Chapter 1453: A New Plan
Chapter 1453: A New Plan
The last thing Kent wanted was to hear something about someone wanting to concoct a pill.
It was right up his alley, and while he knew he had no way of telling if he would be allowed to approach the Western Queen, hearing she had herbs in her garden and the fact that she might want to concoct a pill gave Kent a new direction to take.
Of course, this quick decision came about because he learned the Eastern Queen was merely using him as a Trojan horse.
The Eastern Queen sent him on this mission with the intention of using him as a suicide agent whose death would trigger an item she and her aide would be able to use to teleport inside the Western Region.
The formation protecting that region was designed to block people out.
However, because the Western Queen and the Northern King are friends, a dragon with a pure bloodline would be able to enter.
Kent has a celestial-grade bloodline, making him even overqualified.
So he was able to enter. However, knowing he was sent to come and die provoked his ego, and so the only thing he wanted now was to get back at her.
This means he needed a new friend, and what better way to make one than by becoming her friend through a shared interest?
"I am going to meet her."
"Hold on a minute there, Master. Are you sure about that?" Calix asked. "For all we know, you showing up would alarm her and cause her to even attack."
It is logical reasoning. However, Kent doesn’t make plans on a whim.
"The formation protecting her domain allows dragons to enter. This means she has some form of trust in dragons. I could use that trust to my advantage.
But even if that doesn’t work, my name is Kent Madson. I have no problem using my words to make her trust me."
Calix said nothing for a few minutes before saying something that made Kent laugh. "Overconfidence is what killed the cat."
"I will be fine. Plus, if this goes well, there is a chance you and Bello will be getting an Immortal Lord Soul Core to absorb. I say it is a win-win situation, don’t you think?"
"That is indeed a win. In that case, good luck, and please don’t die."
Kent nodded, and they started moving forward again. He wanted to teleport into the garden, but since his soul map doesn’t cover that much distance, he needed to move closer to be able to teleport that vast distance.
Thankfully, with Calix’s augmentation, they advanced rather quickly. In no time, he could sense the garden. Luckily for him, he even saw the lady he would be dealing with.
"She is even more beautiful than the Eastern Queen," he muttered. "I guess evil people are uglier both physically and mentally."
After saying that, he prepared himself before teleporting away.
Inside the garden, the Western Queen was relaxing as usual when suddenly, the space around her twisted, and Kent appeared out of thin air.
"Wow, that was quick." Just as he appeared, a blade was held to his neck. The speed at which the lady reacted to his sudden appearance was so quick that Kent never saw it coming.
"Who are you, and how did you get past my formation?" Kent smiled, knowing deep within that he was alive now because he was a dragon.
His next words would determine whether he would live or die.
"Let’s just say the teleportation device I used to travel to this planet malfunctioned, and I ended up in the Eastern Region, where that queen there tried to push a fast one on me by sending me here, hoping you would kill me.
If I die, she gets what she wants, so how about we take a step back and start afresh? I am sure you are going to love what I have to say."
There was no movement from the lady. Her dagger was still held against Kent’s throat, which, from the look in her eyes, showed she wasn’t about to lower her guard.
"I guess we can talk with me at death’s door." Kent held on to his smile. He had no say in the situation he had found himself in. A slight resistance, and he would regret it.
"First of all, my name is Kent Madson. I am from—"
"You are Kent Madson?" Before he could finish his sentence, the Western Queen asked.
"Oh, you have heard of me?" he had already anticipated this happening, but he wasn’t too sure how it would play out. He knew that if the lady recognised his name, there was a chance she might act positively or take the negative path.
After all, he is the legendary Kent Madson.
What if, after learning his identity, she chooses to capture and sell him, or worse, bleed him dry?
The fact that his name appeared three times on different Dao Tablets was a clear indication of his importance as a person and perhaps even as a treasure.
However, there is also a chance she would want to become his friend. Being friends with Kent Madson sure would go a long way, translating into something even better.
But for that to happen, he would have to prove himself first.
As expected, the moment of truth came when the lady asked, "Prove you are Kent Madson, and maybe I will think about sparing you."
Yet again, his answer would lead her to make a good or a bad decision. Either way, he had already come up with the perfect answer.
"If you know me as most do, then you have already heard my name has appeared on the Pill Dao Tablet. This means I am an alchemist, and so I can tell you are looking to concoct a Bloodline Ascension Pill.
The herbs in the garden here and the fact that there is a spirit fruit specifically made for the bloodline gave you away.
However, I can’t help but ask, since you have Tier 14 herbs, how sure are you that a Tier 14 pill will help you upgrade your bloodline from the Immortal Grade to the God Grade?
If you are looking to become a demigod, I have a way that is less dangerous than taking a Bloodline Ascension Pill." Kent paused for a moment to let his words sink in.
"If you want to become a demigod, just say the word, and I will show you the easiest path forward. If you don’t believe me, then you can, of course, kill me or capture me. Either way, you will be putting your life in danger, not me.
If you think I became who I am because I had no backing, then you have another thing coming."
His words hung in the air for several minutes. What he had just said to some degree sounded fake. However, Kent isn’t someone who would tell lies.
That is not possible, especially when his name had already spread far and wide. But even if his name is not known by many, the fact that he had a knife to his neck is all the more reason to be careful about what he says.
This means there is some truth to what he said, and after thinking about it for a while, the Western Queen seemed to also realise that.
"Are you saying if I let you go, you will help me become a demigod?"
"I am saying if you let me go, becoming even a god wouldn’t be impossible."
