Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1283: Meeting With Adin

Chapter 1283: Meeting With Adin

Kent appeared yet again at the entrance of the city, since that was where he entered the tower from. However, unlike before, when he was blocked from entry, the moment the guards at the gate saw him, they quickly straightened up.

They saw what Kent did to the Dark Assassin temple, so they know best not to mess with him.

’Looks like Adin didn’t want to waste personnel, so he started employing the cultivators in the city and putting them to work,’ Kent noticed that the guards at the entrance aren’t Midnight Shadow assassins.

Some of them even held swords and spears.

Adin may have liked the idea of using the Midnight Shadow assassins to protect the city, but he wasn’t about to turn them into mere guards.

So he turned to the best option: using the wealth the Dark Lord had amassed to hire people instead.

Hopefully, after what Kent had in store for him, he wouldn’t have to stretch his assassins too thin in the name of creating a safe city for everyone.

"At ease, everyone," Kent said, walking toward them. Hearing his words, they all nodded and sighed. They made way for Kent to pass, which he did, considering he was only there to talk to Adin.

Upon entering the city, Kent saw that the bodies and destruction caused had been handled. Not even a drop of blood was seen on sight.

Adin had ensured the city was restored to its former glory, and a squeaky clean job was done to take away even the scent of the blood from the massacre Kent had committed.

This sight made him happy.

He quickly spotted Adin inside a private room in a restaurant, having tea. Using the Soul Map, Kent wasted no time and quickly teleported inside.

His sudden appearance startled Adin, but sensing it was Kent, he didn’t react. However, Kent, using the Soul Map, saw that if he were to attack Adin, he would have countered easily.

His reaction speed is breakneck, and coupled with his years of experience as an assassin, Kent knew not to underestimate him when it came to skills.

"Looks like you pass as a City Lord, Adin," Kent said, taking a seat as if he was invited.

Adin didn’t even want to think about how Kent had found him inside the inn. He had come in secret, and he had made sure he wasn’t followed.

However, seeing him seated as if he had invited him, Adin could only sigh and ask what he wanted.

"I only found out yesterday that the Upside Down Underworld Forest is no more and that it fell and was sealed by an Immortal Lord who is part of the Midnight Shadows. How true is that?"

The conversation had to start from somewhere, so Kent started with the obvious. His mission is to enter the Void Forest, which the Midnight Shadows sealed.

So naturally, he needs access, and the one who could grant that is Adin.

As expected, Adin sensed a hidden meaning to what Kent said, and so his answer aligned with what Kent would be asking next.

"The Upside Down Underworld Forest is indeed sealed after the fall. So if you are going to ask me to open it for you, know that I cannot since I wasn’t the one who sealed it.

But even if I could, I wouldn’t, since even 2 True Immortals, 4 Core Immortals and 13 Spirit Immortals died when they ventured in. You may be strong, but not stronger than a True Immortal."

Kent smiled and poured himself tea, taking a sip before responding to Adin... "No need to be harsh about it, Adin. I merely asked about the Upside Down Underworld Forest."

"So you aren’t planning on asking me to help you gain access?" Adin asked, and Kent responded with a straight expression.

"As a matter of fact, I was going to ask you to grant me access. However, now that I know your stance on things, asking will be wasting my time, so I suppose I would check it out myself."

Adin frowned, "What if I said no?"

Kent’s smile, "I am not going to fight you, Adin. I am not that unreasonable. However, since my mission here is to solve the problem brewing inside the Upside Down Underworld Forest, or else the entire world risks getting devoured, I would use any means necessary to enter."

"So you plan on fighting me since that is the only way you will be gaining access." Adin furrowed his brow, his gaze scrutinising every gesture Kent made.

"Oh, Adin, if I want to, none of you would even be able to take a step before stopping me. I may not look like it, but when I mean business, not even a demon king could make a fuss before me." Kent took a sip and waved his hand, sealing the room.

"If you were from a different organisation, I would have locked you up in my private prison and gone on with my business. However, since you are from the Midnight Shadows, I would let you in on a little secret that I believe will compel you to let me have access to the Upside Down Underworld Forest."

"Oh, I would very much like to hear what you have to say."

Adin didn’t want to show it, but he is not calm despite appearing calm. Kent is dangerous, and if what he had done to the Dark Assassin Temple wasn’t proof, then the fact that he wasn’t even bothered despite sitting in front of Shadow Legend said it all.

If they are going to compete skills-wise, like how sword duels happen, where the battle is only fought using sword energy, then perhaps Kent would be cornered and even defeated by Adin. He is a shadow legend, someone akin to a Sword Legend.

However, once that is taken out of the equation, Kent would trash him.

So he knew all this, yet he couldn’t bring himself to hear Kent’s words as mere rhetoric made by a child.

Kent didn’t seem to mind the mocking in Adin’s tone. He came prepared, and as such, he would soon shut him up.

Entering the Upside Down Underworld Forest would require him to have the approval and understanding of the Midnight Shadows.

He wouldn’t want to enter the Void Forest only for them to follow him in. That would be dangerous to them, something Kent didn’t want to happen.

So he wants to come to an understanding with them. This way, even if he enters, and the one who created the seal were to come, Adin would be able to prevent him from doing anything drastic.

This means he must find a way to tell Adin he is the Faceless Assassin without admitting it himself.

Adin would have to realise that and accept that Kent is the Faceless Assassin, without him opening his mouth and saying, "I am the Faceless Assassin." Only then can he talk freely about the Faceless Assassin without Karma affecting them both.

"You see, I came to this planet to meet the leader of the Midnight Shadows, since in a way I am your big boss that you are not even aware of just yet."

Kent held a smile on his face while Adin narrowed his gaze at him as if he were realising something.

A few seconds later, something unexpected happened.

"Hahahahaha," Adin burst out into a resounding laughter, causing Kent to sigh.
