Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 924: The Price Of Failure

Chapter 924: The Price Of Failure

"What happened to Big Sister?" Unity asked when Kent appeared inside the harem tower carrying Vexthra.

"She helped me with something and passed out after." Kent set her down on the bed. He used his finger to tenderly move the hair falling on the side of her face. "Don’t worry, she will be fine. She just needs to rest for a while."

He had already checked with the tower, and aside from Vexthra passing out due to exhaustion, nothing else seemed to be wrong with her.

However, as to when she will wake up, even the tower doesn’t know.

"Take care of her while I am away." The ladies nodded, and Kent vanished back to the sword tower. The moment he appeared, his eyes turned red as veins popped on his forehead.

The look of both regret and failure was evident on his face. But there was extreme hatred that seemed to be directed toward the forsaken race, burning wildly in his eyes.

"If I don’t eradicate every last one of you, then my name is not Kent."

Kent never expected the third memory to be so deeply ingrained in his being. It was overwhelming to the point that he would prefer it not happen ever again.

So far, he had experienced four ways he could review his past memories.

The first was, of course, taking a third-person seat and watching his memories unfold. He had experienced that with all three of his past lives.

The second, of course, was meeting his past selves. That one too happened when he was reviewing Chaos and Faceless’s memories.

Naturally, he knew this method would only happen once, unless, of course, he were to come across something that once belonged to him with his divine sense imbued in it.

The third was the diaries, which so far were Kent’s favourite, for he knew that after every diary, he would gain enlightenment. He had already gained four enlightenments for just his Chaos Dragon form.

However, he never expected the fourth method to be this drastic. This time, he was thrown into Chaos’s life, causing him to relive his memories.

Unlike the first method, this one made him feel whatever Chaos felt back then. So, while he couldn’t control how things unfolded, he was forced to relive the memories, and that alone was more than a person could bear, especially when they were not prepared.

Kent felt the love Elina had for him, and while the current him would have reciprocated that love, Chaos had been clueless until it was too late.

In that moment, when he saw the ships appear from the void, he knew what had happened. However, while he didn’t even know it, the love and feelings he never realised he had for Elina began to ignite, and that was what sent him flying to her world.

But the sight of Elina’s lifeless body was what broke him.

The fury he was going through at the moment was more than he had felt back then. In fact, back then, Chaos was only cultivating the Primal Body Tempering Art.

However, now, he was cultivating both the Primal Core Formation Diagram and the Primal Body Tempering Art.

Furthermore, after attaining the Blood Enlightenment, he acquired a unique yet perilous martial technique deeply rooted in bloodshed and slaughter.

It was safe to say he was now set to walk the path of slaughter.

This discovery had awakened the latent bloodlust inherent in his unique cultivation path. If he were to dive deeper, what Dori warned him about might happen.

He might just lose his mind and go on a slaughter spree.

Kent held the last memory key in his hand for three good hours before storing it back in his tower space.

"I need to hold back on that for now." He sighed. "In fact, I need to hold back on all the memories until Dori wakes up. Who is to say the next memory won’t get my blood boiling again?"

Kent sighed, knowing this trauma would take some time to heal. However, that didn’t mean he would slow down.

He might not be in the right mindset to be around his wives, which they understood, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t handle other things.

He opened the system interface and saw that he had a substantial amount of Attribute Points. This meant he could break some more limits on his body.

"From the moment I became a Core Formation expert, the Yin Essence Vexthra sealed within my body started to show its use. If I were to follow the ordinary path and refine my core, I would have done so seven times already, reaching the peak.

However, with this path I have chosen, her yin-qi and the others cannot help with my cultivation, at least not when slaughter and bloodlust are considered" A smile appeared on Kent’s face despite the pain he was in.

"Of course, this is a good thing. Since their Yin Essence cannot help with my cultivation, it means all that power will be directed toward breaking the limits."

"I don’t know if this is a blessing or a curse, but if just one limit can double or even triple my strength, then who is to say what will become of me if I continue to break more limits?"

Kent looked at the large chunk of Attribute Points again and smiled. "After breaking all these limits, I will head to the past and do my best to complete the requirements and become a Pill Saint.

Gaia said she had fixed the Pill World Chamber, so I can now depend on the tower time while in the past. These two weeks left are more than enough to do so much, and who knows, I might just come back stronger."

Kent turned to the points and started adding them.

[Core of the Universe - Lady Universe’s POV]

From the moment Kent started retrieving his past life memories, Lady Universe knew what was about to happen. In fact, she was prepared for it ahead of time.

Naturally, Gaia should not have woken up, but she made sure she did to help Kent during the battle against the forsaken race.

However, despite doing all that, she failed to realise that Kent may have reincarnated many times, but the heart demon created when he lost Elina still followed him through the cycle of reincarnation.

Now, it had manifested itself, and Kent, who never knew of this price he had to pay for his failure, was now consumed in his rage. Even as the heart of the universe, she did not know what to do to help him.

This worried her. However, as the heart of the universe, she could not afford to get emotional, not if she wanted to avoid causing great calamity for everyone.

However, as she watched Kent put away the rest of his memory keys, she sighed, knowing his mindset had weakened somehow, and if nothing was done quickly to address the damage, things would get ugly very soon.

"I have to let the flow of time pass naturally. If I interfere to help him this once, who knows what danger may befall him in the future?"

She sighed, and after a few internal struggles, chose to take a break from watching Kent’s life. This decision was the only way she could, in a sense, handle the trauma and avoid doing anything reckless.

In the end, she stepped back and shifted her focus to someone else. This time, she chose to watch a slave girl whose life was slowly influencing the future of the universe in both good and bad ways.
