Chapter 1785: Overpowered Techniques (6)

"T-This... is... the Life and Death Tai Chi Diagram," Namarie jumped to her feet, a shocked expression riddling her face. Her hands shook, and for a moment, she turned pale.

If one didn’t understand the depth of her power, they would have mistaken her reaction for fear. However, she was an Eternal, someone far stronger than Kent. She is basically incapable of feeling fear from a weakling like Kent...

So her reaction, while mind-bending, was actually a mix of excitement and shock.

First of all, she had never expected Kent to awaken the Upside-Down Everlasting Garden as his cultivation furnace. Second, she never expected him to cultivate both the Life and Death aspects of the World Root Chaos Scripture.

In fact, she was more shocked that, in just a year, he had cultivated both Life and Death to the full completion of the first form of the World Root Chaos Scripture.

It takes a deeper understanding of Life and Death to achieve even half of what he did, and it would have taken no less than 10,000 years.

"Namarie, a little context would help," Borislav said.

Namarie, who had been lost in her own world, snapped back to reality and answered,

"Long story short, just like with the first three techniques, he also awakened the Upside-Down Everlasting Garden, which is said to hold power over both life and death.

Naturally, we both expected this, so that isn’t much of a shock. However, the first form of the World Root Chaos Scripture concerns comprehending Life and Death and forming either a Tree of Life or a Death Skull.

He had done both, and most importantly, he had merged the two, forming the infamous Life and Death Tai Chi Diagram that only the Chaos Ascension King had wielded.

Basically, the kid has become unkillable, no matter how you look at it. While he is not immune to death yet, what would have taken a million years of effort to kill him a year ago would now take a hundred billion years of effort.

Honestly, I don’t know what he had become after the first three techniques, but now, I think he may just be the first person ever to wield the powers of both life and death to this extent while he hadn’t attained divinity yet..."

Everyone became solemn, unsure of what to even say at this point. In fact, Fiannarel, who seemed to know more about Kent, was now wondering if she really knew anything about him.

’No need. He promised to tell me everything when we return home.’ A smile formed at the corner of her lips. ’I guess we have a lot more to talk about. How exciting.’

If only Kent knew he would soon have a clingy sister who wouldn’t take her eyes off him even for a moment, he would probably ditch her here and never return to get her.

"So, I think I am not the only one wondering this, but if Kent somehow turns out to be the Chaos Ascension King, how are we going to handle things? I know Jyoti Lata has already signed a contract with him, but what about us? Do we do the same, or just accept him as he is... as Kent Madson?" Tumenk asked.

The rest of the Eternals became stunned, everyone turning to look at Kent again.

However, just before Parand could reply, two spheres emerged from Kent’s forehead and manifested into two imposing figures.

Lady Kenzie stood on one side, fields of grass and flowers growing around her, while the darkly clad figure representing Death stood with his arms crossed, a graveyard and scenes of carnage materializing behind him.

When Namarie saw this, she fell back into her seat, pale and trembling, this time from fear.

Misinterpreting this as danger, the other Eternals immediately went into battle mode, their auras flaring to life.

"DON’T!"

However, Namarie’s voice stopped them just before they could make the biggest mistake of their lives.

"They are not our enemies. In fact, they are a miracle, so don’t dare mess with them unless you wish for death at the hands of the Chaos Ascension King."

The Eternals paled, and under their stunned gazes, Namarie went down on her knees and bowed.

"All hail the Sovereign of Life and Death."

Kent, who was seated in a lotus position, slowly opened his eyes. At once, the Eternals saw that one eye, glowing green, contained an overflowing force of Life so vast and boundless that they nearly fell into a trance.

In the other eye, black in color, they saw a dark and twisted plain of Death, unimaginably vast and horrifying by all standards. For a moment, they wondered if Kent had become the embodiment of Death itself.

"Makes me wonder why I never came here sooner," Kent said, stretching his hand. He yawned before adding, "But I must say, Life and Death truly are not something to play with."

He turned and looked at Namarie, who was still on her knees.

"I don’t know why I am here or who I really am. But calling me the Sovereign of Life and Death is a bit of a stretch."

Namarie smiled and responded, almost drooling with joy.

"You don’t understand, Lord Kent. According to the old records, the very day one awakens the Spirit of Life and Death, they shall be known as the Sovereign of Life and Death.

It was said that a very long time ago, a lone figure with no lineage or purpose roamed the Primordial Chaos with power so overwhelming that nobody below or above Existence could contend with him.

They said he was so powerful that the Laws, Daos, and everything in existence bowed at his feet. One day, he came to this world and fought the Chaos Ascension King, just as he had fought many others.

During their battle, the Chaos Ascension King invoked the True Name of Life and Death, hoping to suppress him. After all, the concept of immortality was merely an idea. The cycle of Life and Death is eternal and cannot be avoided.

However, this person overcame it with a mere wave of his hand. When questioned by the Chaos Ascension King, he said he had already transcended Death and claimed Life, so nothing could kill him, not even the overwhelming might of the Chaos Ascension King.

That day, the Chaos Ascension King named him the Paragon, for he had transcended Existence and stood beyond both the known and the unknown, stepping on the Heavenly Dao and everything else.

He also bestowed the power over Life and Death upon the Chaos Ascension King, promising to fight him once again when he finally reached that level.

Years later, they fought again, and it ended in a tie. However, many who witnessed even a fraction of that battle all said one thing... Life and Death dance upon the palm of the Sovereign of Life and Death."

"Wow... chills," Kent muttered, looking at his body. He clearly never expected his achievement to now be attributed to a legendary event that had happened billions, perhaps even trillions, of years ago.

Yet again, it revolved around one person, and that person, of course, was the Paragon. He had met him many times, and each time, the Paragon seemed to impress him somehow.

’Just what are you, Paragon, and what do you want from me?’

For a moment, the idea that he was here because of the Paragon crossed his mind. But that was just impossible, not when he believed he had come here of his own accord because, be that as it may, he now believed might just be the legendary Chaos Ascension King.
