Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 650: The Festival

Chapter 650: The Festival

The two flew back to the capital swiftly.

Of course, Rael knew very well what this ceremony was since it was an ancient tradition.

The most powerful demons would gather in a gladiator arena and battle it out.

It was a fight to the death, and it was surprisingly mandatory.

That meant even the demon king had to fight someone to the death, but since there weren’t many people who were on his level, Rael was sure he might just sit this one out.

Regardless of that, there were plenty of other powerful demons Rael spotted, and he was sure they would put up a decent fight against each other.

Rael was kind of looking forward to it.

And so, when they finally caught sight of the capital, Rael was left slightly surprised.

There was a giant dragon made completely out of fireworks and drones.

It circled the capital over and over again, and eventually, it flew toward Rael and Lilith.

He didn’t budge, so the dragon moved past him.

However, that was only the first of the surprises as the whole capital below was glowing brightly with all sorts of lanterns, colorful clothing, and even fancy but impractical weapons.

It was really a festival, and it was much livelier than anything Rael had ever seen.

So with a slight smile, he grabbed Lilith’s hand and descended into an alleyway.

Then, he bought the two of them some hoodies, and after putting the hoodies on, it was hard to tell that the two of them were calamity demons.

The moment they stepped onto the streets, everyone thankfully ignored them, and now they could celebrate this whole festival without being admired or looked at differently.

It was strangely soothing.

"So what’s your plan here?" Rael asked as the two strode through the lively streets.

Lilith hummed. "Not sure yet. I think I’m going to challenge one of my siblings during the fighting stage."

"You want to fight another one to the death?" Rael frowned. "I’m not letting you for starters. Also, how did you do that earlier?"

"Are you curious?" Lilith smirked. "Well... let’s just say I utilized the Law of Space, Law of Time, Law of Fate, Law of Chaos, Law of Plasma, and of course the Law of Wind and Law of Fire."

The what...?

"You used 7 Laws at once?"

"Mhm."

Huh.

"I created two timelines, you could say. In one timeline, the actual fight was happening. That’s the fight you saw down on the ground."

"Then... the second fight above was what actually happened, you could say. In that timeline, I died multiple times, but every death, I just turned back time and transmitted that information back to me down below so I could react."

Rael could barely process what she was telling him.

Was she insinuating that she managed to multitask so much that she could control a whole alternate reality while fighting someone that much stronger?

It was genius...

"You’ll have to teach me later how to do it."

"Have you bought the same laws as I did?"

Rael shook his head.

"Not yet, but I have the money to. I’m thinking of buying every single law in existence and then combining every single one of them."

"Um... that...? What?"

Now it was her turn to be confused.

But he was going to keep her confused as he simply leaned in and gave her a peck on the cheek.

She pouted, and after trying to get some answers out of him but failing, she gave up.

Pinching his side, the two of them walked on through the festival and occasionally stopped for some festivities.

They played a few games, especially that annoying one where they had to use a sheet of paper to pick up a fish.

Lilith wasn’t that good at it.

Rael cheated and won.

Regardless of that, they went on to get some food, and finally, when it seemed like several hours had passed, the demons began to scatter.

However, they weren’t going home.

Instead, they were moving toward the giant gladiator arena that was in the corner of the capital.

Rael and Lilith did the same, but he made sure to remind her of one thing.

"You’re not fighting. I’m fighting in your stead this time. Understood?"

Lilith grumbled.

"You think I won’t be able to handle myself?"

"Of course you won’t," Rael replied bluntly. "You won this time, but I know for a fact doing what you did isn’t easy. It takes a massive toll on you, and because of that, I forbid you from using that many Laws so recklessly. I’ll do the fighting, and I’ll kill your siblings for you. That’s the end of the deal, understood?"

He reiterated it a little differently.

But thankfully, this time, Lilith listened to him, and after nodding a couple of times and asking some more stupid questions, the two of them eventually arrived by the massive gladiator arena.

Naturally, there was a line of demons swarming inside the arena.

Since the two of them were more important than the demons, they skipped the basic entrance and flew over the top, landing in one of the seats that were meant for the VIPs.

Just like that, the two of them proceeded to wait and wait...

Hours later, it seemed like millions of demons were finally seated in this gladiator arena, and when that happened, a powerful presence suddenly enveloped everyone.

Rael nearly choked on his saliva from that very same pressure.

But as he glanced up, he spotted Johan, the Demon King, hovering just below the clouds.

Unlike his previous human form, he didn’t look anything like that anymore.

Instead, a pair of pale green wings extended from his back and covered half the sky.

Then, his pale green eyes looked over every demon, sending shivers down everyone’s spine.

Clearly, he was superior to everyone.

His gaze lingered on Rael for a little longer, and to Johan’s surprise, Rael didn’t look away like the others did.

And instead, it was Johan who looked away since his goal wasn’t to enter a staring contest.

Nonetheless, this little show Rael had just done by sheer accident meant a lot more than he understood.

But regardless of that, the Demon King soon descended and finally spoke.
