Chapter 1795: The Inheritance
Chapter 1795: The Inheritance
Kent had no idea what the inheritance was. However, he was already convinced that he was the Chaos Ascension King, so he knew the inheritance came from him—the part of himself that had kick-started this whole reincarnation cycle.
Although Paragon had been a bit vague in his explanation, he had made Kent aware that he had once been an existence that stood above all others.
He also hinted that this was a cycle started by Kent himself, and now, he had to finish it by getting ahead of things. This meant that instead of waiting until he became a Primordial before continuing where he had left off, now, he can start the process much earlier.
In the past, he began when he met the paragon. Now, he is starting from the demigod stage.
Something had happened that led to their failure to stop whatever Paragon had asked for help with. However, that failure might also have revealed where he had been lacking.
So he devised a plan to ensure that this time, he would fix that weakness before he reached the point where he would have to face that terror again.
If he could fix it this early and continue improving himself before that meeting, who was to say he wouldn’t be able to rise above whatever obstacle awaited him?
Even now, without the inheritance, Kent could feel that he had broken a limit that was supposed to exist in the first place. He had gone beyond what he was meant to be as a Demigod.
That put him in a good mood, and as he followed Tower toward the inheritance, he couldn’t help but wonder what awaited him and, more importantly, what would become of him after inheriting it.
He let his mind drift from that thought for a moment, focusing on something else...
Looking at Tower, he asked, "I learned that I created the Chaos Chasm and its inhabitants. Since that is the case, can I bring them with me to the Infinity Universe if they are to be housed inside Tower City?"
"Yes," Tower replied, making Kent sigh in relief. "Since the Master is going to reclaim his inheritance, my mission here will end, meaning the Chaos Tower will become whole again. Naturally, everything here is a part of the Tower, so yes, the Master can take them.
But like Lord Paragon said, unless you want to trigger a higher form of war, only some Celestials and those below can be allowed to roam the Universe."
"That is good enough. While I cannot promise that the Tower will be enough to contain them, I believe they have their purpose. So for now, let’s retrieve the inheritance. Then later, we can talk about the best way to make them happy."
He had created them, after all.
After a few more minutes of walking, they arrived at another temple, one with nineteen statues standing before it. At first glance, Kent recognised them.
Six stood on the left, while thirteen stood on the right.
The first person on the left was clearly the Slaughter King, Bhaalzhar. He was one of the Six True Primordials, the man who had given Kent the Bone Tempering Art and the Nine Blood Gate Slaughter Art.
He had already told Kent that their existence was to prepare six special bloodlines that would merge with the Primordial Chaos Dragon Bloodline. Once that happened, Kent’s true bloodline would awaken.
So far, he had only met Bhaalzhar, but looking at the statues now, he knew the other five were among the True Primordials as well.
Four of them were men, and two were women. But Kent didn’t dwell on them for long, since he knew he would learn more about them soon enough.
The thirteen statues on the right were, of course, his thirteen past lives. Chaos was the first, followed by Jest and the others. So far, he had recalled the memories of nine lives, leaving him with only four more to go.
As for what those thirteen lives had in store for him, aside from extensive battle experience and historical knowledge, he was about to find out.
"I believe the Master has already awakened the Thirteen-Layered Life Discs and the Six-Mark Fate Disc," Tower asked, and Kent nodded.
"I have. Though I have to ask, what do the Thirteen-Layered Life Discs do? I know the Six-Mark Fate Disc has to do with the bloodlines of the Six True Primordials."
"The Thirteen-Layered Life Discs are meant for the classes wielded by your thirteen incarnations. The idea is for the Master to be able to wield all those classes with ease and continue advancing them."
Kent smiled a bit, having suspected this. He had wondered in the past why his other classes weren’t registering in the system. In his opinion, he should have been able to evolve those classes into higher versions.
So the fact that he couldn’t have left him a bit baffled. But now, it appeared he could do it using the Thirteen-Layered Life Discs.
They walked into the building, where only a small golden key hovering above a miniature tower could be seen.
"All the Master has to do is take the key and unlock the tower," Tower instructed, and Kent stepped forward.
He reached for the key and grabbed it. Then he looked at the tower and slowly inserted the key into the keyhole. Kent twisted it counterclockwise, and a lock clicked open.
The moment it did, Kent felt a flood of information pour into his mind as messages filled his vision, causing him to close his eyes and stand there for several minutes.
Kent could feel it. As the information flowed into his mind, he finally sensed a unique connection forming between him and the nine classes he had awakened.
He had been a Brawler during the Primordial Era. After all, most dragons preferred to fight like brutes. But he became a Swordsman during the Divine Era and an Assassin during the Shadow Era.
Then he went on to become many things throughout the ten remaining lives.
Right now, he could sense the connection forming between him and nine classes, showing that the nine lives whose memories he had recalled had now awakened their classes.
He let this sink in, for he understood that, regardless of how much time had passed, his past would always find a way to shape his future.
Now, he had awakened so many classes, and even without moving a finger, he could feel his understanding of them deepening.
It was as though he had always possessed those classes, but now, they had truly become a part of him... He had become their rightful owner.
But that wasn’t all.
He also sensed a very powerful bloodline awaken within him. The moment it did, he felt his main bloodline, the Primordial Chaos Dragon Bloodline, grow even stronger.
He could still sense that his bloodline awakening remained at 45%. But now he could feel a much deeper power flowing through it than before inheriting his legacy.
Now, he could sense that power coursing through him and, more importantly, his Blood and Slaughter Path had merged with his very being, making him far more connected to who he was meant to be rather than who he had been forced to become.
The process took a couple more minutes. When it ended, Kent smiled and sat in the lotus position to examine everything first.
He understood that once he left this place, he would be walking into a battle that would determine whether he was ready to liberate this universe from the clutches of evil or succumb to them.
