Chapter 1570: Tale of Evil (2)
Chapter 1570: Tale of Evil (2)
Kent reached into his Soul Universe and brought out the book holding the Ruthless Bandit’s memories.
The last time he opened it to read, he learned about the early stages of Lex Morvane’s life. He learned that he began cultivating at the tender age of 13 rather than 16.
Because of his brilliance, he was invited to join the Nine Heavens Sect—specifically invited by the Immortal Council. That was a great achievement, one that made him a topic of discussion on the planets his father ruled over and other neighbouring planets.
After leaving home for 200 years, he returned only to meet the most chilling scene that forever changed him for the worse.
He came to see his father’s severed head hanging at the entrance of the city, his close friends and trusted aides of his family slaughtered, some sold into slavery, and the most chilling of them all—the chained, malnourished, and naked bodies of his mother and two sisters clinging on to life and their sanity.
He couldn’t bear to see them in this situation, so after rescuing them, they pleaded with him to end their suffering. Tears rolling down his face, he ended their lives, sending them away peacefully.
What finally made him lose it was discovering that his uncle, whom his father trusted and made his right-hand man, was the one behind it all.
Even more chilling, his Immortal Lord master back at the Nine Heavens Sect was a part of the betrayal, among others.
Lex swore to avenge his family, which he planned to start by wiping out the bloodline of all who betrayed his family and putting them through torture and humiliation.
*Sigh*
Kent let out a deep sigh, his expression calm as he stared at the book’s hard cover. He knew the moment he opened this book, he would be exposed to some of the horrors he had committed as the Ruthless Bandit.
He had no choice but to do so.
This was why, after a few seconds of hesitation, he resolved himself to read and be done with it.
"I guess here goes my sanity," he smiled faintly and opened the book. Flipping to the second page, he started to read.

[There is nothing more chilling than knowing the one you trusted the most would one day stab you in the back. My father trusted my uncle, and he ended up being the dagger he never saw coming.
I trusted my master, and he happened to be the one who colluded with—or, more like, manipulated—my uncle into betraying my father. Manipulated or not, they will both die a very painful death.
The question, however, is why they did what they did.
My father ruled over eight planets, each filled with billions of people and beasts. A few have rare minerals, and even Planet Biva has a Spirit Stone mine. However, I don’t think their betrayal had to do with any of these planets. In fact, I think there is something much deeper afoot, and that is what drove them to humiliate and kill my family.
Today, I have no intention of thinking about that, since I plan to get my revenge on a merchant from my uncle’s family.
I learned he and his family will be travelling to a city this evening, and I plan to end his entire bloodline before daybreak.]
A pale smile appeared on Kent’s face, something he never expected he would do, yet he did. He may not have realised it, but as he flipped to the next page, the smile lingered.
[So I did it, and it was breathtaking. You should have seen their faces when I sucked out their pitiful lives. The old merchant even had the audacity to plead for the life of his youngest daughter when she had already slipped into my baby sister’s closet.
I killed them all, including their guards, and hung their bodies—both him and his wives’ and all three daughters’ bodies—on the side of the road.
Next, I will visit my uncle’s second wife and her children and make sure they cease to exist. Afterwards, his restaurants will know my wrath, which I will exert in full, making sure even the cleaners feel my pain.
In this endeavour, I will not spare anyone linked to that bastard.
~10 days later~
The entire city is crying blood, and I know why, since I was the cause. Already, I have killed the bastard’s wives and their children, leaving only him and three of his sons. I have also killed his in-laws and their guards.
They dared to take a planet that once belonged to my father as a gift, knowing it had been obtained through betrayal and bloodshed.
None were spared, not even the next upcoming generation. They can only blame themselves for having that bastard’s blood running through them.
Next, I will visit my uncle, who had run to hide in a sect he is supporting. I learned the sect leader is a good friend. I will kill both of them and the entire sect if I have to.]
The smile on Kent’s face is a bit crooked now.
It looks a bit evil and a bit nonchalant, almost as if he doesn’t want to feel the thrill of the memories.
As he read, he found himself reliving those moments. It was like he was back in his life as the Ruthless Bandit. So while someone watching him would think he was reading, Kent was actually living—or reliving—his previous life.
That had, in a way, started to change him, as seen in the smile on his face and the aura surrounding him.
He flipped to the next page...
[It was a desperate yet futile struggle. After I was done with them, only an old sweeper was left alive. I spared him because when I was 12, he gave me a cookie after I ran away from home to join this sect, hoping to become immortal someday.
Also, by sparing him, I believe I still have sanity left in me. Maybe one day, after all of this is over, I will have a shot at living a normal life.
Of course, I can only hope.
I killed from the outer region to the core region, slaughtering every last disciple and elder in the sect. Some were away on a mission, but when they heard the sect was in danger, they came running to their deaths.
Naturally, I didn’t deny them the chance to go to the afterlife.
By now, my name had already spread across the planet and beyond, causing every soul to quake in fear when they learned what had happened.
This was also why nobody dared come to plead for his life when I marched my uncle on the street naked, his body littered with all kinds of cuts.
His death, as I had planned, was slow and excruciating. It took me 66 days to kill him. By then, I am sure his soul had been scarred for all eternity. In his next life, the pain would haunt him, for I made sure of that.
After exacting his kill, I realised I wasn’t living up to my potential, so I went further and hunted down everyone who had ever committed a crime against my family in the past.
It took 100 years, but I managed to kill over 1,560,000, all in some way linked to the downfall of my family. Now, I have to head back to the Nine Heavens Sect and make sure it ceases to exist in the coming years.]
"Hehe... this is going to be blood-curdling," Kent said with a grin, his expression twisting to mirror that of an evil demon king.
He flipped to the next page and, with cheer in his eyes, he continued.
