Chapter 1233: True Name of Ice
Chapter 1233: True Name of Ice
The last time Kent learned the True Name of a Dao, the entire universe started looking for him. They all wanted to know who had accomplished such a monumental feat and, if possible, to learn from him or take it by force.
In the end, it was merely a wild goose chase that yielded nothing.
However, yet again, he stood at a crossroad where he would have to learn the True Name of another Dao... this time, the Ice Dao.
Naturally, if he succeeds, there is bound to be another wild ride... one that Kent knew would cause many to start questioning his existence. In fact, many will become even more invested in finding and connecting with his majestic existence.
Learning the True Name of something and invoking it is akin to wielding some form of authority over the thing — in this case, Kent will be learning the True Name of Ice.
But even while that is already shocking — aside from being presented with 699 True Names to select from — is the fact that 14 people had already invoked the True Name of Ice.
And these people were even disciples of a True Primordial. One of them is even his wife, Runa.
That is mind-bending.
It turned out that the 14 Chronicles of the Storm didn’t rise to fame and strength merely because they were the most talented or pitiful.
They were, in a way, experiments that a fragment of Ylthariel’s soul had used to cultivate 14 legendary Ice constitutions. One of the said Ice constitutions is the legendary Extreme Pure Yin Body.
She called them her disciples, but from how Kent heard her speak, he knew she merely used them to achieve a goal.
But that is also okay. She gave them a purpose and a reason to live for themselves. So using them as her experiment is, in a way, worthy of what she had given them.
Now, he is about to figure out a True Name out of the 699 names of Ice.
’I wonder if I am going to be one of her experiments, ’ Kent said inwardly. Hearing how silly his words were, he chuckled and wiped that thought from his mind.
Ylthariel vanished from the scene, leaving Kent standing before the large monument holding the inscriptions of the True Names.
Obviously, learning the True Name of Ice isn’t going to be as straightforward as reading the inscription.
He would have to dive in and fully understand the essence and true meaning of that inscription before he could decipher the True Name.
Kent sat down and tapped into his Mind Space, instantly appearing in a space where lines of runes, so ancient that deciphering even a single rune can take forever.
Contained within a single rune are dozens of other runes that he must understand to progress. And to figure out a True Name, he must first understand every last rune for that True Name.
Kent let out a cold smile and focused on the first rune, letting his mind completely enter the rune. He planned on letting everything there is to know about the rune pour into his mind.
As expected, his mind was overwhelmed with so much information in the next second, causing him to turn pale instantly.
It took him some time to regain colour in his face. However, as he remained seated for a few minutes, his mind started to expand, allowing more information to pour in.
’So that is how it works, huh?’ A calm smile appeared on his face... ’All I have to do is understand the complex information that my Soul Map has captured.’
It turned out his Soul Map is not for show.
It is extremely powerful.
Just now, he tried to comprehend the rune using the old-fashioned way, only for his Soul Map to activate something called Universe Enigma, which instantly deciphered the rune and overwhelmed him with the meanings.
Then it moved to the next rune. The Soul Map is the one responsible for understanding the complex runes, and Kent would have to make sense of it.
It is on autopilot, so the more space appears in his mind, the more information is poured in.
Now, all he had to do was fully understand the information, which, in a way, would ease the load on his mind, allowing more details to come to mind.
’I guess Paragon had done me a great service. I should thank him properly the next time we meet.’ He smiled, feeling thankful.
As the Soul Map worked, his adaptability quality as a Chaos Dragon also slowly worked to take him closer to figuring out a True Name.
Eventually, Kent figured out the nature of the True Name he had been trying to understand. It took him just 3 days, but he figured it out.
’Night of Frozen Stars,’ he said inwardly, feeling happy; however, he also didn’t feel the need to learn this Ice.
Every True Name holds a specific aspect of Ice. The one he had somehow managed to figure out is more Mage-worthy Ice. It allows him to create a starry Ice object that, when unleashed, explodes on contact, freezing a large swath of space.
Of course, there are many ways to harness that. However, the core way of using such Ice is to explode it. That, in a way, makes it an Ice that a Mage will be happy with.
He has only one chance to learn the True Name of an Ice element and awaken it. Naturally, that means he must get something that matches his dragon spirit.
So Kent abandoned the Ice and focused on another. This time, it took him two and a half days to figure it out. But in the end, he abandoned that idea for a third one.
Somewhere in the same realm Kent is in, Ylthariel became amused by how Kent was switching between True Names.
In her experience, nobody would have time to choose which True Name to learn. They would be happy with whatever Name they get.
However, Kent actually has preferences. This, of course, shows just how monstrous he is.
He learned the nature of the two True Names of Ice and, in the end, chose not to bother learning the last aspect of it, which is the True Name.
Naturally, her amusement and shock only continued to increase as more time passed. It got to the point she could only stare at Kent like she had seen a monster.
In the end, after 12 days and 15 True Names later, he finally found the one he was looking for.
A calm smile appeared on his face as he moved through the knowledge the Soul Map had deposited in his mind. As a dragon, finding an Ice element that matches his chaotic heart and nature is ideal. As such, when he finally did, he instantly knew this was what he wanted.
Ylthariel also knew Kent had found what he wanted. However, that also didn’t take away the shock she had been through for the past 12 days. Kent is just not normal, like most would like to quantify him.
His existence doesn’t make sense.
Eventually, the nature of the Ice was revealed to him, or more like he finally understood it.
