Re-Awakening: I Ascend with a Legendary class

Chapter 792: The Final Bell

Chapter 792: The Final Bell

Thirteen people arrived at the base of a tall stone tower, and every one of them looked up at the same time.

A single great bell hung at the very top, silver and still. A plain sign stood at the tower’s door.

Ring the bell together, or do not ring it at all.

"Together," Almond said, reading it twice to be sure. "Not just present. Together."

"We can do together," Natalia said.

The door opened on its own the moment all thirteen of them stood in front of it, and the tower swallowed them whole.

They found the guardian waiting in a single vast round room at the tower’s heart, and it took a moment for anyone to understand what they were actually looking at.

It had blades along one arm, curved and spinning slow, the same kind that had lined the Bladed Carousel. Its chest was a wall of shifting shelves, riddles glowing faintly across its surface the way the Sphinx’s Pantry had glowed. One leg stood on ground that never held still, the way the Tumbling Peaks never held still. Its other hand held a plate piled with food that hissed and moved on its own.

Mirrors covered its back, showing false versions of everyone in the room. And its head, when it finally turned to look at them, was carved from the same stone as the Thunderdome champion, fire banked low behind its eyes.

"It’s all six trials," Marcus said slowly. "Stitched into one body."

"The Wondergate Keeper," the guardian said, voice layered like six voices speaking at once. "You have proven yourselves against my pieces. Now prove yourselves against the whole."

"Split up," Rudra said at once, already reading the shape of the fight. "Same pairs as before. Handle the piece you already know."

Nobody argued. There wasn’t time to.

Kira and Noah broke for the bladed arm, because they’d already learned exactly how it moved. Kira’s Eternal Frost locked two of the spinning blades solid before they’d finished a single rotation, and Noah’s Endless Blade cut clean through a third, the two of them falling into the same rhythm that had carried them through the Carousel in half the time.

Marcus and Maya went for the riddle-covered chest, and this time the Keeper didn’t wait politely for them to answer. Shelves of glowing text lashed out like whips, and Marcus’s Vanguard’s Requiem threw up a wall of pure command force that turned three strikes aside at once while Maya’s Truthweave read the correct answer out of the chaos in a single glance.

"Seventeen," she called. "The answer is seventeen."

The riddle-chest dimmed, one piece of the Keeper finally going quiet.

Jian took the unstable leg alone, the way he’d taken the Tumbling Peaks alone, Skyfather’s Judgment gathering storm and stone together in both fists. The ground beneath that leg tried every trick the mountain had tried, and every trick failed against someone who had already learned patience the hard way, in a place far worse than this tower.

Ainen went for the hissing plate without a shred of hesitation, Saltbound Covenant already forming in his open hand. He didn’t fight the food at all. He offered it terms, the same honest exchange that had worked before, and the moving dish went still the moment it accepted what he offered.

"Manners," Ainen said. "They work on everything, apparently."

Lily and Kayla broke for the mirrored back, and Oathbreak Wraith tore through every false reflection at once, stripping name after stolen name away until the mirrors had nothing left to hide behind. Kayla’s Edenroot swept in behind her, closing the cracked glass over before anything else could crawl out of it.

Julian and Emma took the stone head last, meeting old, patient fire with new fire of their own, Wildfire Eternal and Nova’s Crown together finally cracking the banked flame behind its eyes wide open.

Almond and Rudra hadn’t taken a piece at all. They’d been watching the whole shape of the fight instead, the way an admiral watches a battle and a craftsman watches a flaw.

"It’s not six separate things," Almond said, reading the Keeper down to its single center. "It’s one thing wearing six masks. Every piece we beat is just weakening the same core."

"Then we don’t need six more victories," Rudra said. "We need one good strike, timed to land the instant every mask finishes falling."

They waited, patient, while the rest of the family finished their work, blades stilled, riddles answered, ground calmed, hunger fed, mirrors emptied, fire cracked open, and the Keeper staggered under the weight of losing every piece of itself at once.

"Now," Almond said.

Tollbound Reckoning answered first, Rudra calling in every debt the whole fight had quietly built, and Grimreaver Sovereign followed a half breath later, Almond’s blade finding the one true center the Keeper had never managed to hide behind six borrowed faces.

The Wondergate Keeper came apart all at once, six masks and one center, and the vast round room fell silent.

The silver bell at the top of the tower rang on its own, a single clear note that rolled out across the whole pocket world outside, and the Wondergate Baton in Emma’s hand dissolved into warm gold light.

[The Wondergate Relay is complete.]

[1st Place: Ananta Regalon.]

[Champion-position victories: 1 of 5.]

Thirteen tired, grinning people stood together in a tower that had already started fading around them, and nobody said anything for a moment, just breathing, just being glad it was over.

"One," Natalia said finally, reading the notice with real satisfaction. "Four to go."

"We’ll take four more," Almond said. "Same way we took this one. Together."

Big D’s voice reached them a moment later, carried through the pocket world’s own connection, gruff and clearly pleased despite himself.

"Get back here," he said. "Ainen, I want to hear about the talking dessert personally."

"It was delicious," Ainen called back. "Ten out of ten. I stand by my score."

The tower finished dissolving around them, and thirteen people who had just won a fight that needed every single one of them stepped back out into ordinary daylight, one championship closer to everything they still had left to earn.
