Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1661: Fugitive

Chapter 1661: Fugitive

Kent became puzzled when Yama recognized him, even though Kent had absolutely no idea who this man was.

Normally, if one of his past incarnations was one of the few in line to be remembered, the moment he encountered someone or something connected to that life, the memories would return to him.

However, not only did he feel a strange familiarity with the Underworld, but Yama had even recognized him. That alone should have been enough to trigger his memories. Yet, as he stood there, not even a whisper of memory surfaced.

Yama furrowed his brow and removed his pirate hat.

"You don’t remember, huh?" A small smile appeared at the corner of his mouth. "Perhaps that is for the best. After all, the Empress has only just returned. We wouldn’t want you causing havoc here again."

"Cause havoc again?" Kent frowned. "Why would I do that?"

Yama chuckled and turned to Indie.

"My lady, let us get on the ship first. I have already informed the Reaper. They will soon arrive to escort you back to the palace."

"Excuse me, Mr. Yama, you still haven’t answered my question," Kent called out, waving at Yama.

The leader of all Grim Reapers in the Underworld laughed. He snapped his fingers, and instantly, they found themselves standing on the bow of the ship.

Yama turned and looked at Kent.

"I cannot say anything since that would interfere with your karma. However, you should know this: you are not welcome here in the Underworld, the Resentful Domain, the Spirit Realm, or even the Undead Realm.

"In fact, you may be pardoned here, but if the Monarch of Resentment, the Undead Emperor, or the Spirit Empress learns that you are back, they would storm this place, and none of us wants that to happen right now, do we?"

"Obviously not," Kent replied, though he could not help wondering just what he had done in the past to become a fugitive in not one realm, but four.

’What exactly did I do to these people to warrant such hostility?’ Kent thought for a few seconds before turning back to Yama, who had already started steering the ship.

"At least tell me this. Since you can tell I reincarnated, can the others also identify me?"

"Your identities rather. No, they cannot," Yama replied. "However, now that you are here, they will all sense that their enemy has returned. Considering they already tracked you down twice before, it won’t take long for them to discover who you are.

"Also, while they cannot identify you now, the moment you recover your memories, they will know instantly. Honestly, it would be best if you wrapped up whatever you came here to do and leave as quickly as possible.

Trust me, the last time, you nearly brought an end to this place and the three other unique realms. They hate you with every passion."

"Looks like you are quite popular here, my love," Indie teased, hugging Kent’s left arm. "Don’t worry. Now that I am back, they wouldn’t dare cause trouble in my domain unless they wish to court death."

Kent nodded and brushed Indie’s hair gently.

"I guess I will have to rely on you to keep me safe, dear."

"I will."

Yama smiled and shook his head inwardly.

’I don’t know where you found this troublemaker from, my lady, but he is bad news for everyone across the Four Planes. I wouldn’t even be surprised if he had also offended the Hell Monarch.’

Knowing it was none of his business, Yama focused on steering the ship.

Kent watched his back and sighed softly. While the Underworld had previously been capped at the Demigod Stage, that was only because the Underworld Queen had been absent. Now that she had returned, things would gradually return to normal.

However, as Kent gazed at Yama, he could tell that even a True Celestial would tremble before him. That alone told him Yama had likely already reached the peak of the Celestial Stage before the Great War during the Primordial Era.

’Indie, dear, what is the deal with Yama? I don’t recognize him from the Great War,’ Kent asked through the connection they shared.

’He was once a pirate who was captured by some of your traitor friends, the universe Guardians, and imprisoned here as you did me.

’When I arrived, he was already among the top ten strongest beings in the Underworld. One thing led to another, and he eventually supported my campaign to reunite the thirteen levels.

’After I became the Empress, I made him the leader of the Grim Reapers and also one of the thirteen Guardians of the Underworld. When I left for the Great War, I left all thirteen of them here to protect my domain. That was why he didn’t participate in the Great War.’

’I see. Then just how strong is he exactly? I feel like he could crush me with just his pinky.’

Indie chuckled.

’Yama was already at the Celestial Supreme Stage when I arrived here as a Demigod. Now that billions of years have passed, who knows? He may have already stepped into the next realm or is halfway there.’

Kent furrowed his brow upon hearing Indie’s answer.

’So you also know about the next realm.’

’I do. Well, I once met someone wielding such power during the Primordial Era.’

’Really?’

’Yes. It was only a brief encounter, but that meeting changed my life.’

’Where did this meeting happen? I would like to seek out this person.’

Indie smiled and shook her head.

’You already asked Big Sister Pandora, but she refused to say anything. That alone should tell you that the next stage is not something they can casually talk about. You even heard what Big Sister said: the more she uses her power, the more damage she causes to this universe.

’That was why she told you not to pry too deeply into this matter. If you are meant to know, then I am sure you will discover it when the time is right. For now, focus on what you can control.’

Kent smirked, but he nodded.

’You are right. Sorry for bothering you.’

Indie rested her head on his shoulder and transmitted softly.

’You could never bother me, my love.’

Miryssa knew Kent and Indie were conversing mentally, but she neither interrupted nor attempted to join in.

Indie turned slightly and looked at Kent, who was focused on something invisible before him.

’It is good you do not know just yet, my love. If you learned that the one I met was a Forsaken, who knows what you would do?’

It was a well-known fact that the Primordial Chaos Dragon hated all Forsaken beings. As a result, he would do anything, even risk his own life, to eradicate them.

Because of that, Indie and her sisters had decided not to say anything for now. If what they had discovered was true, Kent might go mad with guilt.

For now, they were all waiting for Inaya and Baldy to bring Safira back. Once she arrived, everything would finally be revealed.

They believed that while they could never extinguish Kent’s hatred for the Forsaken race, now that Elina had returned, they would at least be able to make him think logically before making his next move.

A few minutes into their journey, Kent saw countless green lanterns slowly drifting toward them. Moments later, silhouettes of hooded figures standing at the bows of their boats became visible, scythes resting upon their shoulders.

The moment they came within 200 meters, the hooded figures, numbering over a thousand, all went to one knee.

"We welcome the Underworld Empress back to the Land of the Dead!"

Indie moved away from Kent and stopped beside Yama.

"Rise, everyone. I know it has been hard on all of you during the years I was away. But I am back now, and as promised, we shall soon throw the grandest party ever."

"YEEEEEEEYYYYYY!"

And just like that, Kent completely lost faith in the Grim Reapers and their Empress.
