Chapter 1920 Revenge Is a Bitch (5)

A few hours after Liora had arrived in the household of the Grandmaster she would be serving under, midnight finally came, and so she was ready to ensure that by the time morning came, everyone would be under their control.
She sat in a lotus posture, and then she closed her eyes.
After sitting for a few minutes, she formed some hand seals, and outside the main gate, the runes she had left there lit up and merged with the walls.
Somewhere inside the stronghold, a man opened his eyes for a brief moment and then closed them.
Liora didn't know she had come this close to being discovered. But since she was still alive, she formed more hand seals, and soon, the runes moved within the walls, spreading out for 10 good minutes.
After a while, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
'Okay, you can come now.'
Inside the tower, 50 Shadow Fiends merged with Lani's shadow, and 50 merged with Vari's.
"Remember, everything must be done quietly and efficiently. We can't afford to be discovered this early," Vexthra warned, and they nodded.
"Good. Once they are dead, bring them here for Princess Dominique to awaken and purify them. We have 12 hours, that is roughly 12 days in here, so let's make it worth it."
"We understand, Big Sister."
A few seconds later, they vanished and appeared inside the sleeping quarters of the maids. The moment they arrived, Lani and Vari went into action.
They merged with the shadows, and they were gone.
"So serious, those two," Adina smirked before hugging Liora. "I hope those bastards didn't hurt you."
"They did not. I made sure they had no reason to touch me," Liora replied with a smile.
In the past, whenever she infiltrated vaults and households of people she had no business messing with, she always went with the intention of not returning.
After all, she had no one who would miss her, nor anyone she would miss.
However, things are different now. There are thousands of people who will miss her, and she will miss them, so she was both afraid and ecstatic when the idea of infiltrating the main stronghold of the Grim Arcane Legends was proposed.
Now, hugging Adina and feeling her breath on her shoulders, she could finally feel how much she needed this hug.
"I am fine, Adina. You have to get ready, though, since the maids will soon return from their posts," Liora said, and Adina nodded, pulling back only to hug her again.
Liora just allowed her to have her way. Luckily, after 2 minutes, she was done and ready to work.
"There is something strange about all this. Normally, maids don't work all night. Before I was hunted down, I was a princess, you know, and my maids mostly worked till 9 in the evening. The guards are mostly the ones who stay up all night.
"So, based on that knowledge, I can boldly say something isn't right here."
"I had the same hunch, but until we can question them, we wouldn't know, so for now, mesmerize them, and later we will find out why they are all working after 10 pm."
Adina nodded, sat on the bed and started humming a low tune. Soon, this tune filled the room, making Liora, who was even excluded from it, feel mesmerized.
She felt drawn to Adina and wanted to worship her. That feeling alone was more dangerous than a dagger held to her neck.
'Very dangerous. I'd better cut off my hearing.'
A few minutes later, two maids entered the room. The moment they did, their steps came to a halt, and they smiled, walked toward Adina and sat on the ground before her.
A few seconds later, a pink leaf appeared on their foreheads, showing she had mesmerized them, and they were now under her control.
A few minutes later, more maids entered, and just like the first ones, they were all mesmerized.
While this was happening, Lani and Vari, alongside the 100 Shadow Fiends, were also moving around the mansion, killing and sending the bodies back into the tower.
They had the element of surprise and the darkness to their advantage, so before any of the guards could make a sound, a dagger had already stabbed through their necks.
In less than an hour, all 45 guards and 10 Masters had been subdued. The only one left was the Grandmaster, who was having a massage in his room.
Lani and Vari gave him to the Shadow Fiends, who, from this simple mission, had established themselves as menaces when it came to the art of assassination.
They were that good, and so the two ladies were grateful their husbands had sent them over to aid them in their campaign.
"Make it quick, but keep the two maids alive."
The temporary leader of the Shadow Fiends, who held a cultivation base of Peak Universal God, nodded and left with five others.
Five minutes later, they appeared inside the tower with the body of the True Supreme, who didn't even know when he died.
The maids, all 18 of them, were also subdued by Adina and sent into the tower. In their place, Liora activated one of Alina's formations, and clones of everyone they had just killed and mesmerized appeared.
For now, they would serve as decoys, so if someone came knocking, they wouldn't be suspicious.
Some of the Shadow Fiends remained to make sure all who came never went back.
Liora and Adina also returned to the tower since the first phase of their mission was nearly complete. The next would depend on how fast Princess Dominique could awaken and purify them.
Afterwards, they would question the Grandmaster, and then, whatever they discovered, they would make their final plans and inform Crimson Dagger and the Midnight Shadows when to attack.
