Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 683: Switcheroo

Chapter 683: Switcheroo

He had indeed told Pontis to take his time and have some fun, but… that was more of a courtesy.

Rael hadn’t expected him to take nearly two hours.

But aside from that, he soon felt Pontis’s presence as he slowly approached.

Finally, he hopped onto the wall and ran up to Rael with an apologetic look.

“S-Sorry, sir… I fell asleep.”

“…”

“It’s no problem, Pontis. But don’t make it a habit. I’m only forgiving you this once.”

Pontis bowed.

“Yes, sir! Sorry, sir!”

Rael felt like some kind of drill sergeant, and while he would love to power trip a little and make these guys do a million push-ups, he had also been blended like a smoothie in the military, so he’d rather not have anyone else experience that.

So with that, Rael stepped aside, allowing Pontis to once again take his place.

“Pontis, I’ll be doing an inspection beyond the wall.”

The moment Rael said those words, every single guard, including Pontis, suddenly turned toward him.

“…Sir?”

“It’s… uhh… you can’t leave this place. Those are orders from the higher-ups. O-Only if you’re a scout can you roam around the outer part of the Divine Realm. If not… you might get in trouble, sir.”

Hmm…

That made sense.

But then again, Rael was already here.

And after waiting for an hour, he wasn’t planning on just going back.

So he simply put a finger up to his lips and signaled for Pontis to be quiet.

For a moment, it looked like he wanted to disagree.

However, Rael soon realized that every guard surrounding them just looked away, acting as if they hadn’t seen or heard anything.

Noticing that, Pontis’s hands trembled.

But then, he too returned to his post and acted like Rael wasn’t there.

They were breaking the rules.

However, since every single one of them was breaking the rules… no one would find out.

And even if they did, by then, Rael would have already gotten whatever he wanted, and he would be out of this place.

So with that in mind, Rael leapt off the wall to the other side.

Outside of the wall, there was nothing, only empty space.

There were several dozen planets up ahead and, more importantly, a swirling wormhole quite far away.

But because of how large it was, Rael couldn’t help but see it.

Is that where I have to go? he asked.

[It is. However, there are a few powerful beings guarding it, so I’m not sure how you’re planning on going inside unnoticed,] Gaia replied.

Rael shrugged.

He’d figure it out when he got there.

Though as he started flying over there, he glanced back at the Divine Realm, which was incredibly beautiful from here.

He could also spot Pontis, who was staring at him with a worried look.

Rael just smiled and waved until, eventually, he got so far away that Pontis was like an ant in the distance.

He felt a shift in temperature, and when he glanced ahead, he spotted someone standing right before him.

It was a blonde-haired woman, and although she was petite, he couldn’t help but feel a certain amount of pressure from her.

She was definitely not weak.

Autumn, Goddess of Victory [Grade 9 Apocalypse Class | Level 11,422]Vitality: Tier 77 [100% / 100% HP]

“Hello there. I’m not sure how you wandered this far away, but you must go back. Going beyond here is forbidden.”

Rael stared at her for a moment, then inspected her body.

He made sure to slow down time so she wouldn’t realize.

And thankfully, he found exactly what he was looking for on her forearm.

It was the Ancient Primordial tattoo.

Which meant she was also an Ancient Primordial.

Since that was the case, Rael simply returned time back to normal and smiled at her as he rolled back his sleeve, revealing the crimson eye tattoo, which was also on his forearm.

“I’m just looking around. I hope you don’t mind.”

But despite Rael showing her his tattoo, Autumn hadn’t even batted an eye.

“I don’t recognize you.”

She tilted her head.

“You claim you’re one of us, and yet you disobey orders, knowing fully well they’re the only reason we still have a place in the Divine Realm. Tell me, what exactly is your name again?”

“Haha…”

Welp.

That’s that.

“My name is Rael.”

The moment Rael introduced himself, Autumn froze.

Her eyes narrowed, and before long, she took a few steps back in the air and suddenly pulled out a completely black sword.

“Rael, huh? That is a very familiar name. No wonder you were able to come out so far while being unnoticed.”

Is she associating me with the Supreme Beast? Rael thought with a sigh.

“You do know there is more than one Rael in the universe, right?” he replied.

However, Autumn was not convinced.

Instead, she readied her sword and, in the blink of an eye, reappeared in front of him.

He stared at the incoming blade and played out a few of his choices inside his mind.

There were plenty of ways he could deal with it, but there was one way that made him the most curious.

His new stat, Ordinance.

Rael wasn’t sure how to go about it, so he did something simple first.

“Your sword is now dull.”

As the sword finally reached his neck, it surprisingly didn’t cut through.

And as he glanced at the blade, it really had dulled.

But…

[She would’ve lopped off your head regardless of whether her sword was dull or not. You have your Concept of Money to thank for not being instantly killed,] Gaia said with a sigh.

Rael chuckled.

He knew that.

Though it was nice to see that his words truly turned into commands.

But…

Just how far can I push this?
