Chapter 1586: The Three Life Dao Celestial
Chapter 1586: The Three Life Dao Celestial
He clearly went splat, yet he felt no pain. Aside from that, his injuries healed. Even more shockingly, after he went splat, he still managed to stand up, which, from what Kent could think of, didn’t make sense.
Life without pain is meaningless, in his opinion.
Life cannot be fully experienced without pain. So, rising to his feet like it never happened clearly didn’t feel right. But that was to be expected, when the moment he stood up, all injuries were healed.
This got him thinking:
"Where am I, and why does it feel like I have walked into something I cannot easily escape from?" Kent sucked in a deep breath, his expression turning calm.
Moments like these, he knew he must remain calm and first explore his options. If he panics just yet, he might miss something that would completely shatter his chances if he intends to find a way back home.
So he calmed his trembling heart down and asked the questions that needed to be asked.
"Where am I?"
"What is this place?"
"Why am I here?"
These questions gave him three objectives, and the first concerned where he is. The answer, of course, is related to the green energy he touched. Somehow, it had pulled him over to this place instead of merely allowing him to experience it.
In the past, his mind would be drawn into a realm where he saw the Dao manifest and tried to comprehend it. Never had he appeared in a world like this.
"But what if this world is the Dao I am meant to comprehend?" His brow knitted, and for a moment, he sucked in a deep breath.
"How does one even go about comprehending the Dao of an entire planet? Where do I even start, and most importantly, would I even be able to do that in 6 hours?"
The question hung in the air.
This brought him to his second question: what place is this? The answer, of course, revolved around whether this place is a realm housing the Dao he was meant to comprehend or if the Dao itself is the entire world.
He tried to scan the planet, but he couldn’t. The only thing he could do was use his eyes to look. Thankfully, his eyes could see very far, thanks to tempering them during his seclusion on Planet Rainy.
However, while his eyesight was rather sharp, he saw nothing that would give him even a faint understanding of what this place is.
This got him to ponder on his third question: why he was here. He is there to comprehend the Dao contained in the green energy he touched. But the most important question is, where should he start?
Kent turned to his left and looked into the distance, then started walking that way.
"It is just 6 hours. If I stand in one place doing nothing, my life chance to become powerful would sleep away from me. I might as well try and find something that would explain things for me."
So he started walking, and for an hour, he saw nothing. Two hours passed in the blink of an eye, but nothing came into sight. Aside from snow, there was nothing else.
Four hours into it, Kent started to become depressed. He had 6 hours to comprehend a Dao and benefit from it; however, here he was, unable to even find where to start.
Soon, he was left with only a minute before the 6 hours ended. This made him sigh deeply in his heart and close his eyes, knowing that when he opened them again, he would be back in his soul sea.
However, after 5 minutes with nothing happening, he snapped them open, his brow furrowing.
The 6 hours were over, and so he should be back in his soul sea or the outside world. Why then is he still inside this place?
"This is getting out of hand really quickly." He stood there for a few minutes before taking another step forward.
"Since that is the case, I might as well make good use of it." He understood that the time difference might be playing a part in all of this. He had no idea how much the gap was, but he wasn’t about to find out standing there and doing nothing.
So he started walking, at times skating on patches of snow that had solidified into an ice field.
A day soon passed, and before long, a week went by, but he hadn’t found anything.
A month came by, and before he knew it, half a year had passed, yet he never stopped to ask questions. He kept going in a straight line, knowing even if he hit a dead end, he would just go in another direction.
So, as stubborn as he was, he continued to walk.
A year passed.
Two years.
Three years.
.
.
.
Six years.
Before Kent knew it, 60 years had passed on the green planet, yet he didn’t stop walking. Maybe he had forgotten he was walking, or perhaps he didn’t want to give up.
However, even if he had that kind of patience, walking for 60 years would have worn it away at some point. Yet as the years flew by, he continued to walk until, 600 years later, he finally came to a halt.
A pale smile formed on his face as he gazed into the distance.
Before him, a large tree stood, its leaves glistening in the dim sunlight. Even from afar, he could sense a welcoming feeling coming from the tree.
So he took one step after another, approaching the tree. As he drew closer to the tree, he started to see things more clearly.
First, the tree appeared much smaller as he drew closer, a clear sign that what he saw and what actually was are two different things.
But that wasn’t the only thing he noticed. He also saw that not all the leaves are green. Others are yellow, blue, gold, and even red. Aside from that, he also saw fruits hanging, some ripe in different shades of color.
These things intrigued him; however, what caught his attention the most was the figure seated under the tree.
Even without seeing the person’s face, he knew from the look of their flowing green hair that they were female.
"Don’t just stand there. Get over here." Before Kent could make sense of anything, he sensed his body pulled forward, appearing in front of the lady.
Their gazes met, and for a moment, Kent felt like all his secrets were laid bare for her to see. Thankfully, the lady had no interest in his secrets, or more like she failed to see anything.
"Interesting. I have met many people in my days, but never have I met an Immortal whose soul is this protected. Tell me, child, who are you, and how did you come into contact with my true Dao energy?"
Kent took a deep breath and answered, "My name is Kent Madson, and I am here because I touched a green Dao Energy."
"I see. I suppose that means you are here to comprehend my Dao."
"If this senior would allow me, I would indeed love to comprehend her Dao."
The lady looked at Kent for a few seconds before a nod came from her.
"My name is—or at this point, I should say was—Kenzie MayDay, famously known as the Three Life Dao Celestial. Pleasure meeting you, Kent Madson."
