Chapter 1254: Massacre (4)
Chapter 1254: Massacre (4)
Kent completely forgot about the 3rd Forsaken Immortal he came close to killing before the 4th Forsaken Immortal attacked him with the thousands of dark steel swords.
In his mind, the bastard had died in the chaos of the moment. After all, the state he left him in wasn’t encouraging.
However, now gripping his leg is the same Forsaken Immortal. However, while Kent could stomp him, possibly freezing his head into a block of ice, he had no time for that.
After all, the forsaken immortal had already initiated his core, aiming to use core explosion to take Kent with him.
Kent turned to face the Forsaken Seer, only to see a sneer on her pale face. This was all her doing.
Kent’s tail whipped, and his dragon wings appeared while still in his humanoid form.
"Ah shit."
BOOOOOOOM
He was swallowed in a megastorm of flame, one that pushed thousands of dragons back, some burning to ash in the process.
The megastorm of flame consumed everything.
The sky became a sun—one born from the detonation of a dying Immortal’s core. The spectacle is just too devastating. If one were looking from outer space, they would have seen a dull blue planet suddenly turn crimson red.
The sight, while beautiful in some way, felt very dangerous.
Space warped. Mountains melted. The ground split open into rivers of molten lava.
The air is filled with howling, roaring and screaming.
Dragons screamed as the shockwave flung them in every direction, scales peeling off, wings tearing, some reduced to drifting ash, taken away by the aftershock waves.
In an instant, tens of thousands of dragons died — wasting precious tower points.
Atarah’s white hair whipped violently in the inferno, but she stood firm behind her formation, Immortal Qi shielding her from the brunt of the explosion. Even so, a line of blood dripped from her nose.
"Burn, you miserable dragon..." she hissed, her hatred for Kent evident.
She may have wanted Kent to become a vessel to summon a Forsaken King from the Immortal Realm. However, from what Kent had shown so far, killing him is the only way.
She had seen and even sensed that Kent hated her kind more than most cultivators he had met. This gave her a bad premonition, so she aimed for him to be killed before he grew up into a creature that could not be handled.
The flames raged, burning even brighter. From how vast and devastating it was, nothing, nobody should be able to survive such devastation.
The explosion of an Immortal core could level cities, shatter planets and even, when done right, kill thousands of Immortals.
So, such an explosion, while it isn’t encouraging, wasn’t enough to discourage the forsaken race, who sensed the danger from this dragon.
They didn’t bat an eye to put him down before he became a problem.
Kent may be a dangerous adversary, but such an explosion is promised to kill even him, regardless of what defence he musters.
"Did we get him?" Atarah asked the other Forsaken Immortal. They are the only Immortals left in this gory battle of futility.
The Forsaken Immortal raised his shoulder, unsure. However, he—they—became sure the next second.
"Oh, sweetheart, you have no idea who you are up against, do you?"
Kent’s cold voice, followed by a low rumble, echoed from within the inferno.
Not the roar of a dragon...
This one was a growl.
Very deep. So deep.
Incredibly ancient and menacing.
Only beings from the Primordial Era would have recognised that growl. Back in the day, they used to say, when you hear the growl, run.
It is a sign that the Chaos Dragon is angry.
Atarah’s eyes widened. "Impossible—he should be dead! You should be dead. The explosion should have killed you."
A bolt of ice-blue light erupted from the centre of the inferno, splitting the storm of flame apart like an executioner’s axe. Suddenly, a rather menacing chill coursed down everyone’s spine.
FWOOOOOOM
A massive pillar of absolute ice surged upward, freezing fire itself. The surging flame halted mid-bloom, flames locked in place like crystalline flowers of death.
Everything came to a halt. The remaining dragons felt their bloodlines rejecting them at the sound of that growl.
The sky dimmed as frost overtook everything within thousands of meters.
Dragons fell from the air, wings frozen solid, bodies shattering upon impact.
Even the Forsaken Immortal, wielding void energy, trembled, backing away instinctively.
A shadow walked out of the crystallised inferno, each step freezing the very ground. In fact, every step seemed to freeze, then shatter the ground.
Kent walked out, looking menacing. He harnesses the power of absolute ice, dragon scales and dragon wings to defend against the explosion.
However, this time, he didn’t walk out unscathed like he used to. His left arm was burned down to exposed bone, scales cracked and bleeding, parts of his torso scorched black. But he was alive, cold energy healing him slowly.
His eyes were no longer calm.
No longer amused.
They were draconic.
Slitted and very angry.
In a way, Kent felt humiliated that he was injured this badly despite having the upper hand from the start. To a prideful dragon, that was a huge insult, and his hatred and anger could now be felt.
He summoned 20,000 blood runes, humming to life with chilling blood qi. He quickly merged them all into the parts he was injured in.
Of course, he aimed to heal faster, but even without the blood qi, his Eternal Draconic Physique had already started healing him.
However, with the augmentation of his blood runes, the regeneration speed has skyrocketed. This startled the dragons and the remaining forsaken beings.
"That wasn’t cool," Kent muttered, his expression turning cold. "A while back, I had the pleasure of thwarting a forsaken invasion in the medium world... I even came close to killing a Forsaken Lord. Oh, what a pleasure that was."
Atarah’s eyes narrowed... "So that was you? You were the one who injured Lord Bram."
Kent smiled, "Can’t say I enjoyed it as much as I would have liked. That was because by the time I arrived, most of my people had been killed by your kind.
However, in the end, you failed. That was a win for me, but as I said, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted to, considering my hatred for your kind can never be satiated until every last one of you ugly fuckers is dead."
Kent looked at the parts of his body that were injured and smiled.
He is almost healed.
"I was having fun. Now I’m pissed."
He growled lowly, but his tone sent shivers down everyone’s spine...
Kent turned toward Atarah and said coldly, "I expected you to summon more powerful beings by now. However, it seems I overestimated you. You are just a disgrace to the forsaken seers I knew.
You were supposed to be crafted and unpredictable. However, since you are none of that, I will be sending you on your way.
And guess what, I will cherish every last minute of it."
ROAR
Kent abandoned his humanoid form and transformed into his colossal dark-golden dragon form.
"Death is the only way." His deep, draconic voice spread far and wide.
Flames burst out of Kent’s colossal form, instantly suppressing everyone.
"Flame Baptism."
What followed were screams of agony...
