Chapter 1878 Top Ranker
Chapter 1878 Top Ranker
"No fucking way," Unity muttered, her expression dazed as she stared at the name sitting at the top of the ranking. One could tell they had never expected this person to rank first.
However, here they all were, staring at what they knew was the accurate ranking, for Tower wasn't one to make mistakes about stuff like this.
"Still, how did Dia manage to become the top ranker? We all experienced the battle, and while I hate to admit it, I expected either Adina, Zaila, or Elsa to rank first. How did Dia make it to the top?" Vexthra asked, clearly stunned.
Even Dia herself seemed stunned, staring at her name at the top of the rankings.
During the Dark War, Adina used her abilities to mesmerize hundreds of Dark Creatures, permanently making them her army. They listened only to her, and per the rules, their kills were hers to claim.
They had killed quite a lot of dark fiends, and their points were added to Adina's. However, it now appeared that even with this aid, she hadn't reached Dia's level. Still, she managed to rank second, which was something.
As for Zaila, who ranked third, she had also unlocked an aspect of her mind control powers during the battle, allowing her to enthrall the Dark Creatures.
While her powers awakened during the battle, she managed to amass a good number of points from both her personal kills and her thralls.
Still, that didn't help.
Then there was Elsa, who had also managed to summon her Soul Sentinels. While her powers awakened near the climax of the battle, she amassed quite a few points. That had made most of her sisters wonder if she would rank even higher.
But Dia was at the top, and they just didn't understand it.
Luckily, Tower saw this coming and had prepared.
She waved her hand, and a giant display showing certain moments of the Dark War appeared. On the screen, the moment Dia unleashed her Hair Domain appeared.
This time, however, the display showed what happened within the domain.
When they saw it, every last one of them became convinced. Dia indeed deserved the first spot, for what they were watching showed that she had indeed killed her fair share of opponents.
Inside her Hair Domain, thousands of Gods, Supremes, and even some Celestials were devoured, erased from existence as they became trapped.
It was as if whatever entered her Hair Domain was destined to die...
"This is hard to understand or believe, but Big Sister Dia's Hair Domain grows with every kill. So while she started out killing Gods, it quickly picked up, and she was able to kill Supremes, which helped her kill Celestials.
Kill count-wise, she ranks in the top ten, but in terms of points accumulated from the quality of kills, none of you come close. She earned her spot all by herself, and that is commendable."
"Of course, we are all happy for her," Pandora said, a smile forming on her face.
The rest of her sisters joined in, congratulating Dia. "Congratulations, Dia. You deserve the best after all, so enjoy it."
The Mother of Heart Demons smiled and nodded. "Thank you all. Although I never expected this, I am happy to have gotten it."
They smiled and laughed with her.
The rewards for the top ranker were three months of uninterrupted time with Kent. Those ranked second through tenth would each get two months, while those ranked eleventh through thirtieth would each get one month. Anyone below that would only get a week.
Looking at the rankings now, they all knew where they ranked and how long they would get to spend with Kent, who had promised to return to the tower once he was done with his business with Lady Khronisia.
"Next time, I will take the first spot," Adina said, staring at her name, currently seated in second place on the rankings.
"You make it sound like I will be sleeping through the battle or something," Zaila sneered, looking at Adina, who thought that scoring second place meant she had the right to aim for first place next time.
Elsa also smirked, already prepared for when the next battle would arrive so she and her Soul Sentinels could prove to everyone that they were once the bane of every army.
A legion of warriors, each specializing in a unique Soul Art, surely made them a legion of terrifying warriors.
"At the end of the day, it is about getting the job done, so we shouldn't compete against each other," Elaine said, allowing a small smile to form on her face.
Vexthra, who knew the kind of monsters Elaine was currently cultivating inside her Life and Death Primordial Space, smiled but said nothing.
She knew the next time they fought, the rankings would be different.
Why did she say that...
It was because, inside the top ten, there were two people whose rankings many of them were shocked by, one being Neomi and the other Alina.
Neomi, the Mother of Killers, ranked seventh, while Alina ranked eighth. It should be noted that Neomi fought with her twin short swords, while Alina spent most of her time protecting her sisters with arrays and formations.
For them to be within the top ten showed that they might just be the two with the fastest kill rates among their sisters. Neomi especially had surprised everyone. Unlike Alina, who could deploy dozens of formations, she fought only with her two swords and killed in close combat.
Such terrifying battle prowess was simply too good to be true.
But Neomi had proven herself to be someone who could not be underestimated.
Maybe next time, she would prove to everyone why she was the best and deserved to rank first.
But for now, the rankings were set, and when Kent returned, he would spend three months with Dia, and then the rest would follow.
Hopefully, by the time he was done with them, the time for the Galactic Pill Competition would arrive, allowing him to progress further on the path of pill making and finally become someone who could challenge even Pill Gods.
