"And... done," Athena said, pulling her hand back.
Before her, a man who appeared to be in his late 40s, with a bald head and a goatee, sat in a lotus posture, a wave of Supreme Qi rotating around him.
He had died and was revived as an undead. Now, he had been purified, making him no different from a living person. Not even another Primordial would know this man was an undead.
This man was Kaba, and before today, he was one of the many grandmasters of the Grim Arcane Legends.
"Nicely done, Athena. The rest have already been sent back to the stronghold to keep up appearances should, in case, something happen. Luckily for us, nothing happened, atleast for now."
Princess Dominique said, wiping the sweat off Athena's forehead. Although she was the one who awakened this man and the rest of the guards, it was Athena who diligently worked to purify them.
So she was tired. It was not easy to purify the souls of so many gods and even a Supreme in less than a day.
"We can question him to know what he knows."
If they had captured him, then Zaila would have entered his mind and extracted whatever she wanted. But since he was now on their side, he could be questioned.
Vexthra took charge of the questioning.
"State your name and your rank within the Grim Arcane Legends."
"My name is Kaba, a Grandmaster."
"As a grandmaster, what is your role?" she asked again.
"I manage a small team of masters responsible for gathering information for the Arcane Order."
The ladies turned and looked at each other and smiled, knowing they had struck gold with this one. Since he was into information gathering, he surely knew more than many of his rank.
He was a good kill, and they knew that even before asking the questions they wanted answers for.
"Tell us, how is the power structure within the Grim Arcane Legends? Start from the topmost rank and work your way down. Be sure to include their cultivation bases."
Kaba didn't even hesitate, unlike how he would have if his life were still his to control. He was now an undead, his life bound to Princess Dominique.
"We have five Monarchs, each a powerful cultivator. Among the five, Monarch Voron is the strongest of them. He formed the Grim Arcane Legends and has been the main leader of us all.
"He is a Primordial, but I don't know how deep his cultivation really is. But I know he became a Primordial during the last three eras, so he is very strong if you ask me.
"After him came Monarch Aethros, also a Primordial. Then there is Monarch Drakonis, an exiled dragon prince who joined the Grim Arcane Legends two eras ago.
"Many say he is the second strongest, but the fourth member is very mysterious, and so I would say he is the second strongest. His name is Monarch Nexus. I have only seen him once, but from what I have observed, he is strong.
"Then the last of them is Monarch Solran. He is quiet, intelligent and the most seen monarch among all five."
He sighed and added, "Aside from the five Monarchs, there are also 25 Sages, each a Pseudo-Primordial. Under each Sage, there are 10 Saints, each holding the cultivation base of a Peak Celestial.
"And each Saint has 100 Grandmasters under them. We range between Supreme and Celestial. As for the rest, I have no number to count them."
"Very informative. But say we were to attack them now, how many warriors should we expect to face in battle?"
"I would estimate roughly between 450,000 and 900,000."
"That is a huge number," Dia commented, her fist clenched. While they have the numbers, these odds are just too much to handle, even for them.
"The only way we can win is if we make sure half of this number is either taken care of silently or, when it is time for the battle, they will be held back by something long enough for us to gain the upper hand.
"Still, I don't see us winning this, especially since we are going to their home turf. We need time to plan," Princess Lovina remarked, and her sisters nodded.
"Princess Lovina is right, we need time," Zaila said.
"But that is the issue. We don't have time, not when Inkala is still out there, perhaps suffering," Ruby said, and everyone sighed. That one, too, was true; they indeed had no time to spare, not when they knew Inkala was alive and perhaps suffering.
Kaba suddenly raised his hand, causing the ladies to quiet down and listen to him speak. "Yes, we are listening."
"I don't know how this will help, but two weeks from today, Monarch Solran will be celebrating his 10-millionth birthday. During that time, the Grand Arcane Ten Strike Sage Formation will be deactivated.
"Once it is off, it will take an entire day to be activated again. This means the base will be vulnerable then. If my ladies and lords can use that, then perhaps you may have some chance of winning."
This revelation finally made the ladies understand why the maids were overworking.
"Two weeks is a long time. If we can work hard and subjugate more Grandmasters and even a few Saints, we might just be able to pull this off. Maybe even a few Sages," Pandora noted, and the ladies nodded.
"Then we do that since we are seriously outnumbered."
After a few more talks, the ladies were ready with a plan. The shadow fiends would handle most of the work, and Athena would be busier than ever.
The only saving grace was that time inside the tower ran much faster, and the food was also good, so she would have time to rest.
The only question left was the most important one...
"About 200,000 years ago, a small team of assassins were attacked by the Grim Arcane Legends and killed. They then kidnapped a lady called Inkala. Do you know her?"
Kaba sat there for a few seconds before he nodded, bringing light into Meiko's eyes.
What he said, however, made the ladies frown.
"If my memory serves me right, the person you are referring to will be crowned as one of the concubines of Monarch Solran during his birthday. After all, he was the one who issued the command back then."
