Chapter 1492: The Eleventh Floor - Four Fallen Immortals (2)
Chapter 1492: The Eleventh Floor - Four Fallen Immortals (2)
Vexthra and her team waited for a few minutes before they started to advance again. Already, they can sense that their opponent isn’t an ordinary being.
The mission description mentioned Chaos Beasts, so they knew the ordinary immortals they had killed in the past were nothing compared to this monstrosity.
Even the fiend Kaizo and the others killed on the 10th floor pale in comparison to this brute.
However, with Vexthra having a plan, the three—Kaizo, Sylara, and Indie—knew they had to survive for at least 25 minutes to buy her all the time she needed.
As to how that can be achieved, they all know Kaizo will play a huge role. So the moment they were 300 meters away, Kaizo took action.
He activated an innate skill that instantly caused his body to start to grow. In no time, he rose 50 meters tall; however, he was still a bug before the mountain of a man standing 200 meters tall.
Despite there being four people advancing toward it, it remained standing, its large, broad sword stabbed into the ground, held at the hilt by both hands.
"Ancient Angelic Titan Bloodline Ignite,"
At once, a powerful aura burst out of his body as he shot into the air, vanishing into the clouds. Suddenly, a power ripple spread across the sky, causing a wave of heavy energy to fall down.
This time, the brute named Gorath reacted. He pulled his broad sword from the ground and lifted it up, ready to face whatever was heading toward him from the cloud.
"Big mistake ignoring us." Indie moved, and millions of shadows moved with her. She only took a single step, but then appeared before Gorath, her dagger stabbing forward. At once, the entire region around her turned completely black.
Then, up in the air, a giant dagger formed from the shadows, and two large hands that were also formed from the shadows grabbed it.
"Underworld Dagger,"
Both hands moved, and before Gorath could move one hand to defend against it, it already landed on its chest, causing cracks to appear on its stony armour.
The attack pushed it back, just in time for a second attack to land on the same spot the dagger had landed.
"Blood Scythe," Sylara also attacked, forming a large scythe from blood. She had collected so much blood from the previous massacres, so she had an abundance of blood to use for whatever attack she wanted.
As expected, her attack further pushed the giant back, causing it to roar in defiance. It lowered its sword and tried to slash through the two bugs who dared attack its majestic self.
However, just when its sword moved, a chilling voice came from the clouds, followed by a powerful fist that instantly locked Gorath in place.
"Here I come,"
Kaizo descended like a mountain, the space under his giant fist cracking and spiderwebbing all around. Sylara grabbed Indie, and they vanished into blood mist, appearing far from the battlefield.
"Ancient Giant Art—"
The clouds rumbled, manifesting the silhouette of a golden giant man with large wings on his back. Golden lightning brust in the cloud, adding to the already chilling sensation on the ground.
"First Form—"
Kaizo’s fist burst into lightning flames, something not even Vexthra was able to remain calm about. At once, the space around them started to break. Vexthra waved her hand, and two streams of her Immortal Qi moved, encircling Indie and Sylara, just in time for the fist to land on Gorath’s face.
"Dragon God’s Face Smasher"
BOOOOOOOM
Kaizo landed his fist, and at once, the entire space shuddered. Gorath was sent flying several kilometres away, part of his face blasted off.
"Nice one, Kaizo," Indie cheered for the brute who, despite there being immortals and demigods now among them in the legion, everyone knew was not to be underestimated. There is just something about Kaizo that makes him a pillar they all feel they could stand behind.
Watching him blast away a True Immortal who also happens to be a Chaos Beast, they knew he was not to be underestimated.
"Go on, ladies, keep it busy," Vexthra commanded, and they moved. Soon, they started bombarding the giant, making sure it had no rest whatsoever.
Vexthra sat down in a lotus posture and retrieved a cauldron-like item from her space ring. She formed a hand seal, and the item expanded, taking the shape of a golden bowl.
If a god were to be present now, they would have coughed up a few mouthfuls of blood if they saw what Vexthra was about to use the ’Genesis Purifying Cauldron’ to do—refine a golem.
It is one of the hundred Celestial artefacts crafted by the legendary ’Nine Immortal Flame Blacksmith’, a being who dominated the Flame Era with his legendary creations.
Maybe knowing the kind of blunder she was committing, she smirked, muttering something under her breath, "I am sorry, Lord Nine Flame, but I have no other choice."
Sitting somewhere, creating art, a certain dragon sneezes a few times.
Vexthra formed a few hand seals, and then a green flame burst under the cauldron. She continued to form more hand seals, making sure not even a single mistake was made.
Meanwhile, with Kaizo leading the beatdown, he and the two ladies continued to keep Gorath busy, making sure that by the time they grew tired, Vexthra would be ready to turn it into a golem.

[Vari’s Team]
Vari, just like Vexthra, arrived at a different place with four others: Lani, Neomi, Mara, and Enkay. They were a bit stunned that they were separated from their sisters.
However, after the mission description appeared, they knew what they had to do.
The only difference was that they had no idea who they were meant to hunt.
Initially, they expected to be given a direction. However, even after waiting a few minutes, nothing like that showed.
Vari, who was selected as the de facto leader, came up with a plan.
"Let’s fly high into the air and scan the surroundings. I am sure we can find a clue." They nodded to her words and flew into the air, using their senses to scan far and wide.
Enkay, being a True Immortal, was able to scan further than the rest. However, he saw nothing, or at least he saw it a bit too late.
"Lani... watch out,"
He moved with explosive speed, a sword appearing in his hand. However, despite alerting Lani, both of them were too slow to react.
A mist appeared and turned into a slender lady with a heavy chest who stabbed her spear at Lani, aiming for her neck. She sensed the attack and reacted, but she was a step too slow, so the spear pierced her back, appearing on her chest.
"NOOOOOOOOOO"
Vari moved with deadly speed, hoping to join Enkay in stopping the lady. However, she smiled and snapped her finger, causing a dark portal to form.
"Come find me. By then, I will be done eating her..." With a laughter that caused the space around them to shudder, she stepped into the portal—or at least she tried to.
Neomi clapped her hands together, and the lady who moved to step into the portal froze. Then, in an anticlockwise manner, she turned her right palm against the left.
"Grim Reversal."
Her forward movement reversed, and all her actions began to undo. In under two seconds, she was turned back to the point where the mist appeared.
That was when Neomi used a second skill... "Life Swap,"
A formation formed under Lani, and just when the spear could pierce her, she and Neomi changed positions. The spear pierced Neomi’s chest, but instead of screaming, a smile tugged at her lips.
"Well then, why don’t we dance?"
