Chapter 1538: One of the Divine Zodiac Spears

Chapter 1538: One of the Divine Zodiac Spears

Kent spent the entire day talking with Uncle Drake. He got to learn more about his old friend and comrade. When that came to an end, however, he retreated to the Sword Tower to handle a few things.

He was already aware that one of the Eternal Sword Intents left behind by Jest was now in the tower. He was happy to learn that.

In his memories, after glimpsing the realm beyond the Sword Celestial stage, he used what he had learned to refine seven strands of sword intent, putting everything he knew on the line.

In the end, he succeeded.

However, instead of the Celestial Sword Intent he expected, something else emerged. The sword intents were sentient. He was a bit stunned when all seven of them manifested into humanoid forms.

When this happened, Jest was stunned, but he soon learned that the path to the realm above the Sword Celestial stage would be achieved through the seven sword intents.

To do that, however, he sent them away with only one mission: to create a sword technique and master it to the point that it would transcend the realm of Sword Celestial.

After they left, he lost connection to all of them except Baldy.

Unless the other six, he manifested into a kid, and considering he was a bit clingy, he wanted to stay by Jest’s side. Unfortunately for him, Jest was a Sword Celestial back then, going into battle against a monster.

He was merely a child now growing.

So, using the excuse that he should wait for him on Planet Brymrr, Jest left, never to return. When Baldy learned he had died, he wept and chose to seal himself away, using the passage of time to learn and keep growing until they met again.

In past eras, he had protected Planet Brymrr from all threats. Now, he had returned to Kent’s side, still as a child but with overwhelming prowess.

Kent planned to spend some time with him, but before that, he wanted to have a clear idea of the spear he seized from Warlord Briana, the broken sword he bought at the auction, the Spirit Brush, and see where the path led next.

His wives informed him that they were taking Princess Luciana home, so he would be using the time he had to handle these issues.

Gaia had also informed him that they were done with 95% of the portal, so it wouldn’t be long before he was ready to head to Elina’s galaxy.

He brought out the spear and made it hover before him.

It seemed to have been made from a material that, to Kent, appeared like a stone and a bit like metal.

Given the texture, it would be a bit rough on the palm when wielded. It was exactly 2 meters long, and one end was razor-sharp and scaly.

Nine runes have been carved on its length.

"Good spear, though I see nothing special about it that would suggest why that demon king was eager to get it." Kent focused more on the runes on it but saw nothing special.

It was ordinary at best; however, he knew it was in no way a simple spear.

If anything, the feeling of dread he felt when Warlord Biana activated one of the runes on it told him the spear was a terrifying weapon and that he should be careful around it.

"Tower, what do you have on this weapon?" Since he was making no progress, he turned to Tower, who seemed to know most things that he did not.

Unfortunately, no good answer came from the tower. However, she managed to give him something to go on.

[Regretfully, I have no idea what this spear is or where it came from. However, there is a way the Master can find out.]

"I am all ears, Tower."

[Although I have no idea what the spear is, I can tell it is a soul weapon, meaning it has a soul space. The Master can send a part of his consciousness inside and inspect it from within.

It isn’t linked to anyone, so there will be no defenses to break. If that yields no results, then we can save it for now and look for answers later.]

Kent saw no problem with that. He inhaled deeply and then exhaled. He formed a hand seal and sent a strange part of his soul toward the spear.

He held his breath, watching as the strand of soul essence drifted toward the spear. For a moment, he expected nothing to happen, but it did.

When it happened, he wasn’t prepared.

Just when his soul essence was close to the weapon, something took hold of it, and his entire soul was dragged into the spear, causing his body to fall backward and his soul to start falling into a dark hole.

Panic set in and was soon replaced by fear before he started to curse his life away. In a span of what felt like eternity, Kent cursed his bad luck several hundred times.

But then he didn’t go splat. Instead, he suddenly found himself standing in a large hall, its walls painted in ten different shades of color.

Kent took a deep breath and began examining his body. After a few minutes, he stopped and let out a relieved sigh. He was fine from head to toe, at least as far as his soul is concerned.

Once that was taken care of, he started to look around.

On the walls, he saw some writings, each with a background in a different color. He moved closer to the one with a green background. However, just when he was right before it, he found himself back to where he was.

"Hmmm, that is strange," Kent said, and then he moved again, stopping just where he had been before.

However, to his shock, it happened again.

"What in the hell is happening?" He tried three more times, but the same result.

So he switched to the blue wall and walked toward it. But then the same thing happened. He moved toward the red and three other colors, but the same thing happened.

Finally, Kent turned toward the golden color. He chose this because something clicked in his mind that he may have overlooked. When Warlord Biana used her life force to ignite the rune, it glowed golden.

Now, as he faced the golden wall, Kent hoped with every fiber of his being that he was right, or else he would go mad.

He took one step at a time, and before long, he was standing before the golden wall. He closed his eyes and exhaled, knowing the moment he opened them, he would be back at the center of the hall.

"Well then..."

He snapped them open, and his gaze landed on the golden wall. Instead of staring at it from ten meters away, he was looking at it from less than a meter away.

This caused him to blink a few times. The next moment, however, the wall began to change as several writings appeared on it.

He lifted his head and looked at the header, and it read...

"Here lies the monument of Vael’Zhor, the Zodiac Forgebinder, creator and forger of the Sunfang Tyrant Spear, one of the ten Divine Zodiac Spears."

Kent blinked once or twice, his mind spinning as he read the header of the writing. There were additional writings after the header; however, he couldn’t look past it.

He blinked again and read the header once more. Then he turned and began reading the texts that followed.
