Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 673: Applause

Chapter 673: Applause

The black vortex swirled incredibly fast, enveloping every single one of Rael’s Laws.

And yet, despite its clear strength, it wasn’t able to stop Rael’s attack.

So Rael’s Laws broke through the black vortex and struck Johan’s palm.

His palm disintegrated in an instant.

The crowd was just as surprised as Rael.

So much so that they fell silent for a few short moments.

That was until Rael’s attack abruptly stopped.

The Laws unfurled under Johan’s gaze, and before long, they completely vanished.

Rael thought he had done something, sort of.

Yet every injury he had inflicted on Johan was rendered useless.

And more so, the attack, which was the most powerful attack he could even cast, was treated as child’s play.

At times like these, he started seeing the gap that was between him and those at the higher Grades.

Grade 7 and 8 still seemed doable... but a true Grade 9, and most definitely a Grade 10, were very, very far out of his reach.

So as Johan returned completely unscathed, Rael closed his eyes, preparing to get punched for the last time.

But instead, what he received was applause.

Applause from not only the crowd, but also Johan himself.

"That was very impressive," Johan said. "You truly are worthy of Lilith’s hand."

Rael’s brows twitched.

Does it look like I give a shit about your approval?

Although Rael wanted to say that straight up, he held back, as after all, he had already felt like he pissed off Johan plenty in the last few days.

Not only did he turn his son into a puppet, but he also nearly embarrassed him in front of his own people.

So for that, Rael simply flashed a smile and waved at the crowd of people as they continued to cheer his name.

He felt way too antisocial for these kinds of things sometimes.

But regardless of that, he glanced back at Johan, who had crossed his arms and just stared at Rael.

"Are you satisfied with the spar?" he asked.

Rael thought about it for a moment, then shrugged.

"I guess I realized the difference between us. I can’t say I learned all that much though," Rael replied.

Johan raised a brow.

"Did you not find my technique valuable?"

That?

"It was pretty cool."

"..."

Johan was left speechless.

A technique he had spent years perfecting was reduced to being called ’cool’ by someone like Rael.

It really was a kick in the balls.

But even so, he clapped a couple more times and then snapped his fingers.

In an instant, the other contestants returned.

"I had intended to have you all learn the technique at a fair pace, and then duel each other to the death. I apologize for underestimating the capabilities of one of the contestants."

Of course, he was talking about Rael.

"But with this, I officially mark the end of the ceremony. I am glad you all participated, and I am truly glad powerful demons like you exist in this universe."

He then bowed toward the contestants.

"I applaud your performance. And now, you are free to do whatever you wish. Bask in the spoils, or establish a faction. Fight each other, or settle down. Your imagination is the limit."

Rael felt like this was a little too melodramatic.

Though since he was probably not the only one who thought this, he just sucked it up and waited for Johan to finish his corny speech.

And when he was finally done, he snapped his fingers and vanished.

Just like that, the five of them were left in the arena, deciding what else to do.

Two of Lilith’s siblings stood up and prepared to leave.

But that was when Rael suddenly extended his finger and summoned all of his Laws in the same way he did when he fought Johan.

A silver marble appeared, and then launched forward toward the two unsuspecting siblings.

And right as it was a few inches away from hitting them, it sent out a small pulse.

In an instant, their upper bodies were disintegrated as a whole patch of space warped around their figures.

Only their feet remained.

But as they began to regenerate, Rael simply controlled the marble to go back and envelop the rest of their bodies.

It all happened so fast.

And soon enough, there was nothing left of the two siblings.

Nothing but a large crack in space, and the marble, which just levitated in the air.

Rael wasn’t sure what to do with that marble, so he simply tossed it in the crack in space, and then simply closed the crack.

Just like that, both the siblings and the attack were gone.

The crowd that had already stood up and left didn’t see what happened, but for those who stayed... they were horrified.

But amongst the thousands of demons, there was one in particular who had a warm smile on her face.

It was Lilith.

She thought that he had forgotten and was about to let her siblings go.

But clearly, he hadn’t.

He killed them instantly.

Before they could even react.

Rael let out a chuckle and turned toward William.

"Say, did you happen to find a shadow a few months ago that you proceeded to use and absorb its powers?"

William narrowed his eyes.

"Do I know you?"

"Hmm... Maybe you do," Rael replied. "Rather, you should answer my question first, or you’ll end up just like the others."

<Ding!>

<Premium Override is being used on you!>

<They are attempting to steal the skill: Primordial Sight (Ancient+)>

<...>

<Ding!>

<24 Premium Coins have been automatically consumed to negate the effects of Premium Override!>

<You have maintained the skill: Primordial Sight (Ancient+)>

As Rael stared at those pop-ups, he couldn’t help but have a mixed expression.

He had theorized about something like this.

And now, it had come to fruition.

William really did absorb his shadow, even if temporarily.

And he learned a few of his perks.

"..."

Haha.

"William, why don’t you become my subordinate?"
