Chapter 637: Conquered
Chapter 637: Conquered
The center of the battlefield no longer resembled a command post.
It looked like a collapsing sun of power.
Dozens of kings stood in a wide formation, their auras overlapping into a single oppressive field that bent the air and dimmed the sky. The ground beneath them had already fractured into layers of broken stone and molten seams, unable to withstand the pressure they radiated.
Behind them, the last defensive formations spun desperately, flickering under the pull of the distant Chaos Refinement Storm.
In front of them, nine figures advanced.
No pause. No hesitation.
The moment the distance closed, the kings unleashed everything.
The sky tore open.
A blade spanning the horizon descended, carving the air into two. A gravitational collapse followed, dragging debris, bodies, and energy into a crushing center. Storms of molten fire rained down in sheets, while colossal summoned titans rose and swung weapons heavy enough to shatter landscapes.
The battlefield disappeared beneath layered destruction.
Almond did not stop.
His eyes flickered once.
Fabricated spirits surged outward, not as a shield, but as a living system. Some expanded into massive constructs that intercepted the descending blade, their forms splitting and rejoining as they absorbed the impact. Others bent around the gravitational pull, redirecting its force sideways into empty space. Several detonated mid-contact, converting incoming attacks into raw energy that fed the rest.
The horizon-wide blade fractured into segments.
The gravitational collapse destabilized.
The firestorm scattered into fragments of burning debris.
Lily stepped forward.
The sky dimmed as her Dreadlings spread outward, no longer a swarm but a storm front that swallowed everything in its path. The summoned titans vanished inside it. Massive limbs were carved apart in rapid succession, their bodies shredded from every angle before they could complete a single motion.
The storm passed through them.
Nothing remained.
Ainen lifted his hand.
His flames did not erupt outward. They expanded in place, forming a shifting field around him. Every attack that entered slowed, warped, and broke apart. Energy beams bent into spirals. Firestorms fragmented into controlled streams. Lightning twisted into looping arcs that lost all direction.
Then the flames turned.
What had been attacks became fuel.
The flames multiplied.
Blue fire spread through ranks of kings, freezing them mid-motion as frost crystallized across their bodies. Golden flames compressed others inward, their forms folding under invisible pressure. Black flames consumed active abilities, erasing them before they could complete.
The first king collapsed without reaching them, his body hollowed from within by a flame that never touched the surface.
The formation broke.
The kings surged forward individually.
One appeared above Almond, forming a massive spear and driving it downward. The weapon pierced through several spirits, tearing them apart before stopping abruptly. New spirits formed along its length, reshaping into locking structures that halted its descent. The spear’s energy drained as it was held in place.
Almond lifted his hand slightly.
The spirits reshaped again.
Blades formed from their bodies and drove inward.
The king was pierced from every direction, his form bursting apart into fragments.
Another king charged Lily, surrounded by a rotating barrier of blades.
The Dreadlings did not collide with it.
They slipped through it.
Between rotations.
Between the smallest gaps.
Then they expanded inside.
The barrier froze.
A moment later, it split outward from within.
The king’s body followed.
A third king unleashed a sphere of annihilation toward Ainen. It expanded rapidly, devouring everything in its path.
Ainen’s flames converged.
The sphere slowed.
Its edges flickered.
Then it collapsed inward, turning on itself.
The king was erased inside his own attack.
The battlefield collapsed into brutal close-range combat.
Gopu slammed into a king, their collision flattening the ground beneath them. The king struck back, tearing into Gopu’s side and ripping flesh open. Blood spilled into the air. Gopu grabbed his arm and drove his fist forward, crushing through the king’s chest.
Natalia’s weapons rotated continuously behind her, firing in layered volleys. Explosions overlapped and tore through advancing kings, forcing them back or breaking them apart mid-charge.
Kayla’s plant spirits erupted across the battlefield. Massive roots burst upward, impaling enemies and dragging them downward before crushing them between layers of living wood.
Saffa’s spells spread across the entire field, bending trajectories. Attacks meant for one target curved unpredictably, striking allies instead.
Clovelle moved through the chaos with precise efficiency. Her blade cut once for each life taken, each strike clean and final.
Fraisea’s chained spells locked kings in place before detonating through their bodies in clustered bursts.
The resistance thinned rapidly.
Only the strongest remained.
Five kings stepped forward together.
Their auras merged.
The battlefield bent under the weight of it.
A massive construct formed around them, towering over everything, its body layered with condensed power that pulsed like a living entity.
It moved.
One strike.
The ground split apart. Shockwaves tore through everything in front of it. Gopu was thrown back, his body tearing under the force. Natalia’s weapons shattered. Kayla’s vines snapped apart. Even the Dreadling storm broke in sections.
The construct advanced.
Almond stopped.
For the first time.
His eyes flickered again.
The fabricated spirits surged upward, stacking and merging into a massive shifting form that matched the construct’s scale. Grimblades integrated into their limbs, rotating and reshaping as they formed a single unified structure.
The two forces collided.
The impact erased the space between them.
The battlefield turned white.
The construct pushed forward.
The spirits adapted.
They shifted, reformed, absorbed, and redirected.
Ainen’s flames wrapped around the construct’s limbs, altering their structure. Lily’s Dreadlings forced their way inside, tearing through it from within.
Cracks spread.
The construct faltered.
Almond closed his hand.
Everything converged.
All the spirits collapsed inward to a single point.
Then detonated.
The construct shattered completely.
The five kings were thrown apart.
They did not recover.
Gopu reached one and crushed his skull.
Clovelle cut another cleanly in half.
Ainen’s flames consumed a third without resistance.
Lily’s swarm erased the fourth.
Almond’s three Spirit Lords shredded the last from different directions.
Silence followed.
The battlefield stilled.
Broken terrain, drifting bodies, and burning remnants filled the space where an army had stood.
Behind them, the Chaos Refinement Storm expanded further.
Everything rose.
Corpses, weapons, shattered constructs, and lingering energy lifted into the spiraling storm, dissolving into raw power.
The domain of Game of Chaotic Ascension expanded again.
And the bottom-tier plane had no one left to resist it.
[Congratulations. You have completed the Hell Mode Quest.]
All nine of them instantly ascended to Tier-19 from Tier-10! Unlocking their fourth deck slot. However, they were not in a hurry to manifest it.
On the bottom-tier plane, trillions of slaves began playing this game to ascend back to their former glory, and even rise above it.
Almond and others watched over the bottom-tier plane, observing some particular individuals who were rising fast.
"Let’s open a leaderboard." Ainen grinned and snapped his finger new lines began forming in the crystal. "Since we are going to make a proper kingdom in the mid-tier plane after this, let’s get some subordinates for us to use develop faster."
"Sounds good." Almond nodded.
