Chapter 1899 First Three Selection
Chapter 1899 First Three Selection
Kent had already made up his mind not to associate himself with the Universe Council, and he most certainly had no plans to interact with the Celestial Supreme in this life.
While the Celestial Supreme who betrayed him and a few others wasn't this one, he had learned a very long time ago that the Universe Council was one he could not trust.
In fact, all other major organizations, such as the Ice Council, the Elemental Council and even the Pill Council, could not be trusted. So, since that was the case, he knew he had to make sure they were all aware that he had no plans to rely on them.
They could choose not to rely on him, and he was fine with that.
After all, if they messed up, he could clean up their mess. But if he trusted them and they betrayed him, like how the twelve Sword Elders did during the Divine Era, then he might just lose his life.
In the end, it was up to whether or not Kent trusted them, and the answer was no, he didn't. So he made his stance clear, and as to whether they liked it or not, he didn't really care.
Right now, he knew he had to form a team of ten members, including himself, to face the challenge the Blood Savage Heavens had thrown at the Infinity Universe.
The people he selected would be the best and willing to die, since that was the only way they would either win or lose.
If they won, they would get to live. However, if they lost, well, that meant death, and there was no way he could stop that from happening.
Somehow, Kent could already tell there was something much bigger afoot, so he had to take matters much more seriously. This was also where the Universe Council came in.
Inasmuch as he hated them, he knew they were useful somehow, and so he would allow them to handle whatever else the Blood Savage Heavens were planning.
But that didn't mean he would relax after finding the ten people to represent the universe.
Kent knew he had to become much more active than that, so he left the Universe Council with an absolute declaration and returned to the tower, where every last member of his legion, except those in the Star Realm and the Night Riders who weren't back yet from the 14th Level of Hell, was waiting for him in the Legion Tower.
After returning to the tower a few hours ago with Eliza and the blood challenge scroll, he knew he had to prepare for what was coming.
He knew the Blood Spear King had to return again. However, since he had not recalled all his memories, he wasn't sure how to go about it.
But that call changed when he touched the Blood Scroll.
The moment he did, his memories of his life as the Blood Spear King all returned to him.
He saw his life from when he was a child, through his mother's death at the hands of bandits and his father's remarriage to a queen who already had three children.
He saw from the point he started training to become a warrior, after one of his stepsisters defied their parents and entered a bloody trial.
He witnessed what changed after Eliza returned from the trial and why he later also chose to enter the same trial. Later on, he rose through the ranks to become one of the most dangerous warriors the universe had ever seen.
He witnessed how he formed the Blood Hounds, a legion of 600 warriors, each a menace on the battlefield and a survivor of the Blood Death Trial.
Later, he recalled his happy life, in which he married one of his stepsisters and a princess from the Blood Demon Race. His first wife, his stepsister, died during the Blood War, but his second wife lived, and she promised to wait for him.
Lastly, every last memory of what had happened during the Blood War returned to him.
Finally, he understood why he had received a quest to go to the Flame Paradise. It appeared his spear had retreated there, and he had to go retrieve it.
Kent needed that spear for the Blood Challenge, so his next plan after this meeting with his legion, who were already aware of the Blood Challenge, would be to head over to the Flame Paradise.
Kent scanned the faces of everyone gathered before him, and while all of them qualified to fight for the universe, he knew only a select few could survive it.
"I know you all have heard the challenge, and you all wish to represent the universe. While that is admirable, I would have to disappoint you all and say no, I cannot and will not allow that to happen."
Frowns appeared on every one of their faces.
"Why, are you trying to say we are weak?" Val, known for her sharp tongue, asked with a pout on her face.
Kent smiled and shook his head. "No, not at all. If anything, you all are the right warriors for the job. However, while I am the youngest one here, I have lived long enough to know when there is a trap, and sadly, that trap cannot be avoided."
"Are you saying the challenge is a trap?" Mara asked.
"Oh yes, the challenge is a big trap. From how I look at it, the Blood Savage Heavens want the best and the brightest of this universe to be gathered in one place so they can execute their main offense, and unfortunately for them, I know where that would be.
"Meaning, while I am away, you all will be the ones to fight to ensure their plans don't bear any fruit. Trust me, your missions will be far more dreadful than mine."
Kent smiled and turned to look at Kaizo. "That said, I have no plans to go alone. Some of you will go with me to face the challenge."
"Who among us will be going?" Unity asked.
"I will be going with Kaizo and Neomi."
"YESSSSS!" Kaizo jumped to his feet, practically drooling with joy, while Neomi narrowed her eyes at Kent, clearly not expecting to be selected.
Kent smiled and walked toward her, taking her hand. "Among your sisters and everyone in the legion, aside from Uncle Drew and me, you are the next most dreadful warrior we have. If I don't select you, who else would I select?"
Neomi's eyes trembled, then tears started rolling down her face.
Kent smiled and hugged her.
