Chapter 870: Primal Core Formation Diagram, First Core
Chapter 870: Primal Core Formation Diagram, First Core
[200 miles away from the Vine Forest]
"This place looks creepy," Adina said, looking at the coiling and twisting forest 200 miles away from them.
Kent smiled. "It is the Vine Forest, so what do you expect?"
Their next destination was the Vine Forest. However, they weren’t going to stay there. Nobody in their right mind would stay in such a place.
They just want to kill the Vion Lion and be on their way.
Of all the many beasts Kent planned on killing, all were below the Heavenly Ascension stage, for he knew that even using his soul universe, killing a Heavenly Ascension stage beast would not be easy.
Of course, he planned on facing the Wandering Demon Swordsman, who was a Level 2 Heavenly Ascension stage expert.
However, before that, he had planned to form his core and that involved killing Level 8 Spirit Lord beasts. Given that it was within his capabilities, he was determined to do so.
"So what is our next move?" Adina asked, and Kent sat down.
"I will first absorb the core from the beast we killed, then we can go after the next target. It is a Level 8 Spirit Lord stage beast, so we should be able to kill it in mere minutes, perhaps even less if we plan well."
Adina nodded and started to wait for Kent to get started.
Kent took out the core, feeling the bloodthirsty energy pulsing from it. ’This will indeed turn me into a maniac if it doesn’t kill me first.’
He set it down, and then, after taking a deep breath, he formed a hand seal, manifesting a formation diagram.
He turned and looked at Adina. "No matter what, don’t approach me."
Adina, who already wanted to stay as far away from Kent as possible, didn’t need him telling her that. She just moved back further as a sign that she had no plans to help him, no matter what.
Kent smirked and then formed another seal. ’I first have to activate the Primal Core Formation Diagram before the absorption will start.’
Kent formed the third seal, and the formation diagram on the ground started spinning slightly.
A few seconds into the spinning, his cultivation method started merging with the Primal Core Formation diagram.
It took a couple of minutes, but the moment the merging ended, the core before Kent started to get absorbed, reducing in size the next second.
Kent felt his body suddenly fill with so much energy, even when only half of the core was absorbed.
Adina, who was standing back, felt her face pale when she saw Kent absorbing everything from the core. She was tempted to stop him, but she held herself back, recalling Kent’s warning.
’Is he crazy? Why is he absorbing all the energy from the beast’s core?’
She didn’t understand why Kent was doing all this. However, she remained behind, observing as Kent absorbed both the pure and chaotic essence of the beast core.
After two hours, the core was fully absorbed, and Kent fell into a trance-like state.
He appeared inside his soul sea, where there was water everywhere. However, while the water mirrored the blue color of the sky, Kent saw that one part of the water had started turning red.
Of course, he saw that one part of the sky had also turned red.
"The energy coming from the red spot is overwhelming." Kent clenched his fist, feeling the energy seep into his body.
"However, if this core formation thing is measured based on when the entire sea turns red, then I will need more than 10 cores."
This realization made him sigh. But he could also feel his energy rise to a new level, so he knew no matter what, he must form the core before meeting the Heavenly Ascension stage expert.
"There is nothing aside from the water and the 13 moons here," Kent sighed, and then willed himself back to the outside.
When he woke up, a powerful energy burst out of his body, causing Adina and Iver to turn pale in an instant.
"Why do you guys look pale?" Kent asked, not having realized what his aura did to them.
"Your aura is filled with bloodlust," Adina responded, and Kent smiled.
"Looks like it worked." Kent smiled cheerfully.
His smile was one of pure, unfiltered happiness. ’It seems Bhaal didn’t lie to me. Just one core was enough to change something about me.’
Kent activated the ’Soul Map,’ and for a moment, his body froze.
"Are you alright?" Adina, who was paying close attention to Kent, asked when she saw the look on his face.
Kent didn’t answer her immediately.
Instead, he activated the ’Map Share’ with her, causing Adina to stiffen as well..
"How is this possible? And please don’t tell me this is because of the core you absorbed."
"What else could be the reason?" Kent looked at her with an amused expression.
At first, the map could show a 200-mile radius around him, but now he could see 2,000 miles around him, and that alone was more than enough for him and Adina to see the Vine Lion sleeping miles away.
"There is something different about the skill now. I can see some red markings on the beasts body" Adina said, noticing something new inside the Soul Map.
"They are called ’Intent Marks.’ They are the vulnerable spots on a target you can go for during combat. Though not guaranteed to be an easy kill, having this mark makes the battle much easier.
The chances of you landing a fatal blow on these spots are very high."
"Should that even be possible?" Adina was left stunned, unsure of how to describe the Soul Map.
"Nothing is impossible, young lady." Kent laughed, walking closer to the edge of the mountain.
He shared the Soul Map with Iver, who was equally mesmerized.
"As you can see, our next target is sleeping, so this should be easy enough." They nodded. Using the Soul Map, they could see where they would pass without the beast giving them trouble.
The map gave them an overview of the entire 2,000-mile radius, and all they had to do was follow the marked points.
"The same plan as before, so we should get this over with and leave this forest. I plan on reaching the Teleportation Mountains within the next seven days, so we should hurry."
Adina liked the idea because, while she started to enjoy Kents company, she knew the faster they get to the teleportation mountains, the faster she will be on her way to her next safe zone.
They moved, and ten minutes later, Iver came within 50 meters of the Vine Lion, which stirred from its sleep. However, instead of the lion attacking, Iver was the one to attack.
His spear attack was lethal, and while the lion was able to defend against it, the attack that came from Adina landed on its body, cutting a large wound into its skin.
But it didn’t get the chance to go berserk because Kent was ready with his attack.
He unleashed a different sword, driving it through the lion’s brain. It was a single attack, but it was enough to end the lion’s life.
"I might just have a thing for flying weapons," Kent laughed, making the flying sword zip through the air a few more times before returning it to his soul universe.
Adina and Iver could only look at him with unbelieving expressions. They saw enough to know that the moment Kent reached the Spirit Ascension stage, not even a Supreme High World could contain him.
"Let me absorb the core before we leave." He sat down and began to absorb the core.
