Chapter 1504: Dream Gate Auction House

Chapter 1504: Dream Gate Auction House

The Dream Gate Auction House is one of the three S-Tier auction houses on the Ice Continent. It is famed for auctioning off some of the rarest and most powerful treasures ever to reach this part of the universe.

As an S-Tier auction house, their reputation is of great importance; that is why, when a rare treasure comes to them, they first examine it to ensure it is authentic before putting it up for auction.

Many know this, so they have no doubt that today’s auction will have only authentic treasures.

The invited guests are all powerful people living on Planet Brymrr.

Kent counted over ten gods, some of whom he could sense were True Gods. This made him become weary of their presence.

He had no idea that the two ladies he had ignored were the true monsters at the auction house today. In his head, they were but two Immortal Lords with a lot of money to spend at the auction.

On the stage, a goddess known widely by many as Lady Tilly scanned the entire auction house and smiled. Seeing her beautiful smile, the perverts seated all around also smiled, putting on lustful expressions.

"Welcome, everyone, to yet another annual auction event. Last year, we auctioned some of our best treasures yet. We saw how you loved them, and so this year, we decided to go even bigger." Her warm smile felt enchanting as she looked at the various VIP rooms.

"First of all, I would like to thank the people who believed in us and decided to use our service to auction off their treasures. Your contribution and trust will not be misplaced, and it most certainly will not go without our sincere gratitude.

A special thanks also goes to Lord Brandon, who decided to put one of his crafts on the list of items to be auctioned today."

Murmurs began to spread as people smiled and beamed with anticipation. Kent, who had no idea who this Brandon guy was, remained seated, unsure why they seemed so happy.

Thankfully, Lady Tilly revealed all he needed to know next:

"As we all know, Lord Brandon is one of the finest god-level blacksmiths in this world. He has created some of the best treasures we have seen in recent years. Today, one of his newest creations will be auctioned, and I look forward to seeing who wins that bid."

After waiting for the murmurs to die down, she added one last sentence that instantly caused everyone inside the auction house to stir.

"We are also privileged to announce that, at the end of today’s auction, two spirit paintings will be auctioned."

This statement caused everyone to murmur, some even making their voices heard by all...

"Lady Tilly, why weren’t we informed before today?"

At high-profile auctions like this, months before the main event, a list is sent to most invited guests, detailing the items to be auctioned. This is to ensure that they come prepared and that no one’s time is wasted.

Of course, in most auction houses, a few items will not be added to the list. But something as important as a spirit painting would most certainly be included. Given how rare they are, people would love to know about them and prepare well before coming.

"Sorry for not including it in the list of items we will be auctioning. As many of you may have guessed, it was a last-minute addition."

Her apologetic words calmed everyone down.

It was not like they could reprimand her for something this trivial. Since they are here now, they might as well try their luck, and whoever comes with deep pockets will win the bid.

"Since we have that out of the way, then, as usual, in here, those with huge pockets get to have the treasure. Nobody should threaten anyone using their family background or strength. Those can be done outside this auction house.

If you do not have the money, do not place a bid. Failure to pay will result in a permanent ban from all our establishments. All bids are in high-grade spirit stones. However, you can pay in spirit crystals, immortal stones, or even god stones. The rich folks can also go for celestial stones.

Lastly, do not, and this is serious, do not fight inside the auction. Doing so will result in severe punishment that none of you is prepared to face.

That said, let the auction begin."

The light dimmed, and a spotlight powered by a formation lit up, illuminating the table where a torn piece of fabric lay inside a glass container.

Many eyes narrowed when they saw this fabric. Clearly, they recognised it.

How could they not? This fabric had caused a war between three god factions. As far as is known, it contains a cryptic map that, if deciphered, can lead one to a great treasure.

Many fought over it, some even dying in the process. However, after calming down, they realised the map is not something just anyone can use. It requires a great intellect to decipher it.

"I know we all recognise this piece of fabric. But to those who do not, it is a map that leads to a treasure said to have been left behind by a powerful Celestial Blacksmith who lived during the Flame Era.

Rumour even has it that he was also a disciple of the same sect where the legendary Nine Immortal Flame Blacksmith crafted his first-ever Celestial artefact.

Over the years, this map has caused mayhem, resulting in the deaths of thousands. However, even after sending it to the Cult of Wisdom, it could not be deciphered.

You can now say it has lost its value.

This is why the Hiana clan wants to part with it. The starting bid is placed at 100,000 spirit stones."

In the first minute, nobody placed a bid until Kent placed his:

"110,000."

Nobody said anything; they just turned and looked at Kent. In their minds, he just wanted to win something at the auction, so, seeing no one say anything, he placed a bid.

Five minutes later, Lady Tilly sighed and was about to announce Kent as the winner when a certain red-haired human placed her own bid.

"300,000."

"Huh," Kent turned and looked at VIP Room 3. When their gazes met, the lady raised her glass and cheered at him.

"310,000."

Kent said nothing and raised the bid by 10,000. However, he was not done when the redhead raised the bid again.

"500,000."

Kent did not immediately counter. Instead, he narrowed his gaze at the lady for a few seconds before a smile formed on his face. He also raised his glass and pointed it at the lady, whom he had no idea was actually Inaya in disguise.

"I never knew a fairy such as yourself was proficient in deciphering the Hexa-Spiral 360 Paradox Grid," he said, his smile widening as he added, "Of course, to get the main grid, you would also have to know something about the Voidscript 888 Recursive Pattern."

Inaya did not answer. Instead, she turned and looked at the map again before turning back to Kent. "Many tried and failed. I am just buying it to destroy it. It has caused too much harm."

"Such a waste. I was actually looking forward to solving some complex computations. It has been a while since I engaged my mind, you see."
