Chapter 1946 Revenge Is a Bitch(31)

Chapter 1946 Revenge Is a Bitch(31)

Some way, somehow, Kent managed to keep Emmet at bay for 30 minutes, and he intended to keep her at bay for another thirty minutes.

His body was at its breaking point, and even his cores were running dry. However, Kent didn't want to give up, not when his mission this time was critical.

He needed the Blood Spear for when the Blood Spear King would make his debut, now that the Savage Heavens had made their move against the universe, and he was the only person who could stand against them.

While he could use other weapons or even forge himself a new Blood Spear, Kent understood the concept of honor, loyalty and integrity, and so he planned not to break his promise to his old friend, Sanguine.

If he had returned with his memories recovered, then he could not just say he would forget the past he shared with his weapons.

They were his companions, and so no matter what, he would not allow the Primordial before him to succeed in taking the spear that he knew would send shivers down the spine of the Blood Race.

So against all odds, he would hold on and keep holding on till Mjolnir returned.

Meanwhile, several miles away from Kent, thousands of beasts and humanoids lay dead, some severely injured and a few burning with determination, believing they could still stop the brute who, out of nowhere, had appeared and, without any warning, started to kill.

Mjolnir looked calm, his fists covered in flames.

He had already killed close to a thousand Supremes and Celestials, and out of the 12 Pseudo-Primordials in the Little Maiden Garden, he had killed 5, leaving seven.

But they weren't faring any better.

In fact, they looked broken and were at the point where they would soon be nearing their deaths if he didn't hold himself back.

Suddenly, an explosion came from the distance where Kent was fighting, causing Mjolnir to turn and look.

Just then, a Pseudo-Primordial tried to use the moment of distraction to his advantage. So he moved, his speed blinding, aiming his dagger at Mjolnir's neck.

Mjolnir saw him coming since, with his level of strength, it would be insulting for a Pseudo-Primordial to sneak up on him.

However, instead of making a move to defend against his attack, he remained standing, allowing the Pseudo-Primordial to land his attack on his neck.

CLANG!

The sound of metal striking metal reverberated through the space, revealing to the Pseudo-Primordial that the one he had attacked was no human with flesh and blood.

He was made of metal whose hardness was sufficient to forge even Primordial Grade weapons.

Mjolnir turned slowly and looked at the man who attacked him. The latter turned into a shadow and flew away, fearing that a second spent closer to Mjolnir would get him killed.

"This is just too slow. Master is nearing his breaking point, so I better hurry." Mjolnir raised his hand and harnessed the power of his flame. Then he unleashed a powerful explosion that sent the attackers flying.

Tapping into the chaos, Mjolnir created a clone and let him slip away. A second later, the clone managed to get inside the cave where Sanguine, the Blood Spear, was tied up in chains.

Mjolnir, who was observant of everything, found himself trapped inside a red blood mist, instantly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of bloodlust, the kind that would turn him from a mere person into a monster who only thirsted for blood.

He knew he couldn't stay in that mist for long, so against his nature, he used the oldest trick in the playbook.

"Instead of trying to break free, you are here playing around with blood mist. I guess you don't want to be free."

Mjolnir knew he couldn't break through the mist in time, and considering it had already been 30 minutes, he could not be away from Kent much longer.

So talking to the Blood Spear was the only way.

"Our master is currently fighting a Primordial, so either you stop playing around, or you continue, and I will be forced to leave you be and go save him. Your choice."

The mist remained for a few more seconds before Sanguine laughed and said:

"Why so serious, buddy? You and I are both living weapons, so you should understand my predicament." The mist parted, and Sanguine, trapped in chains, was revealed.

He sat relaxed, almost as if he were in control of everything, but Mjolnir immediately saw through his act. The bastard was in pain, and that could be seen from the runes on the chains, which were now lit up, channeling his vitality.

"How can I free you without harming you?" Mjolnir asked.

Sanguine pointed at one of the chains connected directly to a formation on the wall.

"Break that chain, and I will be free."

Mjolnir nodded and transformed into his hammer form. Then runes lit up on his body, and with a terrifying surge of power, he moved, shattering the chain, the ground, and even the very cave Sanguine was held in.

"Damn, buddy, you are the serious type, huh?" The dust settled, and Mjolnir was revealed, hovering still in his hammer form.

Before him, the chain connected to the formation had shattered.

"Now what?" He turned to Sanguine and asked.

"Oh, no need to ask. Now that the formation is shattered, I can simply channel back my energy and break the remaining chains."

"How long would that take?"

"Less than five minutes." Sanguine closed his eyes and started muttering some strange words. Suddenly, the energy that was supposed to flow from him through the chains into the destroyed formation began to reverse.

The moment that happened, Sanguine let out a chilling laugh, one that reached as far as the battlefield where Kent and Emmet were fighting.

"NO!"

Emmet exclaimed, her expression turning pale as her head snapped to the side, looking in the direction of the cave.

"Ahh, I suppose that doesn't sound like a good thing, does it?" Kent asked, spitting out a mouthful of blood. He flashed a smile, causing his blood-coated teeth to glint dully.

Emmet turned to Kent, and her eyes grew colder.
