Chapter 1759: Lady Khronisia’s Request
Chapter 1759: Lady Khronisia’s Request
Bringing Meiko to the Tower turned out to be the right decision.
She got to meet some of Kent’s wives and everyone else living inside the Tower. Seeing the millions of people populating the various cities, she became a bit emotional.
After all, before she died during the Flame Era, she had been put in charge of an entire galaxy. While she had killed some of the high-ranking Flame Beasts and even the main threat, she knew that with her death, thousands had perished as well.
Seeing how peaceful life was inside the Tower, she knew that if a place like this had existed in the past, perhaps she wouldn’t have died so early.
She would have had more freedom to counter the threats without constantly worrying about the innocent people she was supposed to protect.
Seeing how much she loved the Tower, Kent decided to let her stay for a while. He had other obligations to attend to, so he left to address them.
After leaving, he appeared back on Planet Elyria-IV, where Lady Khronisia from the Blacksmith Association was waiting for him.
He had already received a quest to protect her on her journey back to her planet since she would come under attack. So he had asked her to wait after the auction while he dealt with the events involving the Fatty.
He had promised to meet her even before his memories of Fjorge returned to him. Now, he was even more eager since he would finally be making contact with a high-ranking member of the Blacksmith Association in the Immortal Realm.
Not many women entered the field of blacksmithing because it was traditionally considered a man’s profession. However, Fjorge, who had ventured deep into the world of blacksmithing, had encountered many legendary female blacksmiths and even worked alongside some of them. As such, Lady Khronisia had piqued his interest.
Now that he was free, he returned to Planet Elyria-IV and quickly contacted her. A few minutes later, they met in a restaurant to discuss why she had wanted to see him.
"Thank you for coming, Kent Madson," she said politely, looking at the man who had shaken the hearts of countless people during the auction five days earlier.
His name had already spread far and wide, causing billions to wonder what kind of existence he truly was. They had all witnessed him kill a Universal God despite not even reaching the Demigod stage.
That feat alone was beyond shocking, and now that she was sitting across from Kent, she couldn’t help but wonder who he really was.
Of course, she kept those thoughts to herself.
Kent merely smiled and replied, "I promised you, after all. So here I am, Lady Khronisia."
She nodded and went straight to the point.
"I didn’t call you here to waste your time, so I’ll be direct. I have been searching for you for quite some time because I need your help crafting a weapon that I plan to submit to the Association as my masterpiece before taking the Blacksmith God Trial and ascending.
It requires two important things. First, I need a Primordial Flame, which I already have. Second, I need an Absolute-grade Ice that possesses a true name.
I know it is a big request, but compared to you, almost everyone else on the Ice Dao Tablet is beyond my reach. You are the only one still in the Immortal Realm who possesses an ice with a true name.
So I humbly ask if you can spare a week of your time to assist me in crafting this once-in-a-lifetime weapon."
"Once-in-a-lifetime weapon, you say?" Kent smiled faintly, recalling the dagger he had crafted after spending ten years learning under Immortal Blacksmith Ricado.
The Midnight Dagger he created had become a symbol of his craftsmanship throughout the Immortal Realm.
Of course, he had gone on to forge many Immortal-grade weapons after creating the Midnight Dagger, but that one remained his masterpiece—not because it was the strongest or the best.
It was because it was the very first weapon he had designed and crafted entirely on his own, without Immortal Blacksmith Ricado’s guidance.
It was his first true work of craftsmanship. He had spent days perfecting the concept alone before even beginning to plan which materials would best bring his vision to life.
"First of all, I want to ask, how long have you been planning this craftsmanship of yours?"
Lady Khronisia blinked a few times, not expecting Kent to ask such a question. However, she answered anyway.
"About 12,000 years. A few years after I became an Immortal Blacksmith, I attended an auction and witnessed the sale of one of the legendary Ten Divine Zodiac Spears.
It was only for a few minutes, but I gained profound insight into the path of blacksmithing. Since then, I have been planning to create something similar, but mine would embody only the powers of Ice and Flame.
It took a long time to plan and gather the necessary resources, but I believe that with your Ice, I can craft a similar spear."
"I see. That is quite ambitious of you, Lady Khronisia." Kent chuckled softly before adding, "The Ten Divine Zodiac Spears were masterpieces created by the Zodiac Forgebinder during the Flame Era.
He forged them using Sacred Flames and imbued each one with the authority of one of his Ten Sacred Flames. In fact, history records that, aside from the Nine Underworld Flame Blacksmith, he was one of the greatest blacksmiths ever to live.
To think you aspire to craft something comparable to his work—I must say, you have both courage and ambition. I admire that, and because of it, I will help you. However, I have one request."
Hearing that he was willing to help, Lady Khronisia beamed with joy.
"As long as it is within my power to provide, I wouldn’t refuse any request from you."
"Good, because I want to see your blueprint and help you perfect it. However, instead of using a Primordial Flame, you will be using a Sacred Flame that I will provide."
"What...?"
Her eyes widened, and for a moment, she felt as though she had just heard the greatest joke in existence. However, when Kent ignited one of the Nirvana Flames, her expression instantly turned pale.
"This...?"
"It is one of the Nine Nirvana Flames. Though this is only a spark, I will soon obtain the real flame, and I plan on helping you forge the weapon with it.
I only ask that when it is time to inscribe the runes, you add these."
Kent flicked his hand, and three runes appeared in the air.
The moment Lady Khronisia saw the true runes, her eyes widened even further. In fact, she immediately jumped to her feet and moved closer to inspect them.
"Th-These are the Soul Awakening, Soul Dimension, and Soul Nourishing Runes," she blurted out. Had Kent not sealed their private room, everyone in the restaurant would have heard her.
"Yes. Yes, and yes." Kent nodded. "You originally planned to craft nothing more than an Immortal-grade Divine Weapon. However, with these runes, you will instead be forging an Immortal-grade Soul Weapon, one capable of housing a weapon spirit and continuing to grow stronger as time passes."
"But... but why would you do all this for me? I only needed your Ice element."
Kent laughed, poured himself a drink, and took a sip.
"Let’s just say I’m impressed by your idea. As someone who always wishes to see the very best in everything, I want you to have this opportunity to show the universe what you can do. Who knows, maybe the Nine Underworld Flame Blacksmith would notice your efforts and take you as his disciple."
Of course, Kent wasn’t doing this out of the goodness of his heart.
He needed this weapon to finally lure his stubborn hammer back to his side.
