Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1452: A Very Bad Feeling

Chapter 1452: A Very Bad Feeling

After flying for so long, Kent finally came to a stop when he arrived at the border of the Western Queen’s domain.

"Moment of truth." Looking at the forest spanning thousands of miles wide, he took a deep breath to first give himself the morale he needed before venturing into it.

The moment he enters, there would be no turning back.

Calix appeared beside him and narrowed his eyes at the vastness of the forest. "I have a very bad feeling about this," he said, causing Kent to turn and glare at him.

"Do not start raising red flags here, buddy. We just have to get in there, grab what we came for, and be on our merry way."

"The master is right. We just have to grab it and be on our way—that is, if we don’t end up dead before that happens."

Kent chuckled but said nothing.

Calix was not joking when he said he had a very bad feeling. He himself could feel and sense it, so he knew for a fact he had to up his game.

"Oh, while disgraceful, calling a demigod over when in trouble wouldn’t be too bad." His only solace was knowing he could call on powerhouses like Lene, Vargus, and Avother for help when in danger.

But then again, when he finally enters the Star Gateway, where he wouldn’t be able to call for help, doing so now would defeat the purpose of this mission.

So he had to finish it on his own.

"You know, if we pull this off, backstabbing this lady should be the next best thing we should do. I have this feeling she isn’t telling me everything."

"Let’s get the item first, then we focus on who to backstab."

Kent nodded, and soon he was in the shadows. Calix didn’t have to pull him in there since he had his own way of traversing through the shadows.

He, after all, was once the legendary Faceless Assassins, so he needed no help traversing the shadows.

However, to ensure he was concealed, Calix augmented him using his own body. This augmentation strengthened Kent’s connection to the shadows.

So swiftly, he moved through the shadows, heading deeper into the Western Blizzard Queen’s domain.

[Crown Garden]

Deep inside the Western forest, inside a beautiful garden, a grey-haired lady sat under a tree whose leaves and branches formed into a canopy, almost like a crown, sipping tea.

She looked calm, almost as if she had nothing in the world to fear. She also looked human, and judging by how much attention she gave to her appearance and surroundings, it was plain she had some dealings with humans.

From her clothing to the things around her, there was no doubt that she and the humans dealt more than the Falcon Queen did.

A few minutes into her tea, a lady walked into the garden carrying an item on a tray.

"My queen, the merchants delivered the item you asked for." She extended the tray so she could have a look at the item.

It was a green root-like herb.

"This is the last item, huh?"

"Yes, my queen. According to the recipe you found, this is the last herb you needed. In three days, you can finally harvest the Golden Bloodline Spirit Fruit and head to the Ice Continent to look for an alchemist."

"That is indeed the plan, Mei. However, just to be safe, double the guards and strengthen the formations. We cannot allow those two evil demons to cause any trouble this time around."

"My queen should relax. Although she is a pseudo-demigod, unless she can teleport here, there is just no way she could get to the fruit."

"Still, strengthen and double security. I want everything to go well. If I succeed, we will all benefit."

"Okay, my queen." She left a few seconds later and began bolstering security around the fruit. She knew that her Queen’s aim was to become the first demigod-level beast in the Unknown Forest.

Until she became the overlord of the entire forest, she and her people would never be at peace. Already, the Eastern Queen and her aide had set their sights on her domain, so being extra cautious was the only way she could achieve that.

"Thankfully, that human formation expert helped me set up this formation. If they dare come, I will be ready for them." She smirked and went back to drinking her tea.

A few hours passed, but nothing interesting happened.

Kent and Calix had already entered her domain and even managed to come within 110,000 km of the fruit. However, they remained in the shadows, Calix using his Shadow Affinity to spy on the happenings around them.

"I have to be honest, master, there is no way we are getting past this security. It is as if she knew we were coming and she prepared for us," Calix suddenly said, causing Kent to sigh.

"I expected as much." He wasn’t that surprised.

After all, after having some back and forth with the Tower when he received the name of the fruit, he knew how important it was and why she would take extra caution to ensure the security around it was airtight.

However, knowing this mission was of utmost importance, he knew he must get it done if he wanted to leave this place alive.

Of course, he also started looking for things that he could use to complete the mission.

"Calix, see if you can find anything else out of place." Since he couldn’t get to the fruit just yet, there was no need to find a way around that.

Instead, if he could focus on something else, there was a chance he would be able to form a new plan that would take care of the hundreds of Immortals guarding the fruit.

So he locked in and started working alongside Calix.

However, ten minutes into that, a task he had given the Tower a while ago finally ended, and the results were as he expected.

[The master is indeed right. The Eastern Queen is using you as a Trojan horse. Hidden inside the map is a mini teleportation array that would activate the moment you die.]

’Wow, that is dark, Tower. Are you sure?’

[Yes, master. It triggers when you die because it can only be activated using soul essence. When you die, your soul will be transported away, which will leave some form of soul essence in the air.

That would trigger the array, which I believe the Eastern Queen wants to use to come here. This means she planned for your death all this while.]

’Damn.’ Kent felt like he had been conspired against, and that pissed him off. However, he wasn’t about to act out of character at the moment.

’Now, I guess I have a solid reason to backstab her.’

Kent threw the map into the Legion Tower just to be safe. For now, he needed to focus on the mission, which was to get the fruit and escape without the Eastern Queen or Western Queen knowing how.

"Master, I found something," Calix suddenly said after looking around like Kent instructed.

"What is it?"

"Inside a small garden 90,000 km from here, there are three herbs that, from what I know, can be used for alchemy." He paused and took a breather. "Master, I believe she is hoping to concoct a pill."

"Oh, if that is the case, then that changes everything."
