Chapter 1784: Overpowered Techniques (5)
[Two Months Later into the cultivation of the Red Bone Chaos Devouring Art]
Kent’s skeleton had become golden, with billions of Primordial Runes covering it.
In fact, while many would say skeletons are horrible regardless of how good-looking the person they belong to is, looking at Kent’s bones now, it’s clear they were good-looking in terms of shape, structure, and appearance.
Every single one looked golden and very powerful, even just by looking at it.
Yet while this bone structure was already stronger than what most Celestials in the infinity universe have, Kent wasn’t satisfied. He asked Tower how much time had passed, and when he found that he had been cultivating for only two months, he decided to go beyond that and do more.
He chose to cultivate the [Diamond Blood Demon Bones], and if he had time, he would climax with the Void Devouring Demon Bones.
Weeks went by, and by the time the fifth month came, he had achieved the Diamond Blood Demon Bones and chose to proceed further.
"Somehow, I think achieving the Undying Obsidian Body had strengthened his bones, making the tempering process even less tasking than it should be," Jyoti Lata said, knowing full well that all Kent was doing now wasn’t normal.
It takes the best prodigy, such as herself, close to ten years to cultivate the Golden Blood Demon Bones. So, for Kent to do so in just two months, there was surely nothing normal about it.
But here lay the case that everything he had achieved now was through his own effort.
He had cultivated the Undying Obsidian Body, something many couldn’t, and now he was cultivating the Void Devouring Demon Bones, which, if he succeeded, meant he wouldn’t have to spend energy protecting his bones in combat.
They would do so themselves by using Void or any other energy in his arsenal.
"He is a monster," Zdzislav muttered, finding it hard to make sense of Kent.
But he was holding back his expectations for now until Kent was done with this technique and started cultivating the one from his tribe.
Seven months later, exactly one year since Kent had started cultivating the Red Bone Chaos Devouring Art, his bones turned purple with hints of deep blue, and more importantly, they now exuded the power of the Void.
Luckily for him, he had three Void Cores and Void Veins, so his bones started to grow denser.
However, just when his skin started to cover his bones again, every last Eternal froze, their eyes narrowing toward Kent’s ten fingers, or rather, his claws.
On his finger bones, faint runes exuding the power of Eternals could be sensed. They were so faint, in fact, that many would have missed them.
However, as people who had been paying so much attention to Kent, they sensed them and knew he had awakened the Eternal Runes.
"Well, I guess we can finally say he is related to the Chaos Ascension King somehow," Tumenk said, and everyone nodded.
Fiannarel smiled and said,
"That is, if he isn’t the Chaos Ascension King in the first place."
Her words were outrageous, but the seven tribe leaders couldn’t bring themselves to dismiss them. In fact, they soon started entertaining the idea.
Meanwhile, Kent’s flesh and skin reformed, covering his skeleton. He then opened his eyes and scanned through the messages.
"> <You have attained Void Devouring Demon Bones>
"> <Your Chaos Claws have been upgraded to Chaos Void Devouring Claws>
"All in a year’s work," Kent smiled and turned to the next message, not wanting to waste any time at all.
"> <You can now move ahead and cultivate the World Root Chaos Scripture>
Kent smiled and began cultivating the fourth technique. He still had time, but he wasn’t about to waste it on things that wouldn’t benefit him.
The moment he began, the space around him was soon covered with plants and life.
Namarie smiled and crossed her fingers, hoping things turned out well for Kent. "Although I told him to focus on the life aspect of the World Root Chaos Scripture, if he can handle Death too, I wouldn’t mind. I wouldn’t mind at all."
Everyone nodded at her words. After all, they wanted to be free, and if what Jyoti Lata said about the Chaos Ascension King was true, then he needed the complete technique to pass the trial.
So they didn’t care how; they just wanted him to succeed.
Meanwhile, Kent appeared in a garden so vast and endless that he had no idea where it ended. It was filled with beautiful plants and birds, things that would make one want to stay inside.
However, the moment Kent appeared inside, he felt like he had stepped into the garden of death. He felt both life and death, and as someone who had seen death many times, he knew this garden was no rainbows and sunshine.
In fact, he became scared at once...
Naturally, his suspicion was confirmed when the message appeared.
"> <Welcome to the Upside-Down Everlasting Garden. The way forward is to split yourself in two and comprehend the life and death of all living things>
At once, the method appeared in Kent’s mind, and like a madman, he tapped into it. That was when he saw it. His body was split in half, one with green hair and the other with black hair.
The green-haired version remained in the Garden of Life, while the black-haired version appeared in a graveyard with dead trees, tombstones, and an overwhelming amount of death qi.
It appeared the Upside-Down Everlasting Garden had two sides. One side was filled with life, and when it flipped, the other side became death.
"Well, I guess Lady Namarie would be disappointed that I will be following both paths." He smiled, then closed his eyes, beginning to cultivate both energies.
Inside his soul sea, Lady Kenzie snapped her eyes open, feeling an overwhelming surge of life energy pouring into Kent’s body. Her eyes sparkled, and without hesitation, she began cultivating it to strengthen herself, which would also strengthen Kent.
On the other side, the Underworld Soul River surged, and the gates opened, revealing a terrifying sea of death. The death energy being channeled into his body had started entering the gates, refining and strengthening them.
Time soon passed, and before long, a year had passed.
Inside Kent’s soul sea, Lady Kenzie had undergone so many upgrades that she now looked like life itself. If before she had been a Celestial, then now she had become a Primordial.
She had become different, and the Tree of Life behind her seemed to reveal the kind of monster she had become.
She hovered in the air, facing someone else. This person was a man with pale white skin and a body covered in tattered black cloth. His disheveled hair flowed down his back, touching his waist.
A massive skull with glowing red eye sockets hovered imposingly behind him. This man is Death, or more accurately, the Spirit of Death.
"We are not supposed to be in the same place at the same time," Lady Kenzie said.
The man smiled and nodded. "Yet here we are, and I think we both know what needs to be done."
Lady Kenzie nodded. "I do. So why don’t we get right on that? I would love to see what Life and Death can achieve when they come together."
"Likewise."
Both moved, and when they met, they placed their palms together and closed their eyes.
On the outside, Namarie widened her eyes, staring at a Yin-Yang diagram appearing behind Kent.
