Chapter 1748: A Primal God
Chapter 1748: A Primal God
Vexthra’s expression made Kent wonder why she looked so stunned and a bit shaken. The Vexthra he knew didn’t scare easily, so seeing her with that expression told him something wasn’t right.
"Vexthra, is everything alright?" he asked, holding back his bid for now.
"Not sure just yet, but I think the person who placed that bid may be from the Primal Temple," she replied, narrowing her gaze further at VIP room 99.
"The Primal Temple?" Kent asked, his brow furrowing. This was the first time he had heard such a name, leaving him slightly stunned.
In response, Vexthra revealed what she knew.
"From what I know, the Primal Temple is a secret organization that dates back to the Primordial Era. They are said to be beings who have crossed the 100th layer in every ascension. They possess unfathomable power, and the person who spoke sounded like the Mystery Shadow Assassin Primal God"
Kent frowned, stunned by what he had just heard. He had never heard of the Primal Temple before, but he had heard of the Arcane Order. From what he knew, they too were beings who had crossed the undisputed 100th layer.
In fact, he had fought many of them during both the Primordial and Divine Eras, and he is sure he fought them in some of his other incarnations.
During those eras, they had been traitors—beings who sought the end of the universe. They were the beings who opened the Void Gate and unleashed the Void Beasts upon the universe, leading to the Great War.
He didn’t know whether the Arcane Order and the Primal Temple were one and the same, but he didn’t like anything he had just heard. In fact, his killing intent began to leak, startling his wives.
"What is wrong, Kent?" Pandora asked.
Instead of replying, Kent turned toward the auction stage and raised the bid.
"420 trillion."
HMMM
From VIP room 99, the person who had placed the 400-trillion bid let out a low growl but said nothing. Throughout the auction hall, many had gone pale.
"Is Kent Madson insane? How does he dare go against someone from the Primal Temple?"
The few who recognized the lady in VIP room 99 began whispering among themselves, making Kent, already enraged by past memories, narrow his eyes.
"Kent, dear, you do know that Primal Gods aren’t affected by the world’s limitations. This means this person still possesses her god-level strength even in the Immortal Realm," Vexthra cautioned.
Kent merely smirked.
"Is that supposed to make me afraid?" he asked, clenching his fist as his teeth ground together.
"I don’t know if they’re the same people I’ve been hunting down throughout all my incarnations, but if she happens to be one of them, then she isn’t leaving the Immortal Realm today."
The ladies could tell he was furious, so none of them tried to stop him.
Instead, they all went on high alert because for someone to make Kent this angry meant they had done something unforgivable—something that had crossed his bottom line.
"The bid stands at 420 trillion. Are there any higher bids?" Lady Wu announced.
Nobody made a sound.
A few moments later, she sighed and declared the winner.
"Since there are no further bids, the item goes to the gentleman in VIP room 13."
Almost instantly, a suffocating killing intent filled the auction hall, followed by an icy voice that sent a chill down everyone’s spine.
"Kent Madson, I have heard a lot about you, but I have to say, meeting you has been a disappointment. Refusing to give face to a senior such as myself is an insult to me and to everything I represent."
Suddenly, a powerful finger materialized above the auction hall and hovered in the air.
"Which is why I will be killing you today."
Kent smirked and was about to move when Pandora and the rest of her sisters held him back.
"Think this through, Kent. She has already crossed the 100th layer and possesses true Dao Essence."
Kent narrowed his eyes at the ladies before smiling.
"Relax, ladies. I just want to check something first. As long as she isn’t the person I’m looking for, I’ll let her live."
"Huh? We meant you should be scared for your life," Vexthra and her sisters said, clearly never expecting Kent to claim he would spare a Primal God when he was the one in danger.
Vexthra had reached the 65th layer during her god ascension, yet even that alone made her one of the most dangerous Domain Gods in the universe.
Someone who had crossed the 100th layer was not to be underestimated.
Kent merely smiled before vanishing from the VIP room, reappearing above the auction hall. It was there that he finally came face-to-face with the person who had threatened to kill him.
She was a Universal God with dark eyes and long pink hair. Her lean body was clad in form-fitting leather armor that hugged every curve, revealing her to be an assassin-type god.
A single glance was all Kent needed to realize that recklessness would only get him killed.
Yet instead of attacking, he smiled and asked a question that instantly changed everything.
"The Hall of Primordial Gods recorded that during the golden age of the Primordial Era, a group of gods who had seen beyond the 99th layer decided to rule the universe, so they made contact with a Doomsday Lord.
"Their request was granted, giving rise to the Forsaken Race. They called themselves the Arcane Order, and they became the true enemies of the universe."
His eyes narrowed.
"What is the difference between the Arcane Order and the Primal Temple?"
The Universal God’s eyes narrowed as well, and waves of killing intent poured from her body.
Seeing that reaction, Kent smiled.
His cloak transformed into golden, crimson, and black dragon armor. He extended his hand, and his jagged broadsword, Gaap, materialized within his grasp.
"So that is how it is, huh? You evil fiends infected the universe, created the Soul Temple, and corrupted the Universe Order and Council from the shadows. Then, after gathering enough strength, you dared to rebrand yourselves into... what exactly?"
A talon-like dragon tail emerged behind him, radiating deadly intent.
"You... who are you, and how do you know all this?" the Universal God asked as she summoned two daggers. "You know what? Don’t tell me. I’ll kill you before you even get the chance to answer."
Seated in VIP room 13, Pandora smiled and snapped her fingers, creating a transparent barrier enclosing Kent and the Universal God assassin.
Kent smiled before his expression turned ice-cold.
"If I can’t kill you within ten minutes, I’ll offer you my head for free."
The moment those words left his mouth, golden-crimson lightning erupted from his body.
Then he vanished.
The next instant, he appeared behind the assassin, who went by the name Xylarahi. She sidestepped before Kent’s sword could reach her.
However, just as she thought she had seized the movement to attack, Kent’s dragon tail whipped behind him like a razor-sharp blade and lashed toward her.
Her right dagger shot up to intercept it.
BOOM!!
The collision blasted her backward, sending her crashing through countless buildings.
"Die!"
Kent roared as he moved once more, his lightning element fueling both his speed and power. Although he was only an Immortal Monarch, he was actually overwhelming a Universal God.
Pandora had already prepared a battlefield for them.
By creating a perfect replica of the city and overlaying it onto reality, she made it appear as though buildings were being destroyed, when in truth, the real city remained completely untouched.
