Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 661: The Labyrinth

Chapter 661: The Labyrinth

Obviously, not a single person objected.

Still, with the number of participants reduced from 20 to 12 in less than an instant, the crowd obviously had no idea what else could make this more interesting.

Neither did Rael, if he was being honest.

He felt like he could beat whatever came his way at the moment because his Laws were just that overpowered.

It was like an instant win button, and Rael loved it.

However, when Johan eventually spoke, it seemed like Rael was just slightly wrong.

"The few of you that are left, I take it you’ve all already experienced what it’s like to be stuck inside a maze. Therefore, this might just be a little easier for you."

Johan’s gaze landed on every single one of them.

"The twelve of you will no longer be in teams. You will be by yourselves, and your task is to find the secret item I hid in the labyrinth. There are only six such items, which means only six people can pass, whereas the others get eliminated."

That seemed pretty easy to understand.

Rael could just pull his old tactic if anything.

Simply burst through the walls of the labyrinth and find whatever he was supposed to.

He did the same when he was looking for Lucien.

But...

"You may not break any of the walls inside the labyrinth. They may only be destroyed if the destruction is unintentional. By that, I mean if you find yourself in a fight and have no choice but to go all out."

Aha.

That gave Rael an idea.

Still, he kept the idea to himself as Johan went on to explain the basic rules of this game.

And when he was finished, he simply snapped his fingers, causing every single one of the contestants to teleport inside the labyrinth in different spots.

Rael found himself in a particularly weird spot, as although he heard it was supposed to be a labyrinth, he thought of it as more of a jungle.

Furthermore, the amount of space he had... it didn’t seem like a labyrinth at all.

Soon enough, Johan’s voice thundered through the skies once more.

"This is one of the largest labyrinths in the universe. Obviously, it does not hold a candle to the Maze of Beginnings, which is nearly an infinite labyrinth, but we’re still proud of this one’s creation. I truly hope the rest of you can appreciate it without destroying it as well."

So gaslighting us into finding the secret items without fighting each other.

Slick move.

Though, if the labyrinth stood for that long, it was bound to stand a bit longer even if they were to fight a little.

So with that in mind, Rael prepared himself mentally, and when he was done, Johan’s voice eventually faded.

It officially started, and so Rael didn’t waste even a second as he traversed the jungle at several thousand times the speed of light.

Even then, it took him a few seconds to leave the jungle, and even more to cross the path where there wasn’t even a single bit of terrain, only void.

He thought of it as a design flaw at first, but clearly, by how there was a slight outline from where he was headed, this void biome was purely intentional.

And so, as he went from biome to biome, Rael searched for the items in mind, and he even used his Prophetic Realm to find some of them.

There was one particularly close to him, so Rael began heading straight for it.

It took nearly a minute of moving extremely fast to arrive, but to Rael’s dismay, there was already someone standing there, holding the item, which was just a toy banana.

However, Rael didn’t entirely feel like this was a loss.

After all, the person who stood before him was someone he was looking forward to meeting since the last round.

Reili, The Demon of Calamity [Grade 8 Calamity Class | Level 21,984] - Vitality: Tier 44 [100% / 100% HP]

This lad here was from the royal family.

That also meant he was Lilith’s sibling.

Though Rael was a little confused why his title was the Demon of Calamity.

Did he not have any better titles aside from this?

Could he just be some kind of fraud?

Regardless of that, he had Rael’s full attention.

"Hi there." Rael waved and approached Reili. "You wouldn’t happen to want to share that item you just got there, would you?"

"You seem rather brave walking up to me here," Reili completely ignored his question. "Do you perhaps think that just because you have father’s blessing and my younger sister’s hand in marriage, I wouldn’t dare to kill you?"

Rael tilted his head slightly.

"Pretty sure you’re looking too much into it. Still... why exactly did you go for this item in particular?"

He did a thorough scan of where every single contestant was the moment the game began.

Reili wasn’t anywhere near.

In fact, he was on the opposite side of this massive labyrinth.

And yet here he was, right in front of Rael.

That meant he purposefully came here.

And since that was the case, Rael was more than certain that this guy was looking for a fight.

Was he confident in beating a peak Grade 8 as a Grade 3?

Who knows.

All Rael was sure of was the fact that he wouldn’t lose easily.

<4 Laws Detected.>

<The strength of your Laws has been increased by: 1,000,000%>

Hmm.

He didn’t have many Laws either.

This might be a tricky fight.

But one million was one million.

It wasn’t a low number, and Rael was sure he could do a lot with it.

So with that in mind, Rael entered a fighting stance and glared at Reili.

Reili stared at Rael too for a few moments, when all of a sudden, white flames began gathering all around him.

Rael was slightly surprised.

After all, these were the exact same flames he managed to conjure after infusing Chaos into his Law of Hellfire.

Could it be that Reili also comprehended the Law of Chaos?
