Chapter 1234: Eirwyn Thal’Shiver - Breath of the Last Dawn
Chapter 1234: Eirwyn Thal’Shiver - Breath of the Last Dawn
Just figuring out the nature of the True Name is already good enough for Kent. He could feel the overwhelming might of the Ice Element he would be awakening if he were to learn the True Name of said Ice.
’This is going to be crazy’
Kent said, feeling his body tremble from sheer excitement.
Ylthariel also seemed happy he had finally found something he wanted.
The type of element he had picked, if he managed to learn it, then aside from breathing Chaos flames from his mouth, he would also be able to harness an even more dangerous form of Ice, one that can freeze the dawn of both reality and imagination.
Kent inhaled deeply, steadying his racing heartbeat. This is his moment, and so, he must work hard to grab it before it slips away.
The moment he learns the True Name, everything will change. His core would shift, his spirit turn super cold, and the very laws of Ice would carve themselves into his soul.
Naturally, there is a chance his dragon physique will have to reconstruct itself, adding a second nature to it. So instead of merely being a Chaos Flame, he would also hold Absolute Chaos Ice.
’Oh, the allure of freezing life with my breath attacks.’ A grin formed on his face, allowing the moment to get to him. The feeling of absolute coldness washed through him.
He placed his hand over the glowing rune that represented Breath of the Last Dawn.
Instantly, the entire monument trembled.
On the outside, where his body was cocooned, a wave of coldness washed through his body, causing the Ice stairway to freeze even colder.
Runa and Miryssa turned and looked at each other, but said nothing. However, shock could be seen in their eyes.
They recognised what was happening. After all, they were known as the 14 Chronicles of the Storm in the past.
Inside the monument, a crack of frigid light shot through the space, and the temperature fell so sharply that even Kent felt his skin prickle.
His breath came out as white mist, swirling unnaturally and forming frost patterns that resembled dying stars.
Just feeling the coldness on his skin is enough to tell him the path he is about to walk is dangerous.
His Soul Map stirred.
Then it awakened.
A colossal torrent of runic light surged into Kent’s mind, so heavy and ancient that even his Chaos Dragon’s somewhat powerful mind strained under its weight.
His muscles tightened. His bones froze. His blood felt like liquid ice seeping through the cracks of stones frozen in a cold winter.
But he didn’t stop.
He let the power flood him.
He let the runes burn their meaning into his soul.
The monument shook more violently as though something ancient was being forced awake against the fabric of creation itself. The entire phenomenon is so wild that even Ylthariel started to panic.
Naturally, it soon got to the point that she started to look concerned.
Ylthariel watched with wide eyes, her heart quivering in disbelief.
"This boy... is insane," she whispered. "He’s invoking it directly... without preparation. Without understanding its core essence."
Even the 14 Chronicles of the Storm, who had walked far on the Ice Dao, never dared to do this. It took them between 130 and 300 years to figure out just the nature of the ice.
Understanding the True Name and invoking it took them more than a thousand years. However, in just a day, Kent had already figured out the True Name of Ice and was even invoking it using the most dangerous method known to man — physical contact.
It had to be known that the current version of Kent is just his consciousness, his soul. So while he may be a monster in his physical body, his soul isn’t that robust. A slight mistake and he will die in an instant.
But then again, physical contact to invoke a True Name grants him more control over the Ice than if he were to invoke it using other methods.
Also, maybe he knew what he was doing. His soul isn’t exactly weak.
Kent clenched his fists, forcing himself to remain conscious as the True Name unfurled inside him like a frozen sun collapsing inward.
A whisper echoed across the void—cold, distant, eternal.
"Eirwyn Thal’Shiver"
Kent’s eyes snapped open.
A halo of pale-blue frost ignited behind him, spinning like a dying star trapped between life and extinction. The air shattered around him in crackling fragments of frozen dawnlight.
ROAR
Even in his human form, a roar came from his mouth, freezing the entire space around him. Even on the outside, standing atop the mountain, his wives and Miryssa had to take several steps back to escape the bitter coldness washing over their skin.
"He has done it," Miryssa said with a shocked yet happy smile.
"After a very long time, someone had finally managed to learn the True Name of Ice. This is a universe-bending incident," Runa smiled happily, feeling proud of herself and her husband.
Kent had done it, and as such, his command of the Breath of Last Dawn Ice is now supreme and uncontested.
The rest of Kent’s wives looked happy when they heard what Runa said. Awakening Ice means he has secured another power that will aid him in the journey he is about to take.
Vexthra had already talked to them, and she will have an in-person meeting to see how best they can help their man.
They can’t help him when he enters the Star Gateway, so while he is on the outside, they will do their best.
Inside the monument, Kent opened his eyes. Cold mist of ice spilt out, freezing the air around him.
"I’ve done it," Kent muttered, feeling extreme joy.
"Yes, you did," Ylthariel said, appearing from thin air... "Though you used a rather unconventional method, you indeed have become the 15th member of the Chronicles of the Storm."
Kent gave Ylthariel a pale smile... "Lucky me, I guess."
Ylthariel nodded... "This will be it for our first meeting. Awakening an Ice element is the first step. Soon, you will gain a better understanding of it as you continue to use it."
Kent nodded. "Thank you for everything. Once I figure out what Ice means to me, I will be sure to answer your question better next time."
"I look forward to it."
Ylthariel waved her hand, and on the outside, the cocoon exploded, revealing Kent’s majestic physique now radiating cold, freezing Ice.
