Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 641: The Truth

Chapter 641: The Truth

“You may now enter.”

The moment Rael and the others heard the go-ahead, they approached the doors.

The doors were immediately opened for them, and when they stepped inside, they were greeted by quite an imposing sight.

There were two powerful beings on both sides, and in the very center, sitting on his throne, was the Demon King himself.

He had pitch black hair and black eyes. His stature was surprisingly muscular, and although Rael didn’t like to brag, the Demon King’s muscles were a little bit less defined than Rael’s.

Obviously, that was the extent of superiority Rael felt over the Demon King, as his Grade and power told a different story.

Johan, The King of All Demons [Grade 10 Apocalypse Class | Level 12,995] – Vitality: Tier 100 [100% / 100% HP]

His HP was maxed out, and so was his Grade.

Obviously, Rael was certain that he could go beyond Grade 10, but because of what Rael had seen through the memories of the Eternal Dream, he was 100% sure that if Johan were to go ahead and break through into Grade 11, he would be deleted.

Anyhow…

“Father, I’ve brought her,” Elizabeth said confidently. “She strode into my home with her so-called husband and proceeded to make a mockery of me. She claimed she only came back because she now has a bloodline.”

She pointed at Lilith.

“Not only that, she claimed her bloodline purity was higher than mine.”

With those words, silence once again descended on the throne room.

Johan didn’t say a word, and Rael only stared at the sight with a slightly amused look.

What was the point of getting so riled up and then telling everything to her father?

Although she was old, she acted like a toddler.

Rael was half expecting Johan to address Elizabeth’s claims, but instead…

“Rael Sutekh, do you intend to drag my daughter into your war?”

He knows about me? No… More importantly, he seems to know about the war too.

“I’m not forcing anyone to join the war. If she wants to, she can. If not, she can just sit on the sidelines, and nothing would change.”

Johan nodded.

“Then have you come here to make an ally of me? Let me rephrase, do you wish for the demons to aid you in this war?”

Honestly?

“I would like that, yes,” Rael replied.

“Then I’d like to formally deny your request,” Johan stated. “I have no intention of waging war against the Divine Realm.”

Rael shrugged.

“Thankfully for me, after Lilith takes your place, you won’t have the authority to make such a decision.”

“…”

“…”

Deathly silence.

That was the only way Rael could put it.

He knew how bold his claim was, and even Lilith’s eyes widened in shock.

Johan was powerful enough to retain his seat as the Demon King for a very long time.

Rael remembered him as a toddler, back when Johan was still actively participating in the fighting pits.

He had grown a lot since then.

Both in maturity and in power.

But even then, Johan could only let out a faint chuckle.

“I suppose your arrogance does have a baseline. Lilith’s bloodline has bloomed considerably well.”

“Considerably well? Her bloodline purity is likely higher than yours,” Rael said matter of factly.

“That may be so. But you should know better that birthright and a fancy bloodline aren’t the only things that could make one suitable for the demon throne,” Johan replied.

Just as Rael was about to say something, Lilith interjected.

“Then why did you kick me out, father? Even without a bloodline, I was popular. I was the only person who the people listened to. I listened to them as well, and because of that, all the territories you had assigned to me were flourishing.”

She frowned.

“You gave those territories to Sister Elizabeth after you exiled me. I checked how they were doing, and it was horrible. She’s an incompetent ruler, and yet you pampered her more than you did me. So tell me, father, do all those things you mentioned really not matter? Because the way I see it, you’re acting like a total hypocrite right now.”

Johan’s expression didn’t change, but Rael could feel the pressure increase drastically.

Elizabeth turned pale, and right as she was about to reprimand Lilith, Johan spoke up.

“Everyone leave the throne room. Rael Sutekh and Lilith, you two stay.”

Even the four powerful beings were surprised, but after a quick bow, they vanished from sight.

Elizabeth stood in place for a moment, but after Johan glared at her, she ran away like a frightened dog.

Just like that, only Rael, Lilith and Johan were left in the throne room.

“Lilith, the only reason I exiled you was because your siblings were planning to kill you,” he said.

Lilith’s brows twitched.

“And the all-powerful Demon King couldn’t tell his children to not do that?”

Yeah, it did seem a little stupid.

“The moment all of you were born, I had sworn to never intervene whenever you squabble or go at each other’s throats. Your situation made me break that rule,” Johan replied.

His expression soured for a moment.

“Not only that… The only real reason why you never showed signs of awakening our bloodline was simply because you are not my child.”

Both Rael and Lilith froze.

“Not your child…?”

Johan nodded slowly.

“The truth is, I found you in an orphanage while I was doing some undercover scouting. I picked you up on a whim, since you were on the verge of death. You were very ill at the time.”

“Nonetheless, I nursed you back to health, and right as I was about to return you back to the orphanage, you called me father.”

Johan lowered his head.

“It was the first time in my life that one of my children called me father and meant it. For that, I made an exception, and a whole background for you. The mother you remember, and the one I executed, was nothing but a prostitute whose life I had bought.”

“…”

Well shit.
