Chapter 1876 Second Flame Matriarch

Chapter 1876 Second Flame Matriarch

[First Wave of the Flame War - Flame Era]

Fjorge, or as many called him, the Nine Underworld Flame Blacksmith, stood on a scorched battlefield, his expression grim as he watched the advance of a sea of warriors, each radiating intense heat.

Some had twisted horns, many appeared as demon-beast hybrids, and some looked human—perhaps too perfect to be human, even.

Leading them was a woman whose beauty could easily bring about the fall of a galaxy. She radiated the intense flame aura of a Pseudo-Primordial, and in her hand was a spear shaped like the fang of a tiger.

"So she is the infamous Second Flame Matriarch?" Fjorge asked, turning to a lady clad in crimson armor and wielding a broadsword.

"Yes, my lord. She was the one the message said we should look out for and never underestimate," Ruby answered, her gaze burning with lethal battle intent. Behind her, forty others stood, each ready for battle.

"Have you heard from the others?" Fjorge asked, and Ruby nodded.

"They are in position, each waiting for your signal."

Fjorge smiled and pointed forward. "In that case, it was nice knowing you all, since I might die this time."

He laughed, jumped down from the cliff, and landed on the scorched ground, sending a large, powerful shockwave through the surroundings.

Up ahead, the Second Flame Matriarch grinned and flew into the air.

She had already heard about the Nine Underworld Flame Blacksmith and had wanted to fight him. So, seeing him advance, she did the same, hoping to battle him to the death.

"So you are who the Flame Empress was concerned about, huh? The infamous champion of the Damnation Arena, the Nine Underworld Flame Blacksmith," the Second Flame Matriarch remarked, a smirk forming at the corner of her lips.

"Oh, so you have heard of me, huh?" Fjorge laughed. "Do tell, aren't you afraid of me, then?"

"Afraid of you?" the Second Flame Matriarch laughed out loud, her mocking tone echoing through the air. "If there is something I should be afraid of, then it should be what I am going to do to you."

"Is that so? Well, don't say I didn't warn you." Fjorge raised his hammer and rested the handle on his shoulder. "Now, allow me to teach you why your Empress had even heard of me all the way in the Flame Demon Realm."

Fjorge moved, and the flames moved with him.

The battle was what many would consider legendary. Every clash of their weapons left deadly marks in the air, the void shattering and healing with every passing second.

Around them, every flame was supercharged with flame runes and intense flame laws. Fjorge used his understanding of the flames to attack and defend, and the Second Flame Matriarch seemed to be doing the same.

It was just that they were moving so fast that nobody could see what kind of attacks either of them was using.

Five hours later, however, they saw the result, and it sent shockwaves throughout the ranks of the flame demons that had come with the Second Flame Matriarch.

Fjorge held the Second Flame Matriarch by the neck, every bone in her body broken and deformed. As much as she wanted to heal, her healing speed had been greatly suppressed while Fjorge held her by the neck.

Of course, Fjorge didn't come out of the fight unscathed. However, he was in a far better position compared to the Second Flame Matriarch.

"Killing you would be mercy, and to be honest, very difficult. So I will not kill you, but you are going to wish I did." He slammed her body into the ground, and she passed out instantly.

[Several Years Later]

The Second Flame Matriarch looked up at the empty sky, her eyes radiating intense hatred. She sensed the presence of someone she had been meaning to kill for a very long time.

A few seconds later, the sky split open, and Kent appeared, with Mjolnir following behind a second later. The moment they appeared, the sky healed, and the heat that accompanied them vanished.

Their gazes met instantly, and an untamed killing intent erupted from the Second Flame Matriarch's eyes.

"Nine Underworld Flame Blacksmith..." she muttered, her tone flat and cold.

"Did you miss me?" Kent said with mocking laughter, a sound and expression that left the Second Flame Matriarch fuming.

They say obsession is not healthy. However, in her case, her obsession with killing the Nine Underworld Flame Blacksmith had kept her sane throughout the last couple of eras she had spent chained down here.

All she wanted was the chance to kill the Nine Underworld Flame Blacksmith and wash away the humiliation she had suffered at his hands. She had come with high expectations, hoping to kill Kent and make a name for herself.

However, things had ended rather badly for her instead.

"No need to look so angry, Second Flame Matriarch. For what it's worth, we defeated the flame races, sending the rest packing, so you didn't humiliate yourself that much."

Kent's words only seemed to fuel her spirit of vengeance.

"Remove these chains now, and let's see who would lose."

Kent laughed.

"Very funny, Second Flame Matriarch. We both know the only way you're going to get out of those chains is by accepting my offer. To tell you the truth, your era has long passed, and there is no such thing as gaining your freedom ever again.

So, what do you think? Are you willing to swear the Oath of the Flame and fight for me, or will you keep being stubborn, hoping for a day when you can break free? News flash, that day will never come."

A grin formed on Kent's face. Then he tapped into his newfound power, unleashing his killing intent and bringing an overwhelming pressure and dread down upon the Second Flame Matriarch.

Her expression suddenly paled. At that very moment, part of her wished she hadn't tried to threaten Kent.

However, Kent hadn't come this time to sweet-talk her.

No, he had come to recruit her, for he had found a way back to the Flame Realm, and he needed an obedient guide for when he was ready to head over.

If he wished to defeat the flame race, he first had to understand their power structure and battle formations.

Who better to help him with that than the second strongest Flame General of the Flame Era?
