Chapter 1794: The Trial
Chapter 1794: The Trial
During the Dark Era, when the Dark Creatures attacked, everyone fought bravely, and they won in the end... well, that was the narrative they believed.
However, that narrative was far from the truth.
In fact, the truth was that during the battle, when the Ruthless Bandit and the Night Riders faced off against the Dark Empress, the true Dark Empress remained hidden in a corner, waiting for the battle to end so she could make her debut.
Her plan was simple: while everyone had their guard lowered, she would make her move...
However, one spell from the Ruthless Bandit prevented her from accomplishing that, and so, since the Dark Era, she had been biding her time to return and exact her revenge.
Kent was already aware of her return.
He had already started making plans to handle her growing threat. Never did he expect that not only would he fail, but he wouldn’t even be there to handle it.
He could only wonder what was so important that it would make him miss such a clash. This also made him wonder just how powerful the Dark Empress had become after lying dormant for many eras.
He really had to put an end to her growing threat quickly before things became even more dire.
"Of course, I will take her on and squash her like a bug. But tell me, how strong is she right now?"
"If only her individual strength is put into question, then she isn’t that strong. But she is the Dark Empress with millions of Dark Fiends. This makes her a terror that cannot be underestimated.
Right now, you can kill her, but it will depend on how you approach it. All I can do is open the path for you and give you one last boost, since from here onward, your path will depend on your own decisions."
Kent nodded. "Then I will take on the mission. However, I have a question regarding the freedom I promised the people in the Chaos Chasm. If I finish this trial, can I free them from this place?"
"How should I know?" Paragon smirked.
"The last I checked, you created them, so do with them as you please. I just know that this world is your creation for a specific reason.
The people in it are also your creation for some top-level mission you never told me about. So maybe when you are done with the trial, that mission will reveal itself. But as far as I am concerned, their fate is in your hands now."
Kent sat frozen, unsure of what to say. But Paragon wasn’t done, not even by a long shot...
"But you must know, they cannot appear in your universe, at least not as Primordials or Eternals. Even if one Eternal were to step foot there, your universe will become a target for a higher form of war, one you are not ready for.
So, unless they are willing to submit to the Universe and have their cultivation base suppressed to the Celestial stage, then fine, you can send them there.
But then again, you told me they are your creation, part of a mission that will determine the fate of your universe. So maybe meet that lady first, and the rest will come to you eventually."
Kent nodded and asked, "Which lady should I meet?"
"I believe you used to call her Tower. I wonder why you gave such a name to someone so important to you."
Paragon suddenly swung his arm, and the fishing line stretched, showing it had latched onto something. With one pull, the water parted, and a large gate rose from the depths. It stopped, splashing water everywhere.
"There is no trial, but more of a mission. That said, it has become a trial now, and through this portal, you will be taken to where you will understand the core details of this unique realm.
I left this mark here today to help you break the rules twice. The first is the Dark Empress. Killing her now will be hard, but with this, I believe you can pull it off."
Paragon flicked his hand, and an orb flew over and merged with Kent’s forehead.
"> <You have received a Limitless Technique: Omnipresent Universe Three Body Art>
The details of the technique flowed into Kent’s mind...
"I will be leaving for now. Maybe one day, we will meet again, and hopefully, when that time comes, you will be done with the matters in your Universe and have ventured into the Universe Ocean."
The fishing line turned into sparks of light alongside Paragon, who disappeared, leaving Kent to ponder everything he had just heard. More importantly, he could now focus on the trial that had turned into a fight against a universe-level threat.
"An existence that even the Paragon couldn’t handle, huh... Makes me wonder just how powerful such a person really is," he smiled and chose to calm his heart for now.
The day would come when he would see who they were going up against. Hopefully, when that day finally arrived, he would be able to handle it.
He also pondered the fact that he had created the Chaos beings in the Chaos Chasm. Honestly, he wasn’t too shocked by that, since it had crossed his mind the moment he discovered he was the Chaos Ascension King.
But knowing he was the progenitor of such a powerful race made him wonder just what he had planned for them. His mind was filled with so many questions, but he allowed himself to relax.
He took a step forward and entered the gateway that Paragon had dragged from the water. The next second, he appeared in a hall identical to the one he, the seven tribe leaders, and Fiannarel had come to for the Chaos Ascension King Trial.
Well, it appeared this place might be the real temple, since the one who had spoken to them as the Temple Guardian now stood facing him.
Their gazes met, and although this figure stood 5’9" tall, she looked exactly like Tower. She smiled and said, "Welcome back, Master. I have been expecting you."
Kent was stunned for a few moments before asking,
"Are you Tower?"
She smiled and replied, "Yes. I am the real deal, the true Tower."
"How is that possible?"
"My job is to make sure the Master grows stronger and to aid in any way I can to ensure the Universe is protected. I have been guarding the Master’s legacy ever since you chose to pursue true reincarnation.
I had to ensure your legacy remained intact while also protecting the race you had left behind. So, I extracted two parts of my existence and let one escort you through the thirteen cycles of reincarnation while the other protected the Chaos Chasm.
As for me, my main mission is to hold on to this." She extended her hand, and a book of about three hundred pages was placed into Kent’s hands. He reached for it with steady hands.
"What is it?" Kent asked, looking at the book. He tried to open it, but it was sealed.
"It contains the account of who you were, why you became the Primordial Chaos Dragon and what you plan to do from this moment onward."
Kent examined the book a few more times before asking again, "How do I open it?"
"Master cannot open it just like that. The pages will open for you when the time is right. For now, the Master should follow me to where we can begin the legacy inheritance."
