Chapter 1571: Tale of Evil (3)
Chapter 1571: Tale of Evil (3)
~45 pages later~
Kent’s entire body gives off an aura of evil, the kind that seems to originate from deep within the soul. Before he started reading the memory diary, he had the aura of a dragon bathed in blood and Chaos Qi.
Now, however, he is likened to the incarnation of evil.
But that is not the chilling part. The most disturbing part is the smile on his face. It wasn’t an arrogant smile or the smile of someone having a good day.
His smile is twisted, filled with so much malice.
Kent had always had a smile on his face, but now he looked like whatever he was reading was filled with so much that made him enjoy every last page of it.
In his memories, he had already left the high world and was back in the immortal world. In fact, nothing good had happened since he left the High World.
Things only got worse after he left.
First, when word reached the Immortal Council of what had happened, instead of investigating, they sent powerful immortals to kill him the moment he showed his face in the Immortal World.
They wanted him dead, a clear sign that the downfall of his family wasn’t only from his uncle and master’s side. It went much deeper, and for that, he knew he had to get down to the root of everything.
So he did what had to be done; he resumed killing.
It got to the point where the pressure was just too much, so he formed a team of very bad people who called themselves the Evil Bandits.
Every last member of this group was, at one point in time, betrayed by the Immortal Council, so they gave their all to get revenge.
Some succeeded in avenging themselves and their loved ones; others failed. However, that was irrelevant, since after this bandit team was formed, the killing became too much.
The Immortal Council had many sects, businesses, and families. They supported many geniuses and even had a hand in many important events.
They had the power to oppose Lex. However, that also meant Lex had many targets to kill. He did, and for years, millions of people fell victim to his massacre.
Anytime he killed, things only seemed to get worse. It got to the point that his own team started to fear him. Eventually, they ran away. He didn’t blame them; however, he also didn’t put much effort into bringing them back.
By then, the name Ruthless Bandit had started to spread, giving Lex the moniker that would one day shake the universe.
Eventually, after years of killing millions of immortals, he finally got to his master...
---
[There is nothing better than a reunion between a disciple and his traitor master. Today, after knowingly walking into a trap, I managed to kill 20,000 immortals just so I could get to my master.
He never expected me to get to him, not when what blocked my path to him was 20,000 Immortal Lords, each a genius in their own right, while I was merely an Immortal King.
But then again, I started cultivating at 13, so what did they expect? By 16, I was a genius who caught the attention of immortals. Though now that I think about it, it seems their noticing me wasn’t for my talent but rather for something I will soon be learning from my master after I torture him enough.
I hate to say it, but I am a genius, one that appears once an era. As a result, I killed all who blocked me and reached my master.
Unlike my uncle, who suffered for 66 days, my master was an immortal, so I made sure he experienced an entire year of torture.
He tried many times to end his own life; however, before me, death is powerless, and so after breaking his body, mind, and soul, he finally spilt the beans.
Today, I finally learned who and why my family was targeted. Today, I was made aware of a force calling themselves the Universe Council, my next targets.]
Kent sucked in a cold breath, the look of evil in his eyes deepening, becoming darker and more furious. Clearly, the mention of the Universe Council had triggered him.
That is only natural.
While during his life as the Ruthless Bandit, none of his memories of his past lives came to him, deep down, the seed of hatred toward the Universe Council had already taken root in his heart, and so when he learned they were the masterminds behind his family’s downfall, that anger started to stir.
He flipped to the next page...
[The reason why they killed my family was because of a prophecy. It reads, "The life of the chosen would shine darker, illuminating all life with evil. His presence will shroud all, and when the third star shines, his arrival will herald the coming of evil."
My traitor master explained that this prophecy was given to the universe at the start of the Dark Era, and for years, seers, diviners, shamans, oracles, and clairvoyants worked to determine whom it referred to.
They failed many times until they found a trail that led to my family. Apparently, after I left for the Nine Heavens Sect, my mother got pregnant and was going to give birth to a baby boy.
However, the third star shone on her, and so they killed her, believing my unborn brother was the evil the prophecy spoke about.
When I heard this, I smiled weakly because I got what they were saying. They killed the wrong one, and now their actions had triggered the evil they feared.
My traitor master even blamed himself for not figuring it out earlier. Apparently, all forms of divination cast on me pointed to a future of good and justice.
I was the personification of benevolence, something that is impossible, considering we all have evil in us.
However, it is now too late for regrets. My baby brother died so I could be born, and now, I will become what they feared the most.]
*BOOM*
A dark aura exploded from Kent’s body, causing the green plants and flowers inside the garden to dry out. At once, his eyes changed colour, becoming completely dark.
His fingertips also turned black, and along the side of his face, tattoos of skeletal fingers ran down his neck, all the way to his legs.
The tattoo of a triangular eye called the "Eye of Evil" appeared on his forehead. Despite it being a tattoo, the red pupil within it kept shifting, looking all around.
His clothes changed into black, tattered cloaks, and a dark grimoire hung at his waist, its tattered, wood-like cover engraved with all kinds of eldritch symbols.
Behind him, the "Spear of Evil" hovered, waves of true evil Qi exploding with each of Kent’s cold heartbeats. His hair changed from purple to completely black.
In what felt like five seconds, he went from Kent Madson to the Ruthless Bandit, a transformation that had drawn the attention of two people—well, one person in two bodies.
Standing not far from the garden, Princess Pandora smiled and muttered, "Welcome back, Lex. I look forward to seeing what kind of evil you will unleash on this universe again." Her smile was filled with so much evil.
Far away inside the Abyss, a beauty whose strength far surpassed that of even the strongest Celestial, sleeping inside what looked like a sarcophagus, smiled, her eyes still closed.
