangerously.

But the fact that a mere flick on Vexthra’s hand was all it took to break it told Orion all he had to know.

The goddess currently standing at the base of the mountain, but staring at him inside his mansion, is no simple god.

On the surface, Vexthra is just like other gods.

However, she has already reached the rank of a Pseudo-Supreme, a stage that makes her almost a Supreme.

When Vexthra met Kent, she was only a True God who had taken the domain path, inheriting the divinity of hatred and resentment. Basically, she was destined to remain a god forever.

Yet after her True Name awakening, not only did she break through to the peak of godhood, but she even claimed her own law, making her an independent god again.

Thanks to that, she broke through to the Semi-Supreme Law stage, making her a Pseudo-Supreme in the law path. The only thing left for her to do was to take the Supreme Tribulation and become a Supreme.

However, Kent, for some reason, wants his wives to walk both the Law Path and the Ancient Path.

Gods nowadays only walk the Law Path since, to some degree, it is the easiest path. Of course, another reason for that was that the Ancient Path had long been lost to time.

Also, even if it exists today, no sane god will walk that path. It is dangerous, expensive, time-consuming, and complex.

However, Kent managed to recover the long-lost Ancient Path, so Vexthra is now cultivating it. She qualified to walk the Ancient Path when she awakened her Primordial Spirit.

So, while her Law is current, that of a Pseudo-Supreme, she cannot yet rise to the rank of a Supreme.

Even if Orion were to be a Universal God—the peak of godhood—he wouldn’t have stood a chance against her.

The current Vexthra, unless beseeched by dozens of gods or a supreme, will be next to impossible to hurt, much less force her to retreat.

Orion knew better, and so he wiped the blood off the corner of his lips and teleported to the base of the mountain, wearing a polite smile.

"Welcome to Spanta, Goddess Vexthra."

Vexthra looked at him for a few seconds before nodding. She may have changed thanks to being around mortals for the past year, but when she is in the god realm, some part of her divinity still lingers.

The coldness is just beneath the surface, telling everyone she is still the same.

"I have a favour to ask, so why don’t we sit first?"

"Of course. Please, this way," Orion gestured forward and started walking up the small mountain. Vexthra followed him.

All over Planet Spanta and beyond, news of Vexthra flicking the Storm God, sending him flying into the infinity of space, had already started to spread like wildfire.

It is just too bizarre.

The mere fact that the goddess of hatred and resentment had appeared on a planet instead of hiding in her domain was already too wild.

They know of her reputation, and many had wanted to catch a sight of her majestic self. However, until today, she hadn’t allowed anyone to enter her domain.

Most gods knew of her from memory recordings made by those who had seen her before.

...Yes, gods are weird too.

So, her appearing on Planet Spanta was already too wild. However, by the time most of them rushed to Planet Spanta, Orion had already locked the space around the planet.

He isn’t allowing anyone entry.

He is afraid of what will happen when Vexthra gets mad, so he locked his planet down. Once she leaves, he will open it and answer all their questions.

Of course, this was just his own way of saving his skin.

Although he was leading Vexthra up the mountain, his heart was beating wildly in his chest. He didn’t know much about Vexthra, so he had no idea what she would do next.

The only assurance he has now is that Vexthra is on his planet to ask him for a favour. That is the only reason he is calm. In a way, Vexthra needs his help, so he figured she wouldn’t make things hard for him.

’Goodness gracious, who knew I would be this afraid even after becoming a god?’ Orion laughed at himself inwardly. As a god, becoming afraid wasn’t in his nature, at least when facing other gods.

However, today, he was humbled.

Perhaps, if he learns from today’s lesson, he will finally be able to reach the rank of a God King.

Soon, they settled down under a spirit tree whose air contains divine energy. Just sitting under it is enough to recover lost divine energy.

Orion isn’t joking around.
