Re-Awakening: I Ascend with a Legendary class

Chapter 583: Getting Stronger, Breakthrough

Chapter 583: Getting Stronger, Breakthrough

This game was taking its time, and so were the players.

It was a race, so everyone was hurrying, but they didn’t want to miss any resources as well, especially since lowest tier of resources in this game were Tier-5.

Five hours passed by when Almond and Lily upgraded their territory to 1000 kilometer radius mark after a total of three upgrades.

[Your territory have intersected with two other territories. Killing one player will revive them next to their partner after ten seconds, unless the partner is killed before the other one respawns.]

"So there were two pairs before us who upgraded their Crystal Towers to this level already." Lily blinked.

"We don’t know what tier they are, but they should be strong." Almond rubbed his chin. "Let’s quickly upgrade ourseleves by hunting Tier-10 monsters and resources first."

They didn’t want to make contact with the other parties yet.

There was a high chance they were stronger than tham, given that they were 3rd pair to upgrade their tower to this level despite hurrying.

Alfred and Sylvia didn’t need to be commanded as they immediatly began working.

All four split to explore the new 300 kilometers area they just got.

[Sylvia: Discovered a Tier-10 Graniole Drifter Drake. Master, I’d need some strong Grimblades with Grim Severed and Grim Piercer. Mainly Healing Severing, Crystal-Wood Defense Piecer, and Speed Severing. And Miss Lily, I need some Tank-class Dreadlings from you.]

[Almond: Sending.]

[Lily: Alright.]

Next, Alfred also notified the duo for reinforcement as Almond and Lily also sent several Grimblades and Dreadlings his way.

During the last five hours, both of them had increased their arsenal of powers significantly.

Alfred and Sylvia reached Tier-9 with Almond modifying and weaving new Oblivion Spirits into them. They acquired more abilities, and their existing abilities had some changes for better. As for Talents, the second talent could only be acquired at Tier-10 lifeform.

On the other hand, Almond and Lily broke through to Tier-3.

The requirement for breakthrough was to form a Pulse Core within their body.

Pulse Core ensured they would constantly recover Pulse by autometically absorbing atmospheric energies, granting faster Pulse Recovery per second.

Aside from this, Almond managed to build eight Paradox-rank Grimblades, all at Tier-9.

Each one had attacks and effects that could take on Tier-9 lifeforms easily, and with Almond’s Grim Severam/Grim Piercer card, they could take on Tier-10 monsters as well.

To get his first Exalted-rank Grimblade, he still needed 3000 Common-rank Grimblades more to turm them into five Paradox-rank Grimblades, and use ten of them to elavate one Paradox-rank Grimblade to Exalted-rank.

Almond knew he might just finish his first Exalted-rank Tier-10 Grimblade by the end of this game.

On the other hand, Lily built a classic army of Dreadlings.

She modified Dreadlings, shifting their powers to create a proper army of dreadful monsters.

Her main ten Dreadlings at peak Tier-9 with highest quality of abilities headed their armies accordingly.

The ten classes were:

—Melee Assassin Class: Specializing in stealth and close-range deadly attacks.

—Long Range Bomber Class: Specializing long range single/area attacks.

—Tactical Control Class: Specializing in myriad of control-type abilities.

—Giant Tank Class: Specializing in defending against myriad of attacks.

—Tactical Protection Class: Specializing in protecting others.

—Skirmirshir Figther Class: Specializing in swift engagement and disengagement to aquire information of enemies’ powers.

—Melee Warlord Class: Specializing in close range combat.

—Dread Spread Class: Specializing in applying harmful debuffs.

—Logistic Nexus Class: Specializing in swiftly cleaning battlefields, gathering body parts, residual energies, and resources.

—Vitality Sustainer Class: Specialized in healing and recovering Deadlings from damage and status effects.

Lily had a total of 749 Dreadlings, though the number of Assassin, Bomber, Tank, and Figther were more than the others, for obvious reasons.

To upgrade the Crystal Tower one final time to unlock the core area of this continent, they needed 10,000 shards.

Though now that their territories intersected, they would encounter other players, and the fight was inevitable.

So it was a race on who would kill more monsters faster to gather the shards and unlock the core area to touch the Victory Cup.

...

Eight Paradox-rank Grimblades fanned out in a crescent formation above Almond as he faced a Tier-10 monster—Dinger Howl Reaper Wolf.

Voidrend Sovereign Fang pulsed with a deep violet fracture-light.

Frostmourne Lattice Oath shimmered in crystalline blue.

Blazecrown Cataclysm Edge radiated molten gold veins.

Riftpiercer Monarch Spike thinned into a razor line of distorted air.

Stormdirge Executioner Halo rotated silently, lightning dancing along its edge.

Nullgarden Sepulcher Blade glowed in muted silver-green.

Gravemarch Sovereign Cleaver hung heavy, warping the air beneath it.

Shatterlight Crownbrand refracted sunlight into splitting prismatic beams.

The Dinger Howl Reaper Wolf lunged.

Its shadow-fur peeled backward as it accelerated, claws carving trenches across the fractured black plains. The air screamed from sheer pressure.

Almond stepped forward.

Voidrend Sovereign Fang tore downward.

Violet fracture-light ripped open a crescent wound across the wolf’s shoulder.

Stormdirge Executioner Halo rotated once, and lightning detonated along the beast’s spine.

The wolf howled.

Soundwaves shattered the surrounding floating rock pillars into dust.

Riftpiercer Monarch Spike vanished.

A razor-thin distortion line pierced through the wolf’s chest and exited cleanly behind it.

Blazecrown Cataclysm Edge followed, and molten gold erupted across the open wound, damaging it.

Almond was barely managing to observe the movement of the wolf through a Tier-8 Grimblade’s effect, specializing in accelerating his perception to perceive fast motions.

Frostmourne Lattice Oath swept low, crystalline frost spreading outward in a spiraling lattice that locked one of the wolf’s hind legs in violet-blue ice.

Gravemarch Sovereign Cleaver dropped from above.

The impact compressed gravity into a crushing dome.

The wolf’s massive body slammed into the ground.

Shatterlight Crownbrand refracted the fractured sunlight overhead into converging prismatic beams.

The beams stabbed downward.

Nullgarden Sepulcher Blade pulsed in muted silver-green.

The wolf’s regenerative aura flickered and dimmed.

Almond didn’t hesitate.

He activated both versions of the card—Grim Severam/Grim Piercer, and superlayered four effects, two Severs and two Piercers.

Voidrend ignited brighter.

The blade descended in a clean diagonal arc.

SLASH!

The wolf’s head separated from its body in a clean line of violet fracture-light.

Tower Shards rained downward in a glittering storm.

’10 shards for a Tier-10 as expected.’

Almond collected the shards.

And that was when the world tilted.

Not from the wolf.

From behind.

A thin black arrow formed mid-air.

No wind.

No warning.

It pierced through Almond’s left shoulder and detonated in compressed spatial force, whirling with dark blue flames.

The blast hurled him forward.

Before he hit the ground—

Two liquid-crystal daggers carved across his back.

A woman materialized behind him, her form phasing in from translucent shimmer to solid existence.

At the same time, an obsidian-clad archer stood on a floating stone slab two hundred meters away, bow already drawn again.

A clean and perfect ambush.

Fortunately, Almond Lily’s Dreadlings and some of his Grimblades absorbing damage and healing him swiftly.

But he almost died.

Almond twisted mid-air.

Stormdirge flared.

Lightning arced toward the dagger woman.

She flickered sideways, barely escaping.

Riftpiercer flashed toward the archer—

—but a translucent hexagonal shield unfolded in front of him, absorbing the distortion line with a deep metallic hum.

’A Tier-11 power?’ Almond’s eyes glinted.

Almond’s pulse core roared.

Voidrend rose again.

"Grim Severam."

This time, only one blade.

Shatterlight Crownbrand folded inward, refracting into Voidrend’s edge like prismatic fuel.

"Defense Sever."

The dagger woman lunged again.

Almond stepped into her.

Not back.

Forward.

Voidrend carved horizontally.

The fracture line did not stop at her body.

It erased the spatial continuity around her waist and then spread across her body.

She split cleanly into fifty pieces.

Her form disintegrated into respawn light.

One down.

But the archer had not stopped.

Three nightmarish arrows.

First pierced Almond’s thigh.

The second tore through his side.

The third detonated against his chest.

Spatial compression collapsed inward.

Almond swung Gravemarch upward blindly—

—but the obsidian archer had already vanished.

BOOM!

[ You are dead. You will respawn in ten seconds next to your partner. ]

’Tsk.’
