Chapter 1720: Eryndor Unleashed

Chapter 1720: Eryndor Unleashed

The sand avalanche rose into the air and came crashing down, revealing a colossal Sand Centipede.

This one was far larger and longer than the ones Uncle Drew and his team were fighting.

It stretched over 450 meters in length and was covered in a dense metallic carapace, far harder and more imposing than the others. That alone told them they were looking at the Sand Centipedes’ leader.

Naturally, the moment it appeared, Uncle Drew knew what would follow.

"Eryndor, handle it," Uncle Drew commanded.

Eryndor nodded.

In the distance, dozens of Sand Centipedes could be seen rushing toward them. The moment the leader appeared, the entire horde revealed itself as well, causing the already chaotic battlefield to become even more suffocating.

Luckily, they had many trump cards, and one of them was Eryndor, whose Hell Summoner class had been lying dormant for quite some time.

He waved his staff through the air and, with a powerful thrust, slammed the head of the weapon into the side of the Sand Centipede he and Saden were fighting, sending it flying backwards. Its colossal body rattled like a broken snake.

"Saden, keep it at bay for a minute."

Eryndor moved and appeared two hundred meters away from the approaching Sand Centipedes.

"Hell Gate... Open."

The head of his staff glowed brighter, and then, as if tearing a hole through space itself, four imposing dark gates appeared, each oozing a dreadful aura.

Eryndor had summoned all four of his Hell Demons since the battle required their assistance, despite knowing they would complain.

Of course, none of them had reached their limits yet, but they didn’t have the luxury of revealing more of their personal trump cards before reaching their destination.

It was the secretive nature of the Night Riders that allowed them to survive countless dangers and remain feared throughout the universe.

"Finally, I can stretch my legs."

A voice echoed from within the first gate, followed by the appearance of a three-meter-tall demon with skin forged from living metal. He held two massive broadswords and was clad in jagged crimson metallic armour.

Every movement of his body radiated dense blood qi, making him look less like a demon and more like a walking blood calamity.

The demon stepped out of the gate with a grin stretched across his metallic face. Clearly, like most arrogant demons, he still possessed a rebellious nature.

However, he was needed, so there was no way Eryndor would unsummon him.

The moment his feet touched the ground, the surrounding sand exploded outward under the sheer weight of his presence.

His crimson eyes swept across the battlefield before locking onto the approaching horde.

"Looks like you finally found a battlefield worth summoning me for."

A savage smile appeared on his face, but at least he didn’t try to walk back into the gate.

"You’d better increase my resources after this," Thrakos, the Demon of Dread, said.

Before Eryndor could answer, another figure emerged from the second gate.

Unlike the first demon, this one was lean and tall, standing nearly four meters in height. His body seemed to be made entirely of shadows and darkness. Two curved black blades rested at his waist, while six crimson eyes glowed beneath a hood of living darkness.

The temperature around him instantly dropped, filling the air with intense killing intent.

He glanced at the battlefield and sighed.

"You interrupted the sleep of the great Zandros for insects?"

Eryndor just smirked, forgetting how annoying this bastard actually was. However, if he was being honest, these Sand Centipedes were indeed insects. But Uncle Drew wanted them to use only half of their true power for now, so the hell demons were needed.

The third gate trembled.

A deafening roar erupted from within before a gigantic beast stepped through, its presence radiating dread and the aura of a true predator.

It resembled a demonic lion standing over fifty meters tall. Black flames covered its entire body, while six horns curved backwards from its skull. Beneath its fur, a thick metallic carapace covered its body, making it nearly impossible to wound.

Every breath it released scorched the air.

The moment it emerged, many of the approaching Sand Centipedes slowed down instinctively.

Even beasts understood fear. They could sense that a true predator had arrived, and its gaze was locked onto the leader of the Sand Centipedes, causing the latter to tremble slightly when their eyes met.

The Hell Demon was Kha’zixarath, the Hell Devastator. It had once served Eryndor across many battlefields. Today, he would unleash chaos with it yet again.

Then the fourth gate opened completely.

The battlefield suddenly fell silent, almost as if the Hell Demon had come to feed on the very sounds around it.

Just as everything became quiet, a woman walked out.

She wore a black dress decorated with silver runes. Her pale skin contrasted sharply with her flowing white hair.

Unlike the other three demons, she radiated no overwhelming aura. Yet the moment she appeared, Uncle Drew glanced in her direction.

Even Nara’s expression became slightly serious. Eryndor had already informed them that he had managed to resummon four of the Hell Demons he had contracted in the past.

However, because he hadn’t told them which demons he had summoned—considering he had thousands of them during the Dark Era—they were unaware of the identities of the four.

Yet the moment this woman walked out, a terrible feeling crept back into their hearts.

The woman smiled.

"My, my... it seems Master Eryndor finally remembered I exist."

Eryndor rolled his eyes.

"You complain every single time, Xuanli," Eryndor replied, not caring much about the bad history his teammates had with Xuanli.

"Because you only summon me when you’re in trouble." She pouted, looking hurt.

"Just get the job done and make sure you don’t reveal too much. Kha’zixarath will handle the leader. Your job is to make sure the rest don’t get close to us. And yes, you can take the cores after the battle."

"That is why I like you, Master. You really know how to make me blush."

Xuanli giggled and turned into a blur, appearing four hundred meters above the ground. Then, sitting in a lotus position, a zither appeared before her.

"Time to play some tunes."

She smiled and started plucking notes on the zither, filling the air with a cheerful melody. However, the approaching Sand Centipedes felt their souls invaded by an insidious curse.

Suddenly, they found themselves standing in an empty space. Facing them was the same woman playing the music, only this time she held a sword, and thousands more hovered behind her.

During the Dark Era, when the Night Riders travelled to Hell to temper themselves and strengthen their skills, they had mistakenly wandered into the domain of a Hell Demon known throughout the infernal realms as the Hell Requiem Demoness.

That day, some of them fought on the physical plane while others fought on the soul plane. That battle taught the Night Riders that no matter how powerful they were, there was always someone more terrifying.

Later, after she was defeated, she was forced to sign a contract with Eryndor, and since then, she has served him faithfully.

Over time, she came to like Eryndor and the others. However, they all knew one thing: their greatest defeat had come at the hands of the Hell Requiem Demoness.

Today, she had appeared once more, and Eryndor’s Hell Summoner class was finally unleashed.
