Chapter 1536: Promise of a Dragon
Chapter 1536: Promise of a Dragon
"You know, Chaos, back when you created the Spell of Origin, every last one of us laughed at you. Sure, you were the strongest among us, the legendary Primordial Chaos Dragon.
In fact, you were also the only being to touch the laws of Origin. However, that was the Primordial Era, not the Unknown Era.
The laws were static, hard to bend or even fully comprehend. So claiming you had created a spell that transcends all laws was just ridiculous.
However, now that I sit before you, alive, with my memories intact, I have to say, I shouldn’t have doubted you. None of us, especially the dragon council, should have doubted you.
For that, I am sorry. You have done more than enough for me, so I can’t in good conscience ask you for more."
Kent smirked and waved his hand, taking out two gourds of wine. He threw one toward Uncle Drake and gulped down a mouthful from his gourd.
"There is no need to be emotional, Uncle Drake. We fought on the same battlefield and bled for this universe. Naturally, that makes us brothers, so if I have the means to protect the people under your care, I naturally wouldn’t hesitate.
Of course, knowing one of the people who attacked you is from a powerful dragon family is all the reason you need to move your people here.
When we go for revenge and manage to kill that scum, they will retaliate, and so we wouldn’t want them coming back to where it all began to finish the job. There are kids involved here, so their safety is of great importance."
"Thank you, Chaos," Uncle Drake said before taking a gulp of his drink, too.
The tower city is now expanding. The four cities are now occupied by millions of people. Naturally, they are all adding to Kent’s soul strength.
He may only be at the Tier 19 stage for now; however, thanks to the worlds he has linked to his soul and the people living in the tower, his true soul strength is comparable to that of someone at the Tier 25 stage.
That would only continue to strengthen once he reaches the Immortal stage. So adding more people works in his favor. He has billions of tower points, so no one living in the tower would lack anything.
There is nothing like poverty inside the tower.
"I have some things to handle later. Once done, we will head over to where Umai and the kids are so we can bring them back to the tower."
Uncle Drake nodded. He drank yet another gulp and exhaled.
"It feels good to be back, Chaos. I know many eras have passed, but now that I am back, I feel like I will be living the best lifetime around," he laughed, clenching his fist lightly.
"The last time, we lost to the Void Beasts; this time around, we won’t."
Kent smiled and gulped down yet another mouthful. He usually doesn’t drink; however, when an old friend from the distant past finally returns to his side, drinking a few gourds is nothing.
"We indeed lost severely, my brother, but this time, we have to be more prepared than the last. I have only recently started to recall my memories, but I have already seen that in the eras that followed, similar battles occurred, and, as before, only a few were won.
This means those threats still remain. One day, they will find their way to us, and I am afraid we are not prepared yet. So we must grab every opportunity we can get our hands on because, believe it or not, this time, we will feel true despair, and I myself cannot wait to experience it," Kent laughed, causing Uncle Drake to shake his head.
"You know, Chaos, the last time, when the dragon council learned you had ventured into the Void Realm, we debated whether or not you were indeed sound in the head.
Don’t get me wrong, some of us became afraid when the first battle was over. Most of our brothers and sisters were severely injured, some dying from that battle.
However, a year later, you ventured there as if your life were useless. I even argued that maybe you wanted to die and so you offered your neck to them," Uncle Drake smirked and shook his head in defeat.
"The only one who saw some semblance of normalcy in you was the Rainbow Dragon Monarch. Of course, she was smitten with you, so you can say she wanted to paint a good picture of you.
We all said you had gone mad, and I guess we were right. Hearing you now, I can say for a fact you have gone mad, Chaos. Does any of what you just said sound like a reason to make you happy?
Do you even value your life?"
Kent laughed, throwing his head back.
All over Gaiaville and beyond, many turned and looked toward the mountain garden. Even his wives, who were taking a tour through the tower cities, looked in the direction of the mountain garden.
They had never heard Kent laugh that heartily before.
Seated under a pavilion, Baldy looked toward the mountain garden and smirked. "Crazy Big Brother."
"Ignarax, buddy, my life is one thing I cherish more than anything. I have over two dozen wives who need me, so if I don’t value my life, it would mean I don’t value them.
However, I am also the Primordial Chaos Dragon. In my veins run streams of blood that originated from the Primal Chaos. I thrive in chaos. Chaotic moments made me strong, so if there are universe-ending battles coming, naturally, I ought to be happy."
He stood up and walked to the edge of the mountain garden. "You know, for a very long time, I roamed the universe uncontested. Everywhere I went, nobody matched my prowess. The likes of the Great Axe Monarch, Supreme Whip Empress, and many more challenged me, but all fell short.
I was so bored that I sometimes ventured into the Primal Zones just to have a taste of danger. It was also then that I first met the void beast.
The first Void Beast I fought was a True God, and I was merely a Demigod. That day, I saw despair for the first time, and you know what—"
Kent turned and looked at Uncle Drake. "It was beautiful."
"There I was, my defense completely dismantled, my life hanging on by a thread, and pain rocking my very soul. However, instead of fear, I felt alive. For the first time in millions of years, I felt like living indeed has some purpose.
Since then, I realized something else. I realized my power comes from chaos, so whenever there is chaos, I ought to be there. This is why I was able to defeat the likes of you despite being surrounded by many subordinates.
The more furious the battle rages on, the stronger I get until I am the most dangerous thing on the battlefield. So yes, I am a little bit crazy and perhaps a bit mad, but I believe I am just what this universe needs, don’t you think?"
Uncle Drake drank his last gulp and also walked toward the edge of the mountain garden, letting the cold breeze brush against his face.
"I guess you indeed are what we need. But this time, you won’t be the only one thriving in the chaos. This time, the Flame King, whose flame burns even Immortality, will be by your side, raining down fire on their heads."
The two dragons threw their heads back and let out thunderous laughter, their shoulders shaking.
