Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 867: Change of Plans

Chapter 867: Change of Plans

"Are you alright?" Adina asked, looking at Kent. Their faces were just a few inches apart, so they could each feel the other’s breath on their faces.

"I am fine," Kent replied, feeling a slight headache. "How long was I out for?"

"A day and a half," Adina replied, and Kent jerked up immediately. However, his body was drained of energy, so the moment he stood up, he fell again.

Adina caught him before he could fall. This time, she realized how close they were, so she immediately dropped him and retreated.

"What a baby. We were just having a moment. Why ruin it?" Kent smirked, then he turned to Iver, who was standing not far from him.

"Help me stand up." Iver nodded and approached Kent.

He helped him stand up. Kent smiled and moved out of the tent using the little energy he could muster.

Inside the tent, Adina was panting, feeling her heartbeat much faster than it should.

’That was close,’ she thought, inadvertently reflecting on how close she was to Kent just now. That scared her, for she never expected to come this close to a man.

’I better stay away from him. This brat is a poison.

With that decision set in her mind, she sat in a lotus posture to cultivate.

Kent took out some fruits and started eating, using the energy to strengthen himself. After a couple of minutes, he felt his body gain some power. He turned to Iver and handed some of the fruits to him.

"Eat up. We have a job to do, and I need you ready."

Iver nodded and started eating the fruit. A few seconds into eating, he sat down and began to cultivate his energy.

"Lucky bastard. I initially wanted to use you as bait to capture the Level 8 Spirit Lord Beast here. But now that I need to form my core, I suppose you won’t be dying just yet."

Kent walked back inside and started to make plans for when Iver was done.

Bhaal’khar had given him the Primal Core Formation Diagram, so now he knew how to advance his cultivation base.

However, instead of using spiritual energy from spirit stones or spirit crystals, he would now be using Beast cores.

Though it is not common to use the energy from a beast core for cultivation, only 30% of the energy within it is suitable for cultivating.

The remaining 70% is pure primal killing energy called Blood Energy or Blood Qi. In most cases, demons use at least 5% of this energy to cultivate, with some even using close to 10% to both cultivate and temper their bodies.

Basically, if one had the means, they wouldn’t use beast cores for cultivation, for the Blood Qi inside can easily corrode the body and affect one’s foundation.

However, in Kent’s case, he will be absorbing everything. The idea of cultivating everything was already enough to show just what kind of maniacal path Kent was setting for himself.

He asked Bhaal if he had cultivated the Primal Core Formation Diagram before, and his answer was both yes and no.

According to him, he had only managed to form seven Core Gates, which Kent could stop at if he chose to. He can rise to the Celestial stage with just seven core gates.

However, Bhaal made changes to the technique, which now requires Kent to form all nine before reaching the Immortal stage.

Forming the eighth and ninth was like opening the door to a whole new world of craziness, and while Kent knew all this, he wanted to walk that path, for he could only hope for more strength.

’Bhaal said I will start to see the change after absorbing my first core. I suppose I am looking forward to that.’

Kent smiled and then turned to Adina, who immediately looked away, pretending she wasn’t staring at him.

"I have something to handle up there tomorrow. Do you want to join in?" Kent asked, and Adina looked at him.

"Does it have something to do with me being bait?" Adina asked, and Kent just chuckled.

"No. I just want you to distract it for a moment while I land the killing blow."

"How is that different from being bait?"

Kent grinned, "It is different because you will come out alive in the end."

"So when you first wanted to use me as bait, you accounted for me dying." Adina glared at Kent; a murderous look flashed across her eyes.

"I already told you: until you successfully get to your destination using the Teleportation Mountains, killing you is impossible because I wouldn’t allow it.

That said, I already have a kill move in mind, so the chances of you dying are almost none."

Adina just scoffed and turned away from Kent. After a few seconds, she gave Kent her answer: "I will help you, but should things turn bad, I will abandon you."

"Sounds like someone who has survived on her own for many years. And don’t worry, I wasn’t planning on making things hard for you."

With her added to the plan, Kent knew the first target out of ten, if Bhaal’s estimation was correct, was already in the bag.

The next day, Iver ended his cultivation feeling even more powerful. However, despite becoming powerful, he was still under Kent’s mind control.

While cultivating, Kent used the time to go through Iver’s memories, and what he found out made him change his view on Iver’s character.

It turns out that among the seventeen Red Devil Mercenaries, he was the only one who protested against the idea of taking the mission he was on.

After all, they are mercenaries with a code.

Of course, they had done some dark things in the past, but all the missions he picked were for a good cause.

The last mission was hunting down a rogue formation master who had created a Soul Devour Formation over an entire continent and was using their soul energy to cultivate.

They managed to apprehend him and deliver him to the Mercenary Guild, earning money and praise. It was a big win for them, and even Iver, using the win, proposed to the girl he had had his eye on for a while.

Though he is not the most handsome—no thanks to his rough face tattoos—he managed to win a lady’s heart. But before he could spend time with her, the leader of his group picked up this deadly mission.

He tried to protest, but he wasn’t heard, which ultimately landed them in this hot mess.

It was one of the many reasons he made a run for it when the Bone Dragon was chasing them. But he couldn’t escape because he was attacked by another beast, which now landed him in Kent’s mind game.

So Kent plans to let him go, but first, he wants to use him to the best of his abilities.

Their first mission, though, was to kill the Metal Wing Lightning Hawk.

Its nest is at the peak of the mountain.

The first plan was to catch it and mind control it if possible.

If not, Kent planned on hiring the Tower to help him form a contract between him and the beast by offering as much as he could buy, thanks to having billions in Tower Points.

With its speed, getting to their destination would be fast and less deadly.

But now he plans on killing it and using its core; he will begin forming his Primal Chaos Core, one that he was already looking forward to.
