Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1216: Vae Mortis - She who Walks Between Shadow and Death

Chapter 1216: Vae Mortis - She who Walks Between Shadow and Death

Long before the war that ended the Chaos Era, when the underworld was in chaos, when hell had turned upside down, the one meant to bring order was just a quiet child born to a family of healers.

Vel’Zai was a quiet child, the kind that every mother would want their daughters to be like in times of great peril and chaos.

However, Vel’Zai was not loved like one would have expected. If anything, she was hated the most.

As a child born into the family of healers, awakening the power of death and shadows made her an outsider in her own family.

Her powers were to take and not to give. So she was shunned by her parents, siblings, and other family members, unaware that her destiny was much bigger than they could fathom.

Sometimes, to save the universe, one had to kill instead of heal. As they say, there are different types of healing. Her own was to use killing to heal it.

Instead of using precious energy to heal what is already rotten, cutting it down will be a much better solution.

However, no matter how hard she tried, she could never fit in. So with no other choice left, she decided to leave and never return.

She realised her path was not in her family, so she might as well seek her destiny elsewhere.

She journeyed to the farthest reach of the universe in search of her own destiny.

Of course, she planned to live a quiet life. However, with chaos everywhere, she had no choice but to walk the path she was born to walk.

Years later, the Chaos Reaper Assassin appeared in the universe.

Legends speak of her insidious nature as one of the most beautiful yet dangerous assassins to ever walk the face of the universe.

Her legacy was measured against the mother of assassins.

They said she comes with shadows and leaves with death.

Immortals and gods fell to her dagger.

In the hidden records, an account of the death marks was said to originate from her. They said that along the way, the universe made her their weapon, just as they did long before the primordial era, when they weaponised the Poison Queen.

Vel’Zai became their weapon, and all who they marked were killed by her, no matter how well they hid themselves.

Legend even speaks of her as the second coming of the Faceless Assassin, for she gets the job done, no matter how dangerous and stacked the odds are.

However, one day she vanished and wasn’t heard from for thousands of years. It got to the point that her name started to vanish from everyone’s mind.

However, when the Chaos Beast arrived, and the powerhouses rose to the occasion, Vel’Zai appeared and fought the harrowing battle with them.

In the end, nobody knew what happened to her. She just vanished, and with her, the legend of the Chaos Reaper Assassin died.

However, the universe didn’t want her to die just like that. They needed their weapon to rise again and continue her good work.

So they gave her a True Name, and that name is now about to be called. This time, they want her to rise as the Veil Assassin, for her death, darkness is needed again.

Kent and his wives stood back. The darkness swirling around Liora is not simple at all. In fact, they all can tell that just being touched by this darkness will consume their life like a hungry lion.

So to be on the safe side, they moved further back.

"When Kent awakened Vari and Lani’s True Name, only shadows were manifested. They were assassins, but they awakened shadows. So why is Liora manifesting darkness?" Unity asked, looking at the thick darkness surrounding Liora.

None of them could see what was happening within the darkness, for it was impenetrable. However, they knew something big was happening within the mist of darkness.

"I don’t know what is happening within the darkness, but I do know Liora will be coming out a completely different person," Adina muttered.

Enzi smiled evilly and replied, "You have no idea."

Just then, the moment for Kent to invoke her True Name came, so he stepped forward. When he was much closer to the darkness, he started to speak.

"She Who Walks Between Shadow and Death. The blade that shaped the ending of a beautiful era. You answered when called and fought through the thick and thin."

Kent paused, feeling a chill run down his spine. He turned and looked at Enzi, who smiled and winked at him. This sight made him super alert; however, he had to continue.

"You were once the blade of the universe. They gave you a mission, a purpose, and you accomplished it as it should be. So they gave you a name, a beautiful name that would give you back what they owe you, for you deserve to be paid.

Rise, Vae Mortis, your life has just begun."

"Huh"

Just when Kent invoked the name, the darkness expanded and enveloped him.

Far in the distance, Enzi smirked and muttered under her breath... "Punk."

Her sisters didn’t hear her because they were busy wondering what had just happened to their man. One minute, he was invoking Liora’s True Name; the next, he was swallowed by Death’s darkness.

If not because a similar thing happened when he awakened Enzi’s True Name, or that Unity and the others had already been through this before, they would have long run into the darkness.

However, aside from panicked expressions, they seemed okay.

[Inside the Darkness]

Kent, who was suddenly pulled into the darkness, expected to appear in a pitch-black space.

However, while the environment was dull and dark, what greeted him was a sight he never expected to see in his life. Naturally, the same coldness he had been feeling of late struck him, causing him to pause and hesitate.

Just like with Enzi, the lady sitting on a dark throne made of bones with a dark, dangerous look in her eyes, and an eagle standing on the armrest of the throne is Liora, but at the same time, not her.

She crossed her long, slender legs, using one hand to support her chin.

Just when Kent halted his steps, the eagle opened its wings as if it were trying to lunge at him. However, the lady brushed her body, calming her down, before looking at Kent.

"You look very different in this life, Aurelion Vaelros." She smiled, causing Kent to swallow his breath and narrow his gaze at her.

"Let me guess, I broke your heart, too, and now you are here to throw a tantrum."

"Wow. Slow down, Aurelion Vaelros — no need to point fingers where they are not needed." The smile on the lady’s face told Kent something else. She isn’t smiling to please him. The smile, if anything, contains so much darkness.

Kent blinked a few times and asked, "So are you saying you are not here because I did something bad to you?"

"Oh, you deserve to die for what you did to me. However, I am not here to throw a tantrum. I am much bigger than that. I am just here to examine if you are worth saving from what is coming to you..."

She grinned and stood up.

Then, in graceful yet silent steps, she approached Kent. Her slender fingers moved across Kent’s face and slowly moved across his chest before stopping at his dick.

"Hmmm."

She grabbed his dick and balls through his thin trousers, causing Kent to moan.

"My name is Vel’Zai, one of your many victims."
