Re-Awakening: I Ascend with a Legendary class

Chapter 654: Powerful Guardians

Chapter 654: Powerful Guardians

The moment the guardians raised their hands, the hall awakened.

Light surged through every inscription carved into the walls and pillars. Golden lines ignited in cascading patterns, flowing like rivers of energy through ancient channels that had remained dormant for ages. The pillars responded with deep, resonant pulses, each vibration sending circular waves through the water that distorted vision and bent perception slightly out of alignment.

The environment was no longer neutral.

It had become a weapon.

Then the guardians moved.

They did not advance.

They appeared.

One of them manifested directly before the Suryax generals. The space around it snapped into place like fractured glass sealing itself. Its arm rose, and a thin, crescent-shaped wave of force extended outward from its palm. The crescent did not glow brightly. It shimmered faintly, like heat over metal, but the space it passed through warped inward along its edge.

The crescent cut forward.

Five generals vanished along its path.

No resistance.

No fragments.

Only absence.

"Back!" Rudra’s voice snapped through the hall.

The formation broke instantly.

The second guardian appeared above them, both hands brought together as a dense sphere of energy formed between them. The sphere rotated slowly, compressing the surrounding water into spiraling layers that fed into it.

Then it released.

The sphere did not travel.

It collapsed into existence below.

And exploded inward.

A crushing implosion distorted everything within its radius. Water twisted into a vortex, space bending toward a central point.

Natalia reacted first.

A lattice of translucent geometric panels formed in front of the group, each one interlocking into a layered shield. The panels glowed faintly with shifting patterns, adjusting their angles in response to the incoming force.

Kayla’s power followed immediately.

Thin strands of pale light extended from her hands, weaving through Natalia’s constructs like threads through fabric. The panels thickened, stabilized, and reinforced.

The implosion struck.

The first layer shattered.

Fragments of light scattered.

The second layer cracked, then broke apart.

The third layer held for a fraction longer before collapsing.

The force reached the formation.

A Spirit Lord was caught at the edge.

His body compressed inward, folding unnaturally before disintegrating into motes of fading light.

Behind them, Almond moved.

Golden threads formed in the water, weaving rapidly. The scattered fragments gathered, pulling themselves together as if guided by invisible strings. The Spirit Lord reappeared, gasping sharply as existence reassembled around him.

The guardians turned.

Both of them.

Their attention locked onto Almond.

"They’ve identified the source," Natalia said.

"They’re prioritizing him," Kayla added.

Almond’s eyes sharpened.

"Then let them try."

He stepped forward.

Abyssbreaker materialized in his hand, its surface glowing with deep blue, crimson, and gold light that intertwined across its length. The aura it emitted pressed outward, colliding with the ambient energy of the hall.

At the same time, Grim Severam spread.

It was not visible as a direct effect.

But the space around the guardians fractured subtly, their movements encountering resistance as if the fundamental flow of their power had been severed at key points. Their speed dipped. Their overwhelming dominance was reduced just enough.

That was all the opening needed.

"Now," Rudra said.

The Regalons moved.

Silvester vanished first.

A faint silver trail marked his path as he appeared at the guardian’s flank. His fists cut in a precise vertical line, leaving behind a thin glowing seam across the crystalline surface.

Hiroshi followed instantly.

His katana traced a horizontal arc, releasing a pale crescent of compressed energy that intersected Silvester’s strike. The two cuts overlapped, forming a cross-shaped fracture.

Marcus surged in.

His fist drove forward, wrapped in spiraling currents of force. The water around his strike compressed into a dense sphere that detonated upon impact.

The fracture expanded.

Cracks spread outward like shattered glass.

The guardian retaliated.

Its arm extended, forming multiple elongated projectiles, each one shaped like a narrow spear of white light. The spears fired simultaneously, curving through the water as they adjusted their trajectory mid-flight.

Silvester shifted, reappearing behind the formation, but one spear curved sharply and pierced through him. His body dissolved instantly.

He reappeared moments later, already moving again.

Hiroshi deflected two spears, each clash producing a sharp flash of light, but a third grazed his side, tearing through his form before he stabilized.

The second guardian blinked toward Almond.

Rudra intercepted.

Their clash produced a visible shockwave.

Rudra’s fists met the guardian’s palm, and the collision compressed the water between them into a spinning vortex. The force pushed outward, distorting the space around them.

The guardian pushed through.

Rudra was forced back.

Natalia expanded her field again, forming rotating hexagonal barriers that layered over each other. Kayla reinforced them, weaving stabilizing threads through every layer.

The guardian struck.

A fan-shaped burst of compressed force expanded outward, overlapping waves slicing through the barriers.

One layer shattered.

Then another.

Then another.

The final layer broke.

A Suryax general stepped forward without hesitation.

The attack passed through him.

He vanished instantly.

Almond’s power surged again.

The general reformed.

The guardian’s focus sharpened further.

"They’re adapting," Kayla said.

"Then we overwhelm them faster," Lily replied.

Her Dreadlings surged forward.

A dense tide of writhing forms collided with the guardian, their bodies merging and splitting as they absorbed incoming attacks. Waves of force tore through them, but each moment they held slowed the guardian’s advance.

Almond did not remain behind.

He moved.

A second Grimblade manifested in his other hand, its edge glowing with a darker, sharper intensity.

He stepped into the battlefield.

A sweeping slash cut horizontally, releasing a wide arc of compressed energy that split an incoming wave attack from the guardian. The arc traveled forward, colliding with the guardian’s body and deepening the existing fractures.

He shifted instantly.

Appearing at another angle.

A downward strike followed.

The blade carved into the same weakened point, triggering Triad Denial again. The energy within the guardian flickered where the strike landed, its internal flow disrupted further.

Marcus and Maya followed his movement perfectly.

Marcus struck from below, his punch sending a spiraling shockwave upward into the fracture.

Maya slipped through the opening, her blade cutting deeper with precise, controlled movements that targeted the core.

The guardian staggered.

Not visibly.

But its movements lost synchronization.

The second guardian reacted.

It formed a sphere of compressed energy around its hand.

Then it collapsed inward.

The singularity appeared directly around Almond.

Space folded violently.

His body vanished.

For a fraction of a second, he ceased to exist.

Then he reappeared behind the formation, reconstructed instantly.

The guardian paused for that fraction of a second.

That hesitation cost it.

Rudra moved.

His blade pierced forward, a straight thrust that drove into the guardian’s core. The strike released a concentrated burst of energy that spread outward in a circular pattern.

Silvester and Hiroshi struck from opposite sides.

Their blades crossed through the same point, creating intersecting cuts that widened the fracture.

Marcus charged in.

His fist slammed into the opening, detonating with full force.

Maya followed.

Her blade cut through the exposed core, leaving behind a deep, glowing line.

The Spirit Lords unleashed their power.

Massive arcs of energy crashed down, their strikes wide and heavy, overwhelming the guardian from multiple directions.

The Dreadling Monarchs tore into the fractures, their attacks relentless and feral.

The guardian broke.

Cracks spread across its entire form.

Light burst from within.

And it shattered.

The second guardian surged forward in response.

This time, the entire formation moved together.

Rudra intercepted.

Almond struck.

Marcus followed.

Maya cut.

Silvester and Hiroshi disrupted its movement paths.

Natalia and Kayla reinforced the battlefield constantly, creating and recreating safe zones.

Lily’s Dreadlings flooded the area, overwhelming the guardian’s space.

Grim Severam remained active.

A constant pressure.

A constant fracture in the guardian’s power.

The battle reached its peak.

The hall itself responded violently.

Energy surged through every inscription, amplifying the guardian’s attacks. Entire sections of space twisted and collapsed, forcing constant repositioning.

Still, the Regalons held.

Still, they pressed forward.

Fractures spread.

The guardian slowed.

Just enough.

"Finish it," Rudra said.

The final sequence began.

Almond stepped in first.

Abyssbreaker rose and fell in a decisive strike, carving directly into the guardian’s core.

Marcus struck immediately after, his punch detonating into a spiraling shockwave.

Maya followed, her blade cutting through the opened point.

Silvester and Hiroshi crossed their strikes again, sealing the damage.

The Spirit Lords unleashed one final barrage.

The Dreadling Monarchs tore into the core.

The guardian shattered.

"Phew, finally."

"They were too strong."

The energy faded.

The inscriptions dimmed.

At the center, the Tier-100 artifact remained.

Unmoving.

Waiting.

Swoosh!

In the next second, the medallion came out of Almond’s spatial pocket and shot towards the artifact.
